bug reports Posted: 11 Jul 2013 04:22 PM |
Just finished my first proper evening exploring Vives as Sirac. Was kinda fun, lots of changes. Couldn't get to the fire knives base, transition didn't work. Somehow stumbled my way to Maldovia but couldn't get in there either. But some new areas and critters to play with. Was very nostalgic wandering around. :)
Thanks for the bug report. I was not aware of those problems but have not been actively working on the module for over a year.
Glad you like the new areas.
Top of my list right now however are some script frameworks for Chief's new module. Don't know when I'll get to these issues.
So, with my limited toolset knowledge, it looks like the problem with the Fire Knives is some issue with the Air Marshall's conversation. For some reason all of the "travel to" lines are greyed out in the editor. Not sure what the issue is for Maldovia, I seemed to be able to go through all the transitions in those areas.
I suppose really this stuff should go into a different thread instead of the shoutouts...
Moved this to new thread. We never used to have a thread for these as bug reports were all done in game, but presume that doesnt work now. Wasn't aware anyone was still working on the module per se, or would have been more thorough in my report. :)
Was indeed Goldwing's convo that was broken for Sirac trying to get to the FK isle.
Also, the midor sewers with the dark kenku, where the entrance to the start of the FK section is located, has a ladder to the main sewers. Convo option comes up to use the ladder but it doesn't work. So only way in and out of that area is through puffin cliffs.
And my issue with Maldovia looked deliberate, the entrance to Maldovia is blocked by rubble. No way to enter the main town and Valinor castle that I could find. Went to the new (for me) Aquistine area, fought some unpleasant lass in the crypt, all that area worked fine. Though whoever put that chest of gold in the mansion, just out of reach with a taunting message is MEAN! :P
Cheers,

Also, a separate techy issue am having with NWN if anyone can help. Remembering my total techy ineptitude! :)
NWN wont launch at all from the normal menu when you click the NWN icon. It bring up the menu with play game, launch dm client, etc, etc but when I choose either option it just disappears and fails to launch.
To play I just use the NWmain icon and that launches the game straight off with no startup menu. Which is fine for playing. But would love to pop in as a DM to have a look around at whats new. And cant figure any way of launching the DM client. Any ideas?
Cheers,

Alright, I'll have to look more into the FK issue, thanks on that. As to Maldovia, sounds like you were pretty much there. There should be a transition right near that rubble that separates you from that very descriptive chest. That should allow you into the rest of the town and from there to the Castle.

If you just create another shortcut to the nwmain, and then go into the properties of that. In the "target" field, it should say "((game path here))\nwmain.exe" just add " -dmc" to the end of that line and it should load just like normal, but into the DM's client.

Just tried. Said not valid, make sure the file and path name are correct. Tried the -dmc just after the .exe, and then tried it just before. Same error both times.
Cheers for the help, any other suggestions welcome!

Strange. I sent a message, on the darker days forum, with a pic of how mine is setup. I'm not really sure why it wouldn't work. The only minor thing I could think would be maybe, did you make sure there was a space?
ie. \nwmain.exe -dmc
That's really the only thought I have. Perhaps someone knows of something else. |

Yup that's what the problem was, hadn't left a space. Told you I was techy inept! :P
Thx a lot!
