Talking Faimiliars and their possesion? Posted: 18 Jan 2004 12:14 PM |
Is there a way to make your familiar talk without having to resort to possesing them, then having to unposses them to have your main character talk?
Please help, this will most likely be a big part in my new characters roleplay.
Im sure I saw it done on Daggerford or maybe that guy or girl was just really quick switching between characters. |
Current Characters - Worik the Wanderer, Joda Zod, and Kango.

| I don't think there's anyway other than possession, but I'm no expert on the matter so feel free to disregard my response. |

Yes there is, use this:
/dm ;Blabla
And your familiar, companion, summoned monster will speak. Do not forget the ; !!!! |
Luther McIath: I see, so [X is] the right person in the wrong place with the wrong people at the wrong time.
[Fictrix] ... And can speak French, like both! Wait, I mean Elven. |

You can get more information on making your summons/companions speak as well as racial languages and emotes here. Also information on the voice summoner here. Keep in mind of course that animal companions and summons lack the intelligence and vocal chords to speak in common |

Would there be a problem with me using a fey as my summon and having her talking? Or do you think it would be better to have just my character understand her?
Maybe It'd be better if you knew more of the background story for Joda and his companion. Just not sure I want it to be known to all the other players yet.
What do you think Alosynth? other opinions welcome ;) |

| Yup, I just made my comment about animal companions and animal summons as animals lack both intelligence and vocal chords to speak any language. Fey's and other such things of coures have the neccessary intellegence to speak |
