DMs: The Great Creeper

*Prods Wicked*

Info on The Great Creeper storyline goes here.

My vote is for PCs to unleash it on the RS on the Plains and put a dent in Midor's defence. Then let it rampage in the lead-up to Halloween 2008.

*Smiles sweetly*

I actually didn't think about doing anything with the Great Creeper until Talion showed interest in it IG. It's a good idea not to leave it sitting around doing nothing while so much evil and madness can be caused!

Also, we're about four months away from Halloween!

Peregrine contains a bit of information about its origin, but it mostly sits in my mind. To summarize the main points as best as I can remember them:
* Zacch (the now-deceased fellow in Paws Woods), formerly of Naillamne, studies nightmare and shadows on their behalf - possibly leading him to follow Syn.
* Zacch kidnaps the dryads of the forest to experiment with Syn's corruption; one particular dryad has her shadow "stolen" by his magic and later taken by an intruder to become a shadowdancer.
* Blood & Nightmares takes place, the Sleeper beneath Bloodwood awakens, and Zacch makes dealings with vampires that lead to his demise. The cursed dryads go free, including the one whose shadow was taken.
* The Dryad wanders and finds one of the newly-arrived creepers, which takes roots next to her tree as her new "shadow". She nurtures the creeper's darkness by spreading its corruption, making it grow to insane proportions.
* Peregrine takes place, the Dryad - maddened by the Creeper's corruption - is forced into defeat and the Great Creeper is released to the world.
* The Great Creeper spreads and blankets the whole area of Midor Woods & Paws Woods, strengthening the local corruption and haunting those who pass by.

That's pretty much the basic points of how the Great Creeper came to be.

I am for the idea of having the Great Creeper spreading to the Great Plains and be rid of the Righteous Swords - it'd be doing Midor a favor really, it must be an economical and logistic disaster to keep them there!

The idea was to run a nightmare sequence for any character unfortunate enough to pass anywhere where the GC holds sway, thus putting it on the radar as a threat on one hand, and playing a vessel to carry its influence beyond the presence of the Sunbringers and the Righteous Sword presence.

From that point on, and even including that point, any sort of madness and evil can happen that's only restrained by imagination.

Though Naillamne played a small role in the GC business, I prefer to have them take a backseat here. Maybe use them as an incentive to spark PC interest in the GC, thus leading them right to its claws (tentacles).

Salt's Nightmare
Posted: 09 Jul 2008 08:56 PM
((A Nightmare sequence for Salt, after finally catching him alone at his home doing some preparations for the evening's event.))

((Here, after about 30 minutes of waiting, Salt FINALLY rests!))

The Jester : *as you rest, you fall into a deep sleep*

Salt Sower: *snores*

The Jester : *you wake some time after... maybe minutes... maybe more... and yet you do not feel rejuvenated at the slightest*

Salt Sower: Mmmfff... back... rocks... hard... *snore*

Salt Sower: *scratches his head*

The Jester : *a shiver runs through your body... tentacles writhing restlessly in your stomach*

The Jester : *you hear a noise from above*

Salt Sower: *takes a seat to compose himself*

Salt Sower: *eyes find the ceiling*

The Jester : *a spectral white light moves at the edge of sight, once at the entrace to your lair, another moving out*

The Jester : *it moves up the ladder, gracefully climbing to the surface*

Salt Sower: *looks up the ladder rungs*

Salt Sower: *hesitates, one foot on the bottom rung*

The Jester : *a soft wind brushes the foliage above*

Salt Sower: *emerges and rubs his aching back*

((Salt gets out of his home and starts following the white shape))

The Jester : *just as you exit, you catch the white shape, moving towards Brandibuck*

Salt Sower: *cranky voice* What is the idea here, eh?

Salt Sower: Come now, I'm a busy man!

Salt Sower: *searches the perimeter*

The Jester : *a flower is picked by the white figure - lonely and beautiful - and it moves on towards the main village*

Salt Sower: Talion?

((Talion logs in around here, and walks in Brandibuck - since Salt is dreaming, I couldn't allow them to interact there))

The Jester : *you do not see each other*

The Jester : *The white figure moves on, towards swiftdale, in a slow and steady pace*

Salt Sower: *looks past Talion*

The Jester : *You see Talion, but he moves past you, looks through you*

Salt Sower: Say now, just a moment!

The Jester : *in fact, every single soul in this place does not seem to recognize your presence - they go about their daily lives*

Salt Sower: I say, stop!

Salt Sower: *moves quickly past the hin who ignore him*

The Jester : *you catch the white figure climbing the hill*

The Jester : *the figure mounts one of Natalie's horses, and rides towards the Mirghul path*

((I wanted to get rid of the distance between he and the Deep Forest quickly and make him follow with a horse))

The Jester : *the wolves look in your direction, but do not seem to acknowledge your presence - they do not hunt, merely skulk around the forested grounds*

((Started disabling the creatures' AI so they wouldn't attack him))

The Jester : *Natalie smiles a ghostly smile at you*

Salt Sower: *backs away and heads for the Mirghul Forest trail on foot*

((He's too scared to go on her horses! I must have done something right there.))

The Jester : *the air is still, the forest is quiet*

The Jester : *bears, digging in the bushes, make not but a sound*

The Jester : *the figure moves past the forests of Eastern Mirghul*

Salt Sower: *looks east towards the forest*

Salt Sower: *crouches and looks south between the tree trunks*

The Jester : *ravens stare at you from their treetops*

Salt Sower: *glances about the Eastern Mirghul*

Salt Sower: *strides on boldly as though invisible*

((The goblins have their AI disabled as well, so they ignore him))

The Jester : *as you enter the forest, you see the spectral white form swallowed by the inner light of the Sunbringer Caverns*

Salt Sower: Sunbringer?

The Jester : *the star-like light that fills the cavern with its brilliance appears hollow, empty*

The Jester : *it feels almost vacant*

Salt Sower: *examines the circle of light*

The Jester : *the Sunbringers continue to guard this outpost with their ever-vigilant eyes*

Salt Sower: *searches for the white ghost figure*

Salt Sower: Hello?

The Jester : *from the other side of the cavern, the white shape stands in contrast to the grey and blackness of the Syn Cliffs*

Salt Sower: *looks doubtfully out towards the cliffs*

Salt Sower: Can I know, if this is nightmare?

The Jester : *one of the Sunbringers looks at you - not through you, AT you... but the gaze is disturbingly vacant*

Mirghul Sunbringer: Guard yourself, Seer. Beyond lies danger.

Salt Sower: *vacant reply* I am... aware.

Salt Sower: *parts the wards like a beaded curtain*

Salt Sower: Who are you? Why do you lead me toward this terrible place?

Salt Sower: *wishes for his staff*

The Jester : *the white figure walks towards the forest, a beautiful assortment of light moving above it*

((Reference to the staff, but still vague))

Salt Sower: Wait!

Salt Sower: *creeps into the wood*

The Jester : *the female figure moves west, carrying a beautiful staff*

((He's in the Deep Forest now, with Greater Sanctuary, and I started giving more obvious clues as to what the white thing is))

The Jester : *and suddenly, a scream*

Salt Sower: *rushes to regain sight of her*

The Jester : *the figure runs south*

The Jester : *towards Elbereth's Tears*

The Jester : *you hear a mighty clash*

((Renter enters the Tears. He started moving very fast here, and I could barely keep up))

The Jester : *blood soaks the floor, and within the puddle something floats*

Salt Sower: *searches the ground for some sign of what has happened*

The Jester : *is appears to have once been pure white...*

The Jester : *it raises odd memories within you. you know that cape*

The Jester : *trails of blood lead west*

Salt Sower: *peers from around the corner of the bridgehead*

Salt Sower: ..how can this be?

((Salt sees Blanche La Belle with two knights at her side and a supremist))

The Jester : *you see Blanche La Belle, fighting and struggling, mortally wounded, carried towards Midor by the red knights of Midor*

Salt Sower: W-where... Stop! Stop!

((Blanche & Company are sent to Limbo, and Salt gives chase. Just as he reaches where they were, applied tentacle effect on him))

Salt Sower: Wh-

Salt Sower: *grasps at the writhing shadows as they fade*

((Salt is jumped back to his home and "wakes up"))

The Jester : *you wake from a deep slumber - whether this was a nightmare, or premonition, you cannot say*

The Jester : *a shiver runs through your body... tentacles writhing restlessly in your stomach*

Salt Sower: *grasps his stomach uncomfortably*

Salt Sower: ...oof... *removes his cumbersome robes and pulls on something lighter and simpler*

Salt Sower: *paces around his habitation*

Salt Sower: Talion?

Salt Sower: I am fellow... barely.

Talion Deraith: Ah. Good. I came by earily and you were napping.

Salt Sower: Was I?

Salt Sower: *looks at the shield raised around Talion's body* ...the rain?

Talion Deraith: *He glances at the shield and nods* Yes. I wanted to make sure you were recovering alright from those flame.

Talion Deraith: *he waves it off*

Salt Sower: None the worse for wear, fellow, though I've exhausted much of my healing materials in treating myself.

Salt Sower: Still, I've some things to take up the Fiirkrag, when the time is finally here.

Salt Sower: I just now woke from a damnable nightmare, fellow.

Talion Deraith: Another vision? Or just a dream?

Salt Sower: *cups his belly with his free hand* A dream, I hope. Torment, coming from the great darkness that rises up in the deep forest of Midor.

Salt Sower: Nightmare in the truest sense, you see?

Talion Deraith: *he frowns while nodding*

Salt Sower: I saw Blanche La Belle martyred to the Aristi cause. She and the staff were taken, captured, to Midor.

Talion Deraith: Blanche... she's one of the leaders who rebeled against Midor?

Salt Sower: *nods* The leader, or close enough. She and Byron head the entire movement. Blanche is Byron's counterpart, and her staff...

Salt Sower: *hesistates*

Salt Sower: *waves a hand over the fire*

Talion Deraith: Its alright.. The nightmares are... *he shrugs* Just that really.

Salt Sower: In her staff she holds the counterpart to the thing that was lost, in Rosen's betrayal. If the thing she took from the Kobai tomb really was the sword of Marcus Aristi, it is matched with the staff... The staff... I knew it immediately.

Salt Sower: *looks suddenly to his hands and particularly what is held in his left*

Salt Sower: *rubs his fingertips together examining them*

Salt Sower: *wipes his hand unconsciously down the front of his robe dismissively*

Talion Deraith: Speaking of staves. I thought perhaps you should take this one.

Salt Sower: What's that?

Talion Deraith: I doubt it will help whats already happened, but it might protect your mind from illusions in the future.

Talion Deraith: *he offers it up to be examined*

Talion Deraith: What was that?

Salt Sower: I suppose I ought to acquire something more... sophistocated than this simple stave of ironwood.

((Tries to scare Tal a bit too. Desthdes appears right behind Salt so only Tal can see, and limboes out. Tal panics.))

Salt Sower: Tal?

Talion Deraith: Whats wrong?

Salt Sower: I ought to ask you the same question.

Talion Deraith: Didn't you hear that?

Salt Sower: I thought it was the staff that you held out for my inspection.

Talion Deraith: .... odd. Never did that before. *he holds it up again*

The Jester : [Tell] *more than the faint sounds is the faint image of the grinning skull, staring at you over the Seer's head*

Salt Sower: Well look at that... I've heard of these staves..
.
Salt Sower: *tries it out*

Talion Deraith: *he jumps backwards as the staff falls from his grip*

Salt Sower: Tal?

The Jester : [Tell] *it is already gone now*

Talion Deraith: *he shakes his head and mutters a quick ward*

Salt Sower: Here.... take it back!

Talion Deraith: No.

Salt Sower: No? Why not fellow?

Talion Deraith: It... I saw... *he shakes his head* Its gone now.

Salt Sower: You'd better take this back! Hold it close!

Talion Deraith: *he takes the staff and looks at it*

Salt Sower: What do you think that was all about?

Talion Deraith: *he frowns* I saw a skull floating over your head for a moment.

Salt Sower: *feels his head* My cranium is intact!

Talion Deraith: *he shakes his head* Its what I always see.

Salt Sower: It isn't jumping out of my... well, its right here! *knocks on his dome with his knuckles*

Salt Sower: ow!
Talion Deraith: *he offers a faint smile*

Talion Deraith: But anyway.. I think you should take this. Your visions are important to all of us.

Salt Sower: Who knows how it may help...

Salt Sower: But if you insist...

Talion Deraith: *he backs quickly away eyeing the ground behind Salt*

Salt Sower: Yet... my will is-

((Tried to see if Shadow Mastiffs are really scary. Spawned one, possessed it, and told Salt he doesn't see it. Just Talion))

Talion Deraith: .... do you... do you see that?

Shadow Mastiff: *moves around Salt*

Salt Sower: What is it?

Talion Deraith: One of those hounds!

Shadow Mastiff: *eyes gleaming like fiery rubies, teeth white like the fangs of demons*

Salt Sower: Here?!

Talion Deraith: *his hand drops to his sword*

Shadow Mastiff: *it walks before the mirror, but without reflection*

Shadow Mastiff: *it turns*

Talion Deraith: Don't you see it?

Shadow Mastiff: *and lunges at your throat!*

((Limboed the Mastiff right then))

Salt Sower: *turns the mirror around*

Talion Deraith: *His sword raises in defense*

Salt Sower: *sights Talion sword drawn* Tal?!

Talion Deraith: *he looks about wildly for an opponet*

Salt Sower: *pans around the room in the dressing mirror, making a thorough inspection*

Salt Sower: I can't see anything fellow

((That was the last bit of experimenting with nightmares. The rest of the way they chat around a bit, get hassled by an imp, and ask Ladriel for advice about the demons.))

That's really, really good.

Well done WA.

Purpose in life: finding better ways of allowing players to kill themselves. Repeatedly.

More Nightmares!
Posted: 12 Jul 2008 10:52 AM
The Jester : *as you rest, you doze into a deep sleep*

[starryice] The Muse : Reverie. Elves don't sleep.

The Jester : *your deep medidation drags you deeper and deeper, and when you wake, you do not know for how long you have been out*

The Jester : *seconds? minutes? hours? all you feel is the sweat rolling down your forehead, and dark tentacles moving restlessly in your stomach*

The Jester : *you wake*

Amon: *blinks and looks up at the rain*

The Jester : *from Mirghul, the cry of a great beast draws your attention*

Amon: *shakes his head to clear it*

Amon: *listens*

The Jester : *the feeling in your stomach passes quickly, replaced by an even greater strain as shadows gnaw on your connection to nature and Elbereth*

The Jester : *two great draconic beings fly overhead towards Elbereth's Tears*

Amon: *hand to his stomach a moment and he looks aorund in confusion*

Amon: What is going on here!

The Jester : *the powerful red of the poppies has lost its former vigor, and now looks dark and sludgy as blood*

The Jester : *hounds wail at the sky*

The Jester : *you hear a soft, hoarse whisper...*

The Jester : "Amon...."

Amon: *looks around*

The Jester : *it came from everywhere, and nowhere*

Amon: What.. who is there?

The Jester : *ravens look up at you from their perches upon treetops, their eyes piercing you like darts*

Amon: *looks at the ravens*

The Jester : *the voice whispers again, faint and weak* "Amon... Child..."

Amon: *blinks and looks around more*

The Jester : *another cry echoes through the forest*

Amon: What or who are you, what do you want from me?

Amon: *turns at the sound and rushes off after it*

Amon: *tries to figure out the direction of the source of the sound*

The Jester : *the cry came from southeast, and another follows close by it*

The Jester: DMFI Sound FX Wand : Do you need to place another sound?

The Jester : *from the direction of Elbereth's Tears*

The Jester : *the goblins stare past you*

The Jester : *in the Sunbringer caverns, the light appears dead and hollow - it washes the tunnels with its brilliance, yet only overshadows your senses*

The Jester : *you hear another hoarse whisper*

Amon: *listen*

The Jester : "Child... the Mother needs you..."

The Jester : *suddenly, all sounds quiet down*

The Jester : *the druid lies dead, her blood sucked out of her veins*

Amon : [What is going on here.]

The Jester : *her body is pale and shrinked, wrinkled like a dried fruit*

Amon: Sister.

Amon: *bends down and checks the body*

The Jester : *tentacles lash at you*

The Jester : *they stretch and reach for the blood around you, sucking it dry*

Amon: the void... here... no!

The Jester : *a few remaining trails of blood lead further on*

Amon: No, I will not allow this, I will not!

The Jester : *there is no blood here*

Amon: Nariel!

The Jester : *Nariel lies dead, wrinkled and sucked dry like the others*

The Jester : *the signs of battle surround her*

Amon: *pulls a scroll from his pack*

The Jester : *she remains dead, tentacles lashing out at the energies you release - swallowing them dry*

The Jester : *a voice comes from inside the cavern*

The Jester : "Child... I am dying..."

(Amon enters the Chamber of Sorrows and finds at the center a White Stag facing a Nightmare Stalker.)
(Silmarwen and Itarille, both dragons, are dead at each side, and blood is everywhere.)

White Stag: Child....

White Stag: I am sorry...

Amon: No!

Amon: You dare defile this place dare strike at the mother in this way!

The Jester : *tentacles surround you, wrap you in a coccoon of darkness*

Amon: *struggles against them*

Amon: No! NO! This can not be!

(He wakes up)

Amon: *bolts upright still in a panicked struggle*

The Jester : *you wake from your meditation, how long has it been?*

The Jester : *seconds? minutes? hours? all you feel is the sweat rolling down your forehead, and dark tentacles moving restlessly in your stomach*

Amon: *shakes his head and wipes sweat from his face*

* * * * *

Talion Deraith: *he sets them aside as he leans back for a nap*

The Jester : *the nap quickly turns into a deeper sleep, taking you down a dark and dreary path*

The Jester : *you wake from your deep slumber, your whole body soaked with sweat; dark tentacles squirming in your stomach*

The Jester : *there is a commotion from outside*

Brandibuck Guard: 'ey mate!

Talion Deraith: Keep away from me!

Talion Deraith: I'll cut you all to pieces if you come any closer.

Brandibuck Guard: Relax! It's all good!

Brandibuck Guard: Our Lord is coming!

Brandibuck Guard: And 'e's bringing the Avatar!

Talion Deraith: *his voice is near panic shouting to rise over his crackling blade*

Brandibuck Guard: The Avatar of Eternity, right 'ere in Brandibuck!

Talion Deraith: He can't come here! He is bound!!

Talion Deraith: Get back!

Brandibuck Guard: *laughs a sickly wet laugh* That's done with years ago, don't ya remember?

Talion Deraith: *he holds up his sword*

Commoner, Halfling Male: I bet 'e's an oldie.

Talion Deraith: Get away from me!

Commoner, Halfling Male: They forget quickly.

Commoner, Halfling Male: No matter. You can beg our Lord and God to restore you!

Commoner, Halfling Male: Life... heh... unlife only got better when Desth'des destroyed the other gods and took over Vives, didn' it?

Talion Deraith: I'll destroy you and your Lord!

Commoner, Halfling Male: 'e's coming over from the north. Everyone's gonna see 'im, but I don't like the crowd.

Commoner, Halfling Male: You should go.

Brandibuck Guard: Oi.

Brandibuck Guard: Wait 'ere.

Brandibuck Guard: Desth'des is comin' with the Avatar! You don't wanna miss it!

Brandibuck Guard: Get past the gates. Everyone's waitin' for him there.

(Talion tries to go outside, but only Brandibuck has the spooky undeath fog and zombies)

The Jester : *crowds of undead quickly gather around the gates*

(Zombies and skeletons gather around the gates)

Talion Deraith: *he looks around wildly*

The Jester : *they seem very excited*

Talion Deraith: *his sword waves from one target to the next*

Skeleton: He's coming! He's coming!

Zombie: I see him!

Zombie: *limps*

Zombie: He's here!

Talion Deraith: *he looks around wildly trying to find an escape but his vision is drawn to the gates*

Desthdes: MY FOLLOWERS! MY BELIEVERS! MY SUBJECTS!

Desthdes: I COME HERE BEFORE YOU THIS DAY, BEARING THE GIFTS OF UNDEATH! THE GIFTS OF ETERNITY!

The Jester : *the crowd cheers* "HAIL DESTHDES! HAIL ETERNITY!"

Desthdes: THOUGH MY FIRST AVATAR SENT INTO RUIN, I HAVE TRIUMPHED NONETHELESS!

Desthdes: ELBERETH, DESTROYED. AROS, DEVOURED INTO MY VERY ESSENCE. SYN, TOSSED INTO THE VOID.

Desthdes: THE THREE SISTERS, BROKEN BY A FOURTH ENEMY GREATER THAN THEIR MIGHT COMBINED.

Talion Deraith: *he looks around madly, his eyes wet and his head drops froward as he weakly slips his blade into its sheath*

Desthdes: TARIK, THE HUNTER, TURNED PREY AND HUNTED!

Desthdes: GRUIN, THE BEAST, OF LIFE AND DEATH, WHO HAD NO PLACE IN THE REALM OF UNDEATH.

Desthdes: MIDORAN, THE "JUST" HAND, IMPOSTOR, TYRANT, JAILOR, WHO COULD NOT ACCEPT THE EMANCIPATION I OFFERED.

Desthdes: THE ARISTI, WHO COULD NOT ACCEPT ME AS THEIR GREATER GOOD.

Desthdes: WHO STANDS BEFORE ME? LORD OF UNDEATH? LORD OF ETERNITY? WHO STANDS BEFORE MY AVATAR?

Desthdes: NONE THIS DAY, AS VIVES IS ETERNAL, VIVES IS FREE.

Desthdes: GIVE YOUR RESPECTS TO HIM, MY SUBJECTS, MY FOLLOWERS. GIVE YOUR RESPECTS TO THE MAN WHO ONCE WAS THE AVATAR OF WAR, THE GODSLAYER, NOW THE AVATAR OF ETERNITY!

The Jester : *the crowd cheers* "HAIL TALION! HAIL THE AVATAR! HAIL ETERNITY!"

Talion Deraith: *his head jerks upright looking in horror*

Talion Deraith (Clone): *raises Pandemonium up in triumph*

Talion Deraith (Clone): Today, the tenth year over the fall of the last god, Theus, we come before you our followers and our friends!

Talion Deraith: ..... *he shakes his head*

Talion Deraith (Clone): *he looks around at the crowd*

Talion Deraith (Clone): This is the gift of our lord, Desth'des, the gift of eternity!

Talion Deraith (Clone): Let those who cling to life be destroyed. Let them be purged from this world of forever.

Talion Deraith (Clone): *he notices Talion*

Talion Deraith (Clone): SUCH AS HE!

Talion Deraith (Clone): BLASPHEMER!

Desthdes: *turns*

Desthdes: BLASPHEMER!

Talion Deraith: ... No... Your not me!

The Jester : *the crown turns to you and screams* "BLASPHEMER!"

(Talion gets paralyzed)

Desthdes: BLASPHEMER!

Desthdes: STRIKE HIM DOWN, MY AVATAR!

Desthdes: LET THE LAST BEACON OF LIFE BE VANQUISHED!

Talion Deraith: *his hand drops to his sword but can not seem to draw*

Talion Deraith (Clone): *raises Pandemonium*

Talion Deraith (Clone): FOR DESTH'DES! FOR ETERNITY!

Talion Deraith: Stop!

(Talion gets killed by Talion)

The Jester : *the crowd cheers* "HAIL ETERNITY!"

The Jester : *darkness creeps over you*

((Talion finds himself in a nightmarish version of the Fateful Dream))

The Jester : *the book reads...*

The Jester : "The fate you make..."

The Jester : "Is a lie..."

Zarathustra: *smiles at Talion*

Talion Deraith: .... am I dead?

Zarathustra: *her eyes turn red*

Zarathustra: Who are you, Talion Deraith? What is your fate?

Talion Deraith: I don't know... It wasn't my fault!

Zarathustra: Your fate...

(Zarathustra disappears, replaced by Desth'des)

Desthdes: YOUR FATE IS MINE!

Talion Deraith: *he bumps into the book trying to back away*

The Jester : *dark tentacles wrap over you, trapping you in a coccoon of darkness*

The Jester : *you wake from your sleep, drenched in sweat; dark tentacles squirming in your stomach*

(For the record)

In an act of nightmare-induced poetic justice, Salt will probably be the one to lead the Greater Creeper to the RS, where it will have a lovely snack with some tea. He'll effectively "carry" it there.

That clears up that area for PCs to wander around in again, puts a Player-induced dent in the RS, and ties in with his nightmares.

Sayeth the WA:

Amon will be leading the GC to Syn's Cavern and driving the Sunbringers out. It will be reverted to its former state as a place of Syn.

As a consequence of him assuming he was invulnerable and trying to tackle the GC using the "let's bash the crap out of it with magic" method.

Righteous Swords wiped out.

Well, not completely. The encampment on the Plains is gone now, either devoured by the Great Creeper (thanks to Salt) or fled back to Midor.

The "Onyx" outpost is IG as of v3-24-6 via a tiny transition in Midor Deep Forest.

Nominating for the public forums.

We basically let our new DMs do whatever they want. There are no guidelines saying, hey, take it easy and stick to simple one-off interceptions, or only stick to these areas and avoid the ones with lots of continuity (Midor, Ferein, Menarok/PR). If a DM has an idea, we don’t care how long they have been on the team, we usually let them run whatever they want to run and try to correct any continuity or thematic inconsistencies before it goes live. Depending on what they’re doing there might be some supervision, but this is one of those examples where we gave our newest DM free reign to do whatever he liked.
