The Heresies of Faith – excerpts from the recent publication of the White Bishop Vidus Khain

Blessed are the people who Midoran calls His own. The enemy of His people shall fall, and their lands shall be called Enscery, which means, “Barren Forever.” Woe to those who find solace in beings other than Midoran, for they revel in sin. Not the sin of worshiping beings that claim to be gods, who try to claim Midoran’s divine glory for themselves, but sin for not recognizing the overwhelming presence of Midoran.

These are the Heresies of Faith, revealed to me, a servant of Midoran, from the mouth of the Just Hand. I have come to complete the knowledge of Midoran and have been commissioned by the Great God Himself to spread the knowledge from his blessed lips….

Let it be known that the existence of the so-called Gods, of Elbereth and Aros, of Menarok and Gukathul, are heresies against Midoran, the one true God.

The Heresy of Elbereth, Aros, and Tarik

Midoran, in his divine mercy, millennia ago choose to bring his grace to the elvish people. But they were an evil people, and were too prideful to submit to Midoran’s supreme authority. And so they invented gods, who are in fact nothing more than aspects of Midoran’s power. For Midoran’s supremacy over nature, the elves invented Elbereth. To explain Midoran’s mastery of war, they created Aros. In defiance of Midoran’s righteous fury over their heresy, they created Tarik.

Know this, that these creations of the elves, these “gods” are shades of Midoran’s memory. And when the elves worship these, they in fact worship Midoran, and this is the worst heresy.

The Heresy of Vilyave, Naruth, and Helkris

Midoran is Lord and Master of all, and in ancient times, He presented himself to the people of the Kobai. They rejected him, being a hateful people. Midoran’s rage rained upon the people of the Kobai, and the land was left barren. Yet the people defied Midoran still, and erected the idols of Vilyave, Naruth, and Helkris to be their gods. This angered Midoran, and he forced the people from the blasted lands. Follows of Vilyave were sent to the heights above. Followers of Naruth were exiled to the fire depths. The followers of Helkris were banished to the icy wastes.

Such is the punishment of Midoran, which remains today. These people, separated from the truth of the Just Hand, wither and die as they worship impotent idols. This is the punishment for their father’s transgression against Midoran, and it is just and right.

The Heresy of Gukathul

Midoran is lord of all. It is He who decides when life is borne, and He who chooses when life ends. Yet some deny this claim, and desire to find answers in heretical practices, such as necromancy. Such a person was Gukathul, who in ages past was a powerful mage. Gukathul founded a cult in opposition to the Great Midoran, a vile cabal that worshiped death. So horrendous was his heresy that Gukathul called himself a God, equal to Midoran…

…For this heresy, Midoran smote Gukathul, and cursed those who followed his despicable teachings. To this day, those who follow the Dark Arts await eternal torment by Midoran, who will cast them into a lake of fire, a pit of eternal pain. There, they shall be tortured. There, they shall die, only to be resurrected by Midoran in order to suffer again. This shall be their punishment, for eternity. And it is just.

Midoran is the Lord of All. Blessed be his name.

The Heresy of Menarok

There is no god called Menarok. Dark forces exist in opposition to Midoran, it is for this reason Midoran protects his people. For though Midoran is ruler of all, there will always be those who seek to subvert his holy Will. Those who claim to follow the God Menarok, and truly, those who seek to defy Midoran, are the worst of heretics. So gruesome will their punishment be that the combined suffering of all people in history will seem mild compared to one moment of these heretic’s torment.

There is no Menarok, there are only those who seek to defy Midoran. Defying Midoran is a fruitless gesture, and will lead only to ruin. So He has spoken, and so it is.

The Heresy of Theus

All magic comes from Midoran. Of this, there is no question. Those who partake of arcane arts outside of Midoran’s auspecies are heretics. They worship Theus, who is nothing. Midoran holds absolute dominion in the realm of magic, and Theus is Midoran…

…The question remains, why can some mages use magic outside of Midoran’s will? Midoran does not restrict the use of magic, for that is his will, and is unquestionable. All who access arcane magic do so by Midoran’s grace, and those who profess belief in Midoran, and vow to uphold his Church, shall receive special blessings, and be raised above all others.

The Heresy of Vastalorium

To comment on a faith that focuses on crafts is laughable. Midoran guides the artisan’s hand and painter’s brush. There is no other force beside Midoran, praise be his name for all ages.

The Heresy of Swiftfoot
Posted: 13 Jan 2007 09:52 AM
From The Heresies of Faith by White Bishop Vidus Khain

Of all the would-be "gods," none deserve more scorn or ridicule then the demon Swiftfoot. There is no doubt that Swiftfoot is a true being. He appears to his followers, on occassion, and actively incites all manner of debaucherous behavior in the Hin. The Hin, as a people, are weakened by their loyalty to this demon....

....But this is the truth! Swiftfoot is a demon, and like any demon, he can be killed. It is a holy duty, and a great honor, for all Men of faith to seek out this demon and slay him, thus liberating the Hin from a dark influence....

...Swiftfoot must die, for of all the false preceptions and beings that infect the face of Vives, none is so indidious. This demon has enslaved an entire people. Midoran's justice must be upheld. May his eyes turn to Brandibuck, and his Grace shine upon the Hin, who rest in sin and darkness.
