1.Re: Technical difficulties

Well server being down is a good opportunity to do some writing. The great thing about RP on board is:

A) You have all the time in the world (well ... figuratively speaking) to think out well what you will write, review and revise reading it to yourself before posting.

B) Even if you mess up A) above You can go back and do corrections (spelling mistakes, rephrasing etc) although doubtfull people return to read a second time, but whoever comes along next will see a better ...
2.Letter to Spiritual Workshop Organizers
Posted by Dasathara on 1/12/2007 1:35:27 PM
*Letter left with Winky at Brandibuck's Hole in the Ground Inn for the organizers of the spiritual workshop the next time they happen to pass by. It is written on a scroll, the letters inside are neat, near newspaper printed style yet handwritten and the scroll itself is wrapped close, sealed by red wax with the stamp of a Serpent and a Vulture overlapped.*

I was unfortunately unable to attend the coordinated event you have arranged. Nevertheless, I have an interest of sorts in some ...

Walking into Brandibuck's Hole in the Ground, Malviki sits at the bar and beckons to Winky with a knowing move for his usual; a glass of wine.

"So, do you have any news for me?"

"Oh. No Malviki, just this one written piece from one of the attendants."

He passes the notes from under his bar to Malviki. As he unfolds them looking up to Winky with a slightly raised eyebrow.

"And who are these from?"

As he hears ...

Reading the note left by someone signed RV he mutters to himself. Green Dwarf? What's next pink Elves? He marches out of the Four Winds bemused. He only knew one Dwarf and he wasn't green. This was going to be a wild goose chase. Perhaps Kalid would have better luck, she seemed to be able to track people down effectively.

The dark clad figure stood waiting at the bar for Mr Miggins to come out so he could pay him his weekly stay in the Icy Vale Inn. Mr Miggins was taking his sweet time with something else. The cat that had become part of the furniture in the common room wandered over to his leg and sitting next to it whipped its tail at his boot. He turned a cold dark wide eyed gaze at the creature and a malicious smile formed on his lips as some thought traversed his mind. Inconspicuously feinting not having ...

Sitting in the Four Winds, a figure clad in monks clothing from the Asashi monastery takes out a small log book. Picking up a quill and placing a date at the top right corner of the first page and a heading:

“Inner Thoughts, Inquire and Review – Post Trauma Reflections”

Drawing a double line he begins making some notes below it:

Journal Entry #1

Ceaseless rain poured on the Northern Highway as seemed to almost always do. He stood just outside the Inn wearing his peasant hat. Handy it was, as it kept his robe dry. Stepping in he removed it and gave it a shake for the excess of water to fall. A dark brooding grin showed slightly on his face as he mused over the events of the past few days and what he had learnt.

Climbing the stairs to his room, he flung his hat onto his bed and slumped into the chair by the table. Removing a ...

Dipping his quill in the ink pot absently, his mind raced through his thoughts, trying to put them in order. The numbness initially caused by the information the one that called herself Annie, and the later meeting with Veshas had caused rather a turmoil. Glancing one final time at the previous entries in his journal he began writing again:

Journal Entry #3

I have visited yet once more Midor, to see the work of Lady Fri’el. It was with every intention to put my ...

Pacing through the hallway of the Asashi monastery, the lone figure clad in his usual black monastery robes stops by the alcove room, peering in. It was presently empty, but a small smile still covered his face as he looked at the growing flowers. His gaze stopped at the far top left flower pots and a frown creased his brow. That was the flower Annie had touched, instantly withering them. Despite himself, a slight cold shiver ran through him, but intrigued him at the same time.

He ...

Malviki stood at the doorway of his room in the four winds, looking out from it before closing the door, his thoughts drifting back to the other day when he had stood there watching Shard's back as he left the room after their private discussion. In most cases he would simply scoff and mock at such a person, sadly depressed by their own moral views and self imposed restrictions. However, with Shard he did not. He had formed a sort of respect for this one. Perhaps it was the common interest they ...

Getting up the following day he walked down to the Four Inn's basement that also served as temporary residence for some. She was gone. A small sensation of relief coursed through him. Reaching into his bag, as if simply to check if it was still there, his hand felt the shape of the scroll case. It was time to hand this over to the one he chose to entrust it to.

The fact that they would both be looking for him would make it easier to find him. That should not prove hard, but he also ...

The scroll is safely with the one I entrusted it with. I hope it will not be required at all, but it is a small measure of security that comforts me none the less. Now all that remains is to wait for the guests. Unfortunately it seems Balthor will not be attending as he has other matters to deal with, something to do with a newly acquired child. This will make things difficult.

Still, assuming all goes well, I must begin to look to the future. ...

Brandibuck Vale. What a shame. It was a rather amusing place, with the small people and small houses, and, well, small everything. I did partake a little at the start, even going all the way to Ferein with Annie and Feren, questioning if the Elves knew anything of the attack. I let them do the speaking of course, as I do not speak Elven. I suppose the more prominent personas will handle this now, not that I really care, it was mostly out of curiosity that ...

Relishing the taste of the wine in his mouth, he finally swallowed it. It was good, but not as good as his own, and perhaps it was time to go back to the monastery again to make some more. Slowly placing down his empty glass on the table and slouching in his chair, he stared blankly at the opposite wall of his room in the four winds, as he reminisced the past few days.

His frequent travels back and forth were tiresome, sometimes on an errand for the monastery, sometimes his own ...

He awoke with a start, sweat beads covering his face. Sitting upright in bed he gazed around the room realizing he was in the Four Winds. He stayed for a moment to dispel the drowsiness and remains of his disquieting sleep. Eventually wiping his sweat with the covers he got up and walked to the table where a broken glass and two empty bottles of wine had entertained him last night.

He shuffled through the scrolls on the desk, and finding the one he was looking for smiled to himself. ...

The figure shuffled across the Great Plains, hands folded inside the sleeves of his dark Asashi robe, his head bent slightly forward looking at the ground just ahead of him, as if he was in thought and not looking where he was going.

He was in fact in thought. A muddled thought, was it him or the other one thinking, the one who referred to him and spoke for him? Confusion and vague shadows danced in his mind, as he brought bits and pieces of recollection of the past few days.

He woke with a start, bolting upright, his head almost knocking off the wall shelf above the bed. His hand flew to his left face to soften the sharp pain. A huge bruise covered the left side of his forehead all the way down and around the eye. He traced this with care as his mind wandered, searching his inner thoughts. A voice interrupted him.

“You’re up are you lad? That’s a nasty bruise you got yourself there. I wasn’t sure when you were going to get up.”

Slowly turning ...

It was yet another day for the gnome running the inn at the Four Winds. He had finally sealed the well, after he heard what the strange young man had told him. The man had recently arrived to the northern part of Vives the past few days, dressed in a dark monastic robe and a handful of coins, and rented one of his rooms.

As most days, he came out of his room in the Four Winds Inn, and after running a few errands around the city of Port Royal, he sat at his usual table, ordering some ...

Barely had several days gone past from his return to the monastery. During those days he had mostly meditated, and sought his brethrens guidance on matters of his immediate concerns, for he had much deeper ones he alone knew of. During his first days of return, much constructive scrutiny was given to him by the one he called Teacher. He was never good with names, barely managing to provide his in his riddling mannerism. Teacher had accepted to take him in when he had come of age.

Obviously a little late to this discussion, but I would like some feedback of the quest mentioned. Albeit messing up in the first part as far as alignment is concerned, but that is another story, the options I saw was, in my best knowledge (which is definitely not a statement of claiming to be the best):

Do not report her and let her slide - CG shift
Blackmail her - CE shift

Sadly that leaves out some other combinations, ...
