1.Re: Shoutouts
Posted by Baldrin on 8/15/2008 6:01:02 PM
Finally! I did it! As some of you may know, i have been bugging everyone even remotely involved in the game, with retrieving my forum password. In an act of desperation i dug deep into the most ancient of my email archives, (didn't even know they existed until recently). Lo and behold, there it was!

A shoutout to everyone who listened to my whining, and helped as best they could.

Furthermore, a shoutout to The Jester, who has made a heroic effort at disturbing the sanity ...

Shoutout roundup:

To Dasefilo and Renter6 for keeping my nose out of the dirt during our expedition yesterday.

To Frimble and Wicked Hampster for the aformentioned dungeon delve. We kick a$! And we know how to run away when overmatched, imagine that.

To the Pudding in the River. Most surprising dirtnap ever! Had me gaping at the screen for well over 5 minutes. Oh i'll get you someday...

As always, to The Jester for suberb DM'ing and storytelling. And ...

Delayed shoutouts to all i have adventured with lately, the participants of the Icy Vale investigation, and this evening to Moriarty who put up with my lousy attempts of cooperating with a rogue (but hey, we made it;)

And of course to Mr. Sprinkles and The Jester for great DM'ing.

Ah, yes, and to the one who does Avestan Ahriman (Unseemlie?) who tries to put Turandir back on track as a monk.

Are we looking at a brand new NWN in other words? To like not need NWN2. Ever?

I could do thursday. Would like it to be no later than 00:00 GMT (7pm EST?) since i have some things that need doing the following day.

Got plenty of time on this weekend though, as far as i know.

What say you?

I'm with the Jester on that one.

How's tonight? I suppose Saturday evening is a no for most, and Sunday means the GMT people won't be getting any sleep:P

I'll be on tonight anyways, and i need to see some men about a shadow;)

I'll join. Anyone else?

I'm a guessing that there will be no rest for the wicked.

Well... With The Jester on the brink of madness, we could always hope for a dirnap?

Anyone playing tonight? Was thinking about sleeping, but if there's gonna be action, i want in!

I will be playing the sombre-faced druidic monk, who tends to loose his cool when faced with spiders, the coming sunday.

Anyone else?

I have a large load of RL events happening this weekend, but make a post of the times and i'll try my best. I'd be most comfortable with Saturday (heh, i know, it's not a likely one) or Sunday (having daydreams of noon EST), but i may be able to join for shorter durations at other times.

I'm good to go this evening if anyone else is. Suddenly got some time on my hands and i'm loathe to use it for anything sensible.

Must apologize for last night. After i rebooted after one of those damned automatic updates, windows decided in its glorius wisdom not to keep a few system files. Who needs those right? Full reinstall. Wohoo.

Anewhoo! I'm up for tonight. Just tell me when.

((I post this here, rather than make a new thread, as it is essentially on the same subject. Feel free to move it to another thread, should it be suitable.))

Turandir sat in a chamber in the middle of Asashi, meditating, his mind quiet. He was illuminated from all sides, casting no shadow. If he turned to a shade himself, four of the finest of Asashi would rush forth with katana, and lop of his head. He would not to resist, if he could retain control of himself. He made a point of ...

Soon it would be too late. Action had to be taken before the Darkness broke the boundaries of Mirghul and loosed itself upon the world in force. Thus he entered the depths of Mirghul.

Long he sat unmoving humming a deep tone in rythm with the earth. Turandir had lost all sense of time when the darkness deepened. The trees where gnarled and dead, and he no longer felt the ancient life of the forest. It was like a dream. Or a nightmare.

A deep longing spread through his ...
17.Invisible ettins
Posted by Baldrin on 9/30/2008 5:55:22 AM
Lately, the ettins in the Bloodwood have taken to turning invisible. That is, not by spell or spell-like ability, but just downright not there, sometimes in the middle of combat. Not being there, does however not prevent them from damaging you, just you from damaging them. You can luckily see where they are by pressing tab and getting their nametag. So, if you see a nametag running about with no ettin attached, run away, and don't take the dirtnap like i did;) Berserkers with perma-invisibility ...

Ah, so this could happen anywhere then. Keep tab pressed, and if you see a name with no model attached, leg it. *nods*

*watches Turandir running the first Vives marathon chased by the rabid Listener mob*

Heh, point taken. Red names with no model attached then;)

The other option when this happens (for the fighter sort) is to move out of combat and then wait perfectly still when the invisible creature follows. Auto attack should kick in and start attacking back if you have no actions taking place when the first round of a new combat ...
20.Baking/food crafting
Posted by Baldrin on 9/23/2008 7:54:22 AM
Is baking a wheat bread supposed to yield any product, or is it just for fun/xp? As it is i'm given xp but no product. It's the only baking item i've managed to try since it came back, so i don't know about the others.

The scroll of fire

Wear the armour of natural perseverance and its fire will purify your heart and uncloud your vision.

To have the heart of natural perseverance is to not let your vision be corrupted by the unenlightened and the lowly. Endure wound and insult, and let it fuel your inner flame like a fresh breeze. When faced with slander, degredation and outright attack, instead of closing your heart in defense, open yourself fully, encompassing everything in the ...

I have spent some time at Asashi now. I feel more as a guest than a resident as time passes. Though having attended the communal meditations, and gone through the old martial forms morning, midday, and evening, my mind cannot find peace.

News has just reached me that Ferein has been attacked by Atalans. It seems war and turmoil is brewing outside the peace of Asashi, and i feel drawn to again be part of the world.

I have grown restless, and begun ranging the forests ...

Through sitting in midst of the world meditating on nothing, i have come to many realizations. Many a thing has come under a new light, and i here place them on parchment. These will be written in five different scrolls.

The scroll of Earth

To understand the ways of the earth, on must embody the charitable heart.

Just as Elbereth in her abundance shares her bounty with the world, so should we, her children give of ourselves.

Nohing ...

The scroll of Water

To understand the element of water one must stay on the true path, the righteous path.

Stay aware of yourself at all times, so that you do not fall into the traps of lazyness, avarice, and bad habits.

Do not point a finger at another, placing the blame of your miserable situation. The world is but a mirror of your own heart being reflected back at you from the stillness of calm water. Poking a finger in the water may disrupt the ...
