For giving me just about the biggest laugh I've ever had
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh! |
| 2. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by bennyhsrh on 11/19/2004 11:29:20 PM I agree, there are many - all of whom I've had a great time with past and present and hopefully future.
One person I ought to mention though is my 'sister'.
Elvalia wouldn't be half the person she is without Bron, come to that nor would some of my other characters who hang around with her and her clones.
Thank you Ken :) |
| 3. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by bennyhsrh on 12/8/2005 8:29:27 AM Two separate occasions, two different sets of players.
Firstly Brendyn, who was caught unawares and found himself not long after joining in some very exalted company and played beautifully, some of the best roleplaying I've seen in a while and a genuine pleasure, I hope the reward was worth it.
Secondly, Cora, Marrya and Tomi, who learned it's not always wise, whatever your feelings about elves, to wander throuigh Ferein speaking them out loud - especially if ... |

Oh dear.... now you've gone and made him mad
*waits for various pieces of WA's PCs to litter the landscape* |
| 7. | Re: Your Funniest RP Experience? Posted by bennyhsrh on 2/7/2005 4:46:26 PM There have been a hell of a lot....
I think I've mentioned this one elsewhere, but never written it up, I have to say I don't think Elvalia has ever been closer to speechless.
The log which follows is from Christmas Day/Boxing Day last year, I was tired but it sure as hell woke me (and Elvalia) up.
To set the scene, it was around about the time the demon sword was terrorising Buckshire - Johe had 'guyvered' a plan and was trying to enlist Elvalia's aid in mining ... |
| 8. | Re: Top Ten indicators that you are addicted to Vives Posted by bennyhsrh on 2/28/2005 7:36:15 AM 89. Answering a RL question with 'Aala' ((and yes I have))
90. Signing a business letter at work 'Benny' ((yep... done that too))
91. Studying passers by and calculating how many you could take down in one shot with hail of arrows.
92. Biting your tongue just on the point of addressing somebody as 'human' ((*blushes* yep, several times)) |
| 9. | Re: DMs: Insanity Posted by bennyhsrh on 10/12/2005 1:36:49 PM Bah! You cut out all my best lines! |
| 10. | Re: DMs: Insanity Posted by bennyhsrh on 10/14/2005 2:26:14 PM SNARKY? They were carefully cosidered observations. |
| 11. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 7/29/2005 2:32:37 PM Uhh, Ferein....
Tel'Ilmela's a good one, especially if you can catch it at dawn or dusk, for that matter so's Tel'Elena, but completely up to you |
| 12. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 7/29/2005 3:03:38 PM She was talking I think about what all the tools do etc, emotes, stuff like that |
| 13. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 7/30/2005 6:48:31 AM Yeah, Fenar can drink them dry, she has the appetite, gold won't be a problem.
I don't mind driving that, I'll run the Ferein banquet towards the end of the week, and the tracking stuff midweek some time probably |
| 14. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 7/30/2005 6:50:28 AM As for the CNR that's something that is probably best done IG rather than OOC hand holding - it has its critics but it DOES generate RP. |
| 15. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 8/1/2005 6:49:40 PM Exactly - I can even think of a name for the event...

| 16. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 7/25/2005 5:49:21 PM I think it's a good idea, happy to help out if you want Sol, maybe as you say just a ropes showing session but could be a Q&A one too.
Maybe hold it in the lounge, seems the ideal place to me.
Can't think of anything offhand to add to your list but will if I think of anything. |
| 17. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 7/27/2005 7:40:44 AM I think it's a great idea, as I said in IRC this morning before work rudely interrupted. Ficcy made the point though that - to some - part of the enjoyment in logging on to the world when they start is meeting the so-called 'legends' - though I wouldn't necessarily think that applies in all cases (we've all seen the posts by people saying they are put off joining in by the high level chars wandering around).
Therefore, with that in mind, a few suggestions which might appeal to both ... |
| 18. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 7/27/2005 8:55:28 AM Week commencing suits me fine, will actually be working entire week up to and including 6th August but should be free after then.
Posting on our boards in advance I think would be ideal, gives the established players we'd be looking to for involvement a chance to give feedback on when they are available.
As for advertising, as far as I'm concerned the sooner the better so yeah go right ahead. Maybe Ara could twist a few arms with his contacts at the Vault and NWC so we ... |
| 19. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by bennyhsrh on 7/27/2005 10:39:23 AM OK - since Ficcy's off on the ideas trek:
High level NPCs meeting and greeting
In my view a no no for the week we envisage. My personal preference would be that unless we arrange an event where we have asked/arranged for a particular PC to be available NOBODY should log on with a PC higher than Sean's suggestion of level 9. In the past I've done quite a bit of meeting and greeting both as player and DM and it's always worked better when I've used a lower level PC. ... |
| 20. | Re: DMs: Malakhi Aquistine Posted by bennyhsrh on 11/8/2005 3:49:08 AM Did it not occur to either of them that they can't get them unless a paladin buys them for them? LOL |
| 21. | Re: DMs: Malakhi Aquistine Posted by bennyhsrh on 11/8/2005 4:14:16 AM Help?! Is a paladin seriously going to buy one of these rings for all and sundry? Mine sure as hell wouldn't (assuming she was loyal and shopped there anyway). |
