Easy PD
I was told by a few DM's that some of the things I was doing in the Thundering Heart was "rocking the boat". It certainly never upset me, and I would love to see how that conversation went. Call it a "behind the scenes history lesson". I love you "swirling mist" guys and always have, and I am not trying to put a stick in your eye by asking for it, but I would sincerely like to see it. What difference would it make at this point anyway?
JJ
It's amazing to me how the internet creates chaos and confusion. Even better than us evil DM's ever could. The number of times I saw people convinced that they were being picked on, singled out, or subject to some sort of conspiracy...and most of the time it couldn't have been further from the truth.
But this one...well it really makes me smile Im afraid. Simple fact Mr Jaxon is that if you asked most of the DM's on Vives to name their favourite rp'ers, I'd be very surprised if you didn't make the top 10 of every single one of them. And probably a lot higher in most cases.
For me, so hard to say, considering how good so many were, but definitely top 5, probably higher.
There were significant issues we as DMs and Admins had to deal with. Some that were really stressful. And some that would perhaps open old wounds rather than heal them if opened up now. But I can honestly say I cant remember any of those concerning you.
The only issues we ever had to deal with that in any way concerned you were the guyvers and the black hand becoming too "guild like" and starting to recruit too widely. You and Chief were spoken to, recruiting was cut back a bit, and that was end of. And even then, you'd done nothing wrong and there was no grief involved.
Sure you went gallivanting off to places that you shouldn't of from time to time (Fiirhallen I seem to remember), but you took yer chances and rolled with the consequences. Absolutely nothing you did in game do I ever remember an issue with, and as for your out of game posts and stories...they added to Vives -nearly- as much as you yourself did in game.
Like pdw said, you'd have to really scour the DM forums to find anything bad about you, and I doubt you'd succeed.
Cheers,
Sirac |

Although Sirac and I had almost no cross over in Vives history (Sirac and Sol were leaving or had left during the week that I started playing - if I recall correctly) I agree with what Sirac says here about you Johe. You were very well regarded, and many wished you were more active.
Also, I'll let them raise their hands that told me, but several top notch RPers and Vives writers that I know of told me that they were deeply impressed by your writing and some even tried to emulate it. |

Aw shucks guys Make an old guyver blush why doncha! :P
I think I want to go back in time and change the word "negative" to something far less harsh, because I want you guys to know I never felt picked on, but I was interested in seeing the behind the scenes stuff, cus, well...a guyver likes to know stuff. And I was going to continue asking for it until I read what Sirac had to say, and realized the "wounds" you guys were talking about weren't PLAYER wounds. So I'll just shut up over here, and keep reading stuff I've been missing for years, and wondering if it would be worth it to tie up some of the loose ends I left lying around here so long ago. :)

Not sure what you mean here Johe? I -was- talking about players that might be upset if things that were said in the privacy of the DM forums were all revealed.
There are at least 3 players I count that might be upset that are still around now. But lets face it, was nearly a decade ago now, so hopefully all involved are long since over it. If anyone has anything they would like to discuss with me privately to gain final resolution, feel free to pm me.
No matter what the rumour / gossip mill might wish people to believe, the Vives DM team actually all got on really well, worked as a team, and after the initial split between Ara and Aria/Alosynth etc there were very few problems between us. Lots and lots of "discussions", but overall nearly always reached a consensus.
Just because I know some wished it to be believed otherwise, for the record Sol and I left 100% of our own accord, and on good terms with all on the team. Our only reason was DDO grabbed hold of us, and kept us busy for about 4-5 years!
That, and Rhianna being born, that also kept us kinda busy I guess! :)
Just finished my first proper evening exploring Vives as Sirac. Was kinda fun, lots of changes. Couldn't get to the fire knives base, transition didn't work. Somehow stumbled my way to Maldovia but couldn't get in there either. But some new areas and critters to play with. Was very nostalgic wandering around. :)
Cheers,

Nice. I should be along sooner or later, I've been trying to get in touch with BKatt, just to make things interesting, and trying to come up with a good reason for coming back, PLUS I still have some more reading to do to get myself back up to speed so I can be in character :)

Thanks for the bug report. I was not aware of those problems but have not been actively working on the module for over a year.
Glad you like the new areas.
Top of my list right now however are some script frameworks for Chief's new module. Don't know when I'll get to these issues. |

So, with my limited toolset knowledge, it looks like the problem with the Fire Knives is some issue with the Air Marshall's conversation. For some reason all of the "travel to" lines are greyed out in the editor. Not sure what the issue is for Maldovia, I seemed to be able to go through all the transitions in those areas.
I suppose really this stuff should go into a different thread instead of the shoutouts... |

| Just dropping by and saying hello. It has been a long time. I've actually been thinking of Vives because I've been playing Neverwinter (online) a fair bit lately. Vives was/is better, but Neverwinter takes less commitment. :) |

| I'm ecstatic to see so many of the old guard around. Its a pleasure to witness each of you waxing nostalgic about your stories in Vives. |
