Well, this isn't so much a flame as just certian things that seem a bit silly with NWN. And coming off a pointless respawn with Talion I figured this might be a good way to get rid of some frustration. *sighs* Missed my save vs. death by one point against a prismatic spray.
Anyway... heat seeking boulders??? Seriously, I know they don't do a whole lot of damage but why is it giants ... just regular old non magic giants have a ranged weapon that can't ever miss, and that even saved does half damage? I get the half damage thing.. I mean even if you dodge a boulder it can still hurt if it hits close by, but that it /always/ hits and /always/ does damage (aside from improved evasion)... thats just stupid.
Ok.. how about fighting styles? I know more then one of my characters rely on special combat feats almost exclusively, and yet they are constatly switching off in the middle of combat if the system takes half a second to register there is another enemy not only does the feat turn off but since you go straight into an attack round you have to wait the entire round to put it back on. For Talion this is especially bothersome. He practices both offensive and defensive styles (Improved power attack/ Improved expertise) depending on the situation. The loss of 10 ac in the middle of the fight has killed him more times then I can count. Just seems like these feats which are really fighting styles should remain active unless player deactivated.
And to finish up how about BioWare introduced items with pointless properties on them... The Rifthome Axe is the one that comes to mind but I know there are more. Its throwing axe with enchantment +3 and mighty +3. I mean, they designed the game right? And they are apparently unaware that throwing weapons have unlimited mighty just like melee weapons.
Well, thats all I've got for the moment... *sighs* Don't feel entirely better about loosing 11,000 experience but helps a bit. Feel free to add to this list if you've noticed something stupid about NWN and feel like getting it off your chest.
