Thank you to all who have graciously provided their portraits....might we now get instructions about how to use them. OH yeah, dont forget the pictures with the circles and arrows that tell us of limited experience how to use them....

Thanks,

Jody

A few thoughts.....

I feel that this thread has some interesting potential for producing dynamic reactions from all who read the visceral comments. This presents a two edged sword to cut both ways and great care must be used to wield it effectively. Let us not lose sight that there is probably more commonality amongst us than devisevness.
Now I think a donnybrook is good for clearing the air occasionally, as long as no one is attacked personally. Once personal attacks are ...

...the sun had not yet risen & the five, a dwarf, gnome, human and two elves, ate their breakfast in a back room at the 'Unicorn'. The innkeep furtively looked about, as he brought in the plates heaping with hot food. The room was deadly quiet, but for the clink of the utensils on the plates. No one was willing to break the sombre mood with mundane conversation. All to quickly, the food was gone and the moment had come...It was at this time that Jax broke the silence.....

There I was, sitting in the 'Dragon' pub of Midor, when in walks that cyclops of a dwarf with the never ending tales. Now Im in for it I thought to myself, as he headed straight my way..."Ahoy thar mate!", he says as he approaches, while he raises two fingers to the barkeep and points to my table. "Good Day to ye Jax..." I says, as he pulls up a chair and plops down after a brief struggle to get into a chair definately not designed to accomodate the dwarven race.

Posted by Daah Poppanon on 6/3/2004 2:51:26 AM
This being the story of Jax Arwylde's origins, as told to me, over a few too many ales one nite in the 'Cutlass'. Any falacies or errors are mine alone, with the ales as co-defendents.

Part 1

Borne and raised in a small fishing village along the inner sea, not far from Buckshire. His mother, Karin, had died at his birth, leaving his father, Willem, to raise him. He was wetnursed and raised beside the children of Anna, the human midwife that had attended his birth. Timmy ...

As you can see from part one, the Lad was a handful for his father. I will now resume the telling of the tale...

Part 2

After the captain went back to his boat, Jax argued long and hard with his father for a commutation of his sentence, but it was not to be. Willem helped the Lad pack a small bag with a few changes of clothes, as the captain had said little else would be needed. During this time he explained his reasons for sending Jax to sea and while they made sense to ...

For the first time in 20 years Jax was once again a landlubber. And the tale continues...

Part 3

Jax recovery was rapid and thorough, probably due to his stout dwarven heritage & his fathers loving care. But for the scar & loss of his eye, one would be hard pressed to notice any permanent damage from his 20 years at sea. There was one wound that he would carry in his heart to the end of his days, the loss of Capt. Brooks. No manner of care that his father applied ...
13.Re: Important: Crafting feedback
Posted by Daah Poppanon on 6/5/2004 5:06:08 PM
When I first came to this world, a few of my chars started getting into crafting. I have long since given it up. The reasons....& some possible solutions.

1. The lag monster was somewhat attributed to large qtys of packs filled with supplies. Goodbye packs/supplies.
1a. Not able to address this problem, as lag is way to tech for me.

2. No dependable place to buy crafting supplies. For example; the herbalist shop in Port Royale...not ...

Sorry to have to bring this up again, but my experience today leaves me no choice.
It appears that there is someone who didnt get the message about the rental chests. Upon returning to his room in the Unicorn, Jax found his chest to be missing a few items...I dont remember everything that was in there, so I dont have a complete picture of what was missing, but the 40k gold and the Mithral Longsword were definately missed. I am aware of the problem with chests, as Alo has had to fix 3 of ...

Nama'hon ye Uncles,

I am well and continue on the path you hae all prepared me for. Know that I keep you all close to me in my heart. I hope all is well in the village.

Borne of Wood Elven parents, both well versed in woodlore. His father (Anto) was a Ranger of no little reputation, who taught his son the ways of root & twig, leaf & bough. While his mother (Mara) was a Druidess with a few tales of note amongst her people also. She taught him simple healing skills, poltice from the Sage Moss, pain relieving tea from the bark of the Willow, stitching of wounds and setting of bones. None in their village were surprised when this young elf, following his ...

Nama'hon ye Uncles,
Just a short note to let ye in on how I be doing so far. I'd not be writing but for the fact that I hae gotten meself locked behind a gate that I kin neither pick the lock on, nor barsh my way out of. Jax's journey from the 'other side' to the dimness of Mirghul was over in an instant, but his nightmare was just beginning. For as conciousness & awareness rushed through his body, he soon recognized the toll paid for his folly. There on the dank floor of Mirghul lay 'Belle', seemingly overcome by the task just performed. As he stooped down to minister to her, a cold fear stabbed him in the heart...the fare she had paid in service to her Lord, was that of her life. No simple concoction of ...

Greetings all. Im now well into Nevada and can report my adventures have all been pleasant and well worth the sacrifice. I have met nothing but wonderful and truly generous people so far and my cause is well received. I am currently just outside the town of Fallon, Nevada, home of the US Navy's Top Gun fighter school. I'll be walking thru town today, and hope to have a good following.

Greetings Vives,
A short note to let people know that my chars will be off on an adventure for approx. the next 7 months, starting on the 27th of March. I will be able to visit the forums occasionally, but with no regularity.
I am about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime. I will be attempting to walk across the US, in an attempt to rally veterans to get active in this political season in the US. I will not belabor you, my friends, with a political diatribe on this site. However, ...

*OOC*
Barnas speaks rightly about the difficulties of such a character as Fri'el. Dah the Ranger's dislike of her is well known and will aid her not. Were she surrounded by enemies and near death, surely he would watch her passing with interest, then leave her to rot. (Do not mistake Dah's hatred to extend to the most excellent roleplayer Barnas, who I thank for the dynamic opponent that is Fri'el) So yes your path with Vallaesha shall be a hard one, but undoubtedly rewarding to the ...
