PORT ROYALE CEAN UP!

News has spread of a joint effort spearheaded by the Ports own Sir Jessup the Younger to finally clean up and rebuild the Port. Sir Jessup has been joined by such notable nobles as Madame Fausta, Lord Vanderzee and Sir Fredric Bennethsworth in project to finally get the Port back on its feet after the attack from the dreaded Atalan. The group has been angered by the apparent lack of aid the Artisi has been giving.

Lord Vanderzee was quoted as sayng the following,

"While we appreciate the presance of the noble group as of late they have merely crowded our streets and gotten in the way of many of the dock workers.."

Sir Jessup the Younger had the following to say,

"Zey arez nutin butz religiouz fanaticz! Mizta Jezzup tink they only 'erez ta recruit fer der religionz!"

Whatever the reason for their presance, the Queen has exteded her thanks to the group for the aid they have offered. The Queen has offered to build a small tempple within the Port to show her gratitude, pending approval by the city council and proper licensing fees and taxes. She did however suggest to the group to help in the rebuilding of the Buckshire Trading Post. Buckshire too has been in complete disarray since the attack. The representatives of the Artisi have yet to respond to the Queens request.

Elsewhere the Hins of Brandibuck have taken it upon themselves to rebuild their small town. Efforts have already begun with the first official turnip being replanted within the town. The halfings of the Buck have already scheduled a grand party when the town has been rebuilt. Rumors are circulatating that the one and only Nicodimous the Scribe will play the Brandibuck national anthem on the Tubaskoffoknee. Nico as you know played third chair on the instrument in the musical "Flowmar the One-Legged Goblin.

Recent reports from the Tanglewood forest suggest kidnappings and disappearences of multiple hunters and travelling merchants. There is no evidence of foul play however and the Buckshire militia has yet to come to an agreement on how to deal with the reports.

Citizens have reported that recently there has been some kind of arcane activity in the abandoned tower located in the Hellgate District of the Port. The tower at one time belonged to the mage Palfrey the Timid. Palyfrey dissappeared over ten years ago and has not been seen since. His tower has been locked down to discourage squatters. Port Royale officials are on the verge of dispatching a party to investigate the stories.

In other news Mrs. Miggins pie recipie was yet again stolen. A reward of two copper pieces and an old rusty sword has been offered.

~Port Finally Cleaned Up and Ready for Business~

Thanks to the efforts of local philanthropists and nobles including such names as Sir Jessup the Younger, Madame Fausta and others, the Port has finally been rebuilt. Already the docks are filled up with cargo and shipments. Truly these are great times in the city!

Two new shops have opened up in the Hellgate District of the Port, Cecil Grims Potions and Elixers as well as Fezzywicks Familiars. No timetable has been set on one of the more interesting shops, Lucifer's Travels. While the rumor is the famous magister has somehow harnessed the arcane power to teleport beings from one place to another, there has yet to be any proof as such and this reporter remains quite skeptical.

Madame Fausta has completed her purchase of the Port Royal Bath House and has moved it into a new location in the plaza. She is in the process of brand designing a new one but in the meantime has kept the current one open to all.

More reports are coming that there are odd happenings near the abandoned mage tower in Hellgate. Two people have been listed as missing. A pair of mages that were last seen investigating said happennings have vanished. Citizens have been warned to stay away from the tower.

Two convicted criminals have escaped the Port Royale Jailhouse. Convicted murderers Belloch Manfredy and Denther Reskin reportedly overpowered two gaurds while being transferred to a new cell. The two were last seen fleeing deeper into the slums. Efforts to find them thus far have failed. Port Royale authorities have warned citizens to be on the lookout for these villans and use extreme caution. Report an tips to Captain Jardin at the jail house.

~Brandibuck and Buckshire on the Mend~

Much like the Port the towns of Brandibuck and Buckshire have finally been repaired. Thanks to the efforts of some of the Artisi and those of Icy Vale the two towns are once again bustling.

~Strange Catlike Creatures Seen in Desert~

Reports of catlike beings seen in the Kobai desert recently have local traders nervouse. While there have been no attacks from these creatures, those that have spotted them have said that they do not look friendly. Extra protection is recommended when navigating the deserts.

~~Atalan Leaving?~~

Buckshire militia have reported that the Atalan have for the most part returned underground. There has been no sign of them in the surrounding woods in weeks. There is no explanation for this, though residents of Buckshire are not complaining. Many recall the brutal attacks upon the Trading Post, Port Royale, and other locations. What brought these attacks on is still to this date unknown. Militia have stated that though the woods are free of Atalan, they are still dangerous and caution is always recommended. The Buckshire Guardian has been put in storage for the time being and will once again be activated should the occasion rise.

~~Murderers Still at Large!~~

Belloch Manfredy and Denther Reskin are still reported at large. There have been recent reports that they are still hiding deep within the slums of the Port. A reward is being offered for those with any information leading to the arrest of these to felons.

MURDER IN UPPER PORT!

The upper region of Port Royale is shaken with the news of murder in the house of De La Garde, one of the wealthiest families of the city. The victim was no other than Sebastian De La Garde, head of the household, who was found dead in his room by one of the servants at morning.

Authorities believe the murder may have been tied into Sebastian’s notorious past as a denizen of the slums prior to his marriage with the Lady De La Garde.

The murder of Sebastian is only the most recent tragedy in a series of difficulties that plagued the family in previous years. How the family will deal with this new development is unknown, but it is no secret that Sebastian was not a popular member of the household.

Certain prominent families from upper Port Royale are pressuring authorities to increase security around the more respectable regions of the city, claiming that this murder proves they are not safe from either outside influence or the unsavory population of the slums. Others resort to employ private guards in order to protect their household.

Though not reported by members of the family, it is believed that a valuable artifact was stolen from the De La Garde house at the night of the murder. Whether the theft was intentional or an afterthought by the murderer is unknown.
