Heh... nothing like searching through backpacks for healing kits while the minions are circling up around you.

Thanks to all the folks who put butts into the seats at the convocation at Ka'azim. I love that kind of stuff and I hope it paid in fun.

And nobody said "creepers"!

But somebody did say "Bereil"!

I'm shouting about some great RP with Ophelia, Tristian and Johe in Port Royale last night. We got a lot of "work" done. It seems like there's a pretty reliable bull-session in Port Royale every night around 11:00 PM EST or thereabouts. I like! Sorry I run out of steam just as you're coming onto the server JJ.

Also gotta shout about the mileage we're still getting out of the Sugar Man plot. I know DSM-IV was ready for that whole story to go away, but its still got ...

Amazing day of RP and gameplay yesterday folks, starting in the ruins with Sehran, Tristian and Alton, and then during several assassination attempts on Salt and Ophelia, with rescue action from the same bunch plus Kalid, and the services of one trap-setting powerhouse of a DM! Mr. Sprinkles you put us through the wringer. Well played sir!

Then in the evening making the rounds with Caddo. Lynaeum with Blisting and everything after. Its great when people are willing to stop in ...

Quick shout to the folks who made a pot of "stone soup" at M'Gok Tukar on Saturday - it was pretty tasty stuff. Ku'vass' outrage at Amon attending was priceless, an important moment. Folks trotted out some nice M'Gok Tukar lore and thought through some sticky problems. Well played all.

Hells yeah, last night's event was terrific.

Once again I can't say how many DMs were helping out. The setting was great - I have never seen those areas and they were adapted very nicely to be the Breath's hideout. It was all completely convincing. And somehow, even partied and with all our flashy buffs and various opponents there was almost no lag, which I think was partly owed to our party size (just about 6) but also Mr. Sprinkles' arrangements.

Everyone involved ...

Lots of fun on the server last night, the golden hour seems to be midnight EST these days (nights?)...

I love when good things happen to Timik, in part because T'mok is such a patient and consistent player. Even though he got imploded, he acquired a kick-a$ sword that might as well be a unique item on the server, which I hope makes implosion a little bit sweeter! Talion = class act.

This exchange was also precious, and I think it resulted in PvP later on. As a student ...

But who is going to lecture Salt about the perils of adventure-tourism? Who is left to do the scolding?! What kind of topsy-turvy world is this, where craven seers throw themselves into the most dangerous areas of Vives for no better reason than to see them?!

OOC: Yep, great time! All DM attention is good DM attention.

WA's a cutter!!

dangnabit man, you're huge! Salt almost converted to Vilyave last year while you were away. I mean it - cleric levels! He's like, totally in love with Alton!!

AND he's the president of Alton's fanclub.

Absolutely - thanks T'Mok (Timik), Tasra (Doctor Ticon A.K.A. "The Doctor"), WA (Pietro Danzales, neé Alton Highhill, neé Muradin Bronzebeard), Dark Lord Dave (Kai) and Talos (Mering), three of whom broke out alternative characters to help get the challenge level right; DSM-IV (Ophelia) and SpaciousQ (Serai Aquesti) for necessary backup when the challenges started to get the better of us, and Ritz (Tristian Vike) for waiting at the end.

Thanks for stepping up to ...

Quick shout to Kannendova/Egon Kelric while its fresh - thanks for the cat-and-mouse... not to mention taking Vrodo to school. A decisive victory over the forces of Helkris!!

You haven't seen the last (of Vrodo's intestines)!

Third!

Also wanted to recognize PD's ingenuity and quick thinking in Castle Valinor last week, which was a standout moment of... well, both of those things. Raising Salt and Lucifer before Talion could get his hand on them. That has stuck with me as an exceptional moment of play in Vives, a real heroic rescue. Closest thing to it in my recent memory is Sylune's rescue of Vrodo and Emma in the Hardknott Fort a few months back, which was a real fine moment.

Lastly I'm ...

Gotta shout about the travels and travails of Ophelia, Tristian and Salt. We zig-zagged across Vives and stumbled through so many scrapes and improvisations it was like watching an episode of Dr. Who (but the sets were better... much better!). Especially Whovian were some technological conceits that allowed us to finish in a reasonable amount of time. Mr. Sprinkles got us through it despite ourselves. Or was it the Butcher? It didn't seem like the Butcher... what the heck to I know.

Here's a shout to everyone who stuck through it last night, lag and all (I think it was lagging so badly even the dead couldn't stay logged in).

Paul made some comments in IRC about not bringing lag down on ourselves that I thought were pretty constructive. I'm postin' em here. After some choice wisecracks.

Huge shoutout to Renter6, Heneusa, and DSM-IV for the shenanagins last night... the snowball fight was short-lived, but well worth it. And we got to kill some mean ol' Durgazon!

That's right, all you dwarves can go back to the halls, its all been taken care of.

The moors were a great set for the meeting of Tristian, Vrodo, and a certain minotaur. That area offers complicated terrain for stalking, brush and ruins for hiding, and it ...

I really must recognize Wicked Keen's ingenuity in the face of a Kobayashi Maru-type situation yesterday in the Hardknott Fort. Wands of fear are not junk items! Sylune almost, almost saved our bacon, but for my own poor timing, twitchy fingers, and screwy hot buttons. It was a sweet plan, and on the second time through with some minor modifications it worked like a charm and got Vrodo and Emma walking again.

The factions on Vives are awesome and I'm glad Naruth's other two ...

Been thinking about this question... hard to say!

Got to go with (in no order at all):

-All five times I have encountered Jessup the Younger IG, and was completely insolent towards him.

-The first carnival and market day that Salt was a part of at the Buckshire fair grounds, where Lucius bought him out of alchemical supplies. "Shopkeeper" was pretty much the persona I had in mind when I rolled up Salt.

-Low-level adventures, whether it was ...

Thanks Talos!

Speaking of first contact... you know before I started on Vives, I didn't know you could type things into the chat bar and have those words appear above your head at dialogue. I don't think I knew about emoting either, and I certainly didn't know how to walk. Fixtrix had to explain to me about holding down the shift key, etc. So figuring out the RP capabilities of this game all happened on Vives. Maybe that's why I'm spoiled for any other server out there.

Was reading through this thread and found this note from Aesir poignant:

Trolls are no longer #1 for total kills? That's totally, utterly, and in all other ways, incontheivable. Frankly I'm disapponted - there's no excuse really. It's not like Latonei ranger membership has dwindled, or Ferein got destroyed or anything.

As Salt strutted gracelessly and gangly into Swiftfoot Glade, he found the guyver Johe Jaxon sitting on a log, waiting.

"Oi ole man," Johe said as Salt called out to him.

They had a short conversation in the time it took for Salt to close the distance between the two.

"What gives?" Salt asked. "Needed a quiet place to think?"

Caddo

Caddo comes from the political set at M'Gok Tukar, having greater than average belly (and therefore attractiveness), a sharp tongue but a reasonably calm demeanor, good listening skills, and a crafty sense for turning things to his advantage. He associates with those who can increase his prestige and cultivates friendships with powerful individuals. Before the Duergar enslaved M'Gok Tukar, Caddo had the respect of his clan, and was counted among the big-men who sat ...
