Danariel Moonbow Posted: 03 Nov 2003 08:43 PM |
Based my format off of Arizzle:
Danariel Moonbow
At a glance:
-Elven Female, 110 years old. -Raised in Ferein, follows Aros and the way of the Bow.
Physical Characteristics: -Tallish for an elven lass, but slender (5’4”, 105 lbs) -Pale skin, rosy complexion -Medium Brown hair, past her waist but kept neatly in a braid. Very large, expressive blue eyes that give an impression of childlike innocence, and makes others want to protect her. -Right handed, with a beautiful script. Prefers the Long Bow for ranged fighting, and two Katanas, perfectly balanced, for melee range. -Favorite color is blue. If able to choose the color of her clothing, will probably be in shades of Blue-green-purple. -Rarely if ever wears makeup. She is unaware of her “charms,” and so knows nothing about making the most of them. Only flirts and teases in comfortable situations, with those she knows well, and feels safe around. -Very soft spoken at first, she loosens up only when with friends. Her laughter, however, is louder than one might expect, almost boisterous. Her sense of humor is slightly off kilter. -Typically wears a soft, somewhat mischievous smile, as if she knows something you don’t. Her eyes usually sparkle with good humor. When laughing, her face glows. Does very good “Puppy-dog eyes.”
Personality -At first meeting, Danariel is shy and quiet. She listens to everything around her, and is constantly taking her cues from others. Once she gets to know and trust someone, however, her personality begins to shine. As a friend, she is loyal and trustworthy, a marvelous listener and shoulder to cry on. She is very protective of those in need of it, and will fight in her friends’ defense. -She desires to find a teacher. Her skills have outstripped local teachers (that her parents could afford) so she has left home to see if she can find a mentor, one who will take her on for the love of teaching. -She is very unsure of herself, and afraid to “act out” in public, around those who don’t know her, for fear of being disliked. Has an almost pathological need to be accepted. She is very aware that people are watching, and cares what they think about her. She was the younger of two girls, and the favorite, but was not always popular with her peers. -She is in love with the idea of love, and thinks that a partner will automatically do what is right. As a consequence, she has had her heart broken several times. She held on to these relationships even when it was plain to everyone around her that she was being sorely used, to the point of lying to herself and others for the object of her affections. Only after abject betrayal did she “wise up” and cut herself loose from the last relationship. However, she considers herself an “Eternal Optimist,” and refuses to give up. Maybe next time? -When in friendly, safe company, she responds to teasing or flirting “in kind,” with a keen wit and good humor. Not easily offended by the ribald humor of male friends, she can be treated as “one of the guys” with little risk of angering her. However, if the teasing turns ugly, or is from a hostile source, she will do one of two things…either clam up, and shrink down inside herself, or use her rapier wit to wound. -A follower, rather than a leader, she is much more comfortable taking orders than giving them. Perhaps, when she has learned a bit more about the world, she will become more comfortable with command.
Family, Relationships, & History
-The youngest child of doting parents, Danariel was given the best education her parents could afford. When her love of the Bow, and affinity with Nature was noticed, her father tracked down his own mentor to instruct her. -Once she has absorbed as much as her local (and affordable) teachers can impart, she decided to leave home to see what the world can teach her. She is still searching for a new mentor, one who will take her on not for money, but based upon her own scholarship. -As quiet as she is, she finds friends (or at least friendly acquaintances) easily. -She doesn’t play an instrument, but her voice, while untrained, is haunting and sweet. If she is not paying attention, and is conent, she will often hum whatever tune has most recently stuck in her head. If she knows the words, she will sing quietly. Often, when her companions hear her, they exhort her to sing for them. -Has an absolute weakness for chocolates and hard candy. If she allowed herself to indulge as frequently a she craved, all her teeth would rot from her head!
Particular, Observable Quirks
-If her hands are otherwise unoccupied, she will play with her braid, fingering the end of it, and tickling her own nose with it. If it is down, she will twirl a lock of it between her fingers. -If in an uncomfortable situation, her eyes roam, never lighting in one place for long. Flick, flick, flick, looking for something to comfort her. -If all is well and there is nothing else to occupy her mind, you might hear her humming faintly. It merely means all is right with the world.

Yes, it's a custom Portrait, I'll have to find the source unfortunately. I might be able to zip it and email it somewhere, as well. Will have to hunt for it.
Edit: Wow, found it just that quick! It's on the Vault:

Re-Edit: Darn, can't get the image to show here like Alosynths'. /re-edit

Neek, I'd LOVE a proper bow! My first love in game is a bow, as I like to do as much damage from a distance as I can, and keep the beastie occupied so my companion (to be) and teammates take as little damage as possible. Unfortunately, I'm in Midor right now (my first death was in the Well at Four Somethings Inn, I was going to head for you from there but woke up in the infirmary.) Bummer. Will have to see if I can catch a ride up there. tonight! Thanks!

Almost forgot *blushes* Very nice background, Dana.....reminds me exactly of the Danariel i've met in-game. |

Perfect! Thanks, Alosynth! Now, hopefully everyone will download the portrait, and can see me in game. I hadn't realized I was showing up as a blank (I had thought this was one of the ones from Vives' portrait pack.)
Sorry I didn't make it online last night, guys. I was feeling very under the weather yesterday, and needed sleep. Hope to see you all on tonight!
Also, Since i have played with some of you guys, am I doing ok on the RP? I don't think I've EVER RP this heavily, since I wasn't on a RP server in DAOC, and even PnP I hadn't read a role playing guide. So, am I doing ok? And do I seem to be following my profile up there?
Danariel Moonbow
(Hehe, looking for acceptance...that's not just one of my character's traits, it's one of mine, as well. Knowing how little I've actually role played, this character is like an idealized version of me, so I shouldn't "fall" ooc very often.) |

| I did have that portrait in my folder, but I have no idea if it was in the portrait pack or not. Now that I see it I knew which one you were talking about, but up untill then I was drawing a blank. |

Hehe, thanks for the help with the photo, now I have a pic in my sig just like you!
However, it seems determined to cut off my quote. Oh well. Yes, Heinlein is still one of my favorite authers, as well. I like both his older stuff, and the newer stuff as well. I especially love the Howard Families books (Starring Lazarus Long.)
If Tasra reads this, I think I know whowas interested in what I read on my Application responses (since Kender was mentioned as the source for curiosity.)
I read Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, Mercedes Lackey, R.A. Salvatore, The Rhapsody series (can't remember the author's name), James Clemens (the Wit'ch books), Laurel K. Hamilton (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter and Merry Gentry), M.R Sellars (Rowan Gant Investigations), Anne Rice, Terry Pratchett (Disc World) Geroge R.R Martin (Game of Thrones series and Wild Cards editor), and a plethora of other authors. I read, and if I really like them, I re-read. I'm currently on about the 6th or 7th reading of the Anita Blake books.
