Reynold

There it was.

I had just hacked my way through countless leagues of undead. My sword was stained with the black ichor of a thousand dead things, their tortured souls severed from their unholy anchors, finding finally a bit of respite from their suffering. My armour was covered in the viscera, the bits and.. chunks.. of fetid flesh flying from the wounds my blade had scored. I would be picking... things... out of my hair, for nigh on a week.

There, the keep stood before me, its inhabitants whispering their tortured song into my ear, luring me to their fate. All I could hear was their desperate cries.

Cries begging to be cleansed.

I summoned my faith, concentrated on all that is righteous and good. I compelled the light to restore my wounds, to restore my strength, that I might press on, that I might continue doing the work of justice. I prayed, I searched myself, I implored to the spirit of all that is good, that if my path is truly that of righteousness, that I might focus my will on my blade, that it might burn with holy might, that I might cleanse the hated undead from this dark place that their souls might finally find rest.

I looked behind me. A myriad of cruel, relentless creatures behind, my body and mind tested to its limits already. What terrors might lie inside? What is form of this shadowy stronghold's sinister sovereign?

Alliteration. Nice.

Kicking open the door, I stalked inside. This would be my most dangerous mission yet.

The dark things that dwell within the Manor of Carfax Town would know the blade of Reynold, Hero of Vives, this night.

Man, am I heroic.

A poorly furnished tavern room in Port Royale. A bed, a chair, and a table. Various parchments are spread over the table, outlining various notes and observations.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY IN OR AROUND THE CITY OF PORT ROYALE:

A polite half-orc blacksmith with excellent prices, and a protege'?

A well-dressed polite half-orc with white hair... Suspiciously dressed female halfling suffering internal injury... In an alley...

A goodly wizard with a debilitating wasting disease? Curse? Uncurable by normal means?

A... person dressed entirely in dark black clothing, saying very little.

Port Royale seems to attract shady characters, and peculiar half-orcs.

MORAL QUANDARIES:

Port Royale mine is closed by order of the queen, but contains evil beasts inside. Obey the law, or protect the people?

Looting areas controlled by evil; all treasure contained within must have belonged to someone, but it would be impossible to find the original owner. - Treasure can assist with overall quest to further the cause of righteousness.

Working with (potentially) unsavory characters; is it right to work with them as long as they behave, or should they be avoided entirely? Should consider that they are assisting (at least temporarily) in furthering the cause of good and justice. Ends sometimes justify the means? - To a limit.

Aggressive Animals - Giant Bugs, Angry Wildcats, Territorial Bears, Hungry Wolves - Actively cut down, or only in self-defence? They present a danger to the innocent if they wander too far, but they are not actually evil... - Put up signs?
