Then you felt ill...
Then you fell to all fours...
and then it happened...

well .... I scuttled around as the only PC (purple critter) online at gmt 00.00. which was great fun ....for about 3 minutes. despite trying to talk to kuisin, who i was pretending was a badger, for a further 30 seconds, my interest soon waned Sadly the emote *sniff ones own testicles* is not present which left me with know option but to log off ...
i wonder if anyone else has had any similar riproaring adventures whilst badgered ? |

Well, I decided to go see if this purple badger was like a 'real' purple badger and could eat magic, so I took him to a place full of little round balls that fire magic missiles, and found my answer. Then I took him to a library to do some reading, and then I, too, had my fill of being a badger and logged off. |

After further investigation...i take it back being a level 3 badger is just the best hack and slay experience i have had on vives an RP moment presented itself but i skillfuly dodged it by snorting a bit and nonchulantly chewing on a slug. bring it on look forward to levelling and becoming a level 4 mauve blind mole rat Chariz 1 Dex 2 Buckyteeth 18 etc.. |

..And I thought that was kinda cheesy way out of it.
- but not being able to use the pink diamond tool to find other players is annoying ... makes you just kinda waddle around hoping you find someone, but you can find them using other methods |

I'm just disillusioned. I ran around for a week as one, without being able to talk to anyone. You know, saying squee squee isn't the best way to express one's self. Only those who spoke animal could understand me and I didn't meet a single one.
However, now it was clearly stated that you could all communicate with each other apart from... Xaranthir again. Yeah, you don't get the spells and cool powers you had when you were humanoid, but come on...
There were 8 people in game, two of whom were still in badger form (power to you Calmeir and Trishy). Ah well... |

Regarding Phoenix's complaints about not enough folks keeping their badger form and Nathan's struggling with the badger form:
1) I do not see why anyone who can already shapeshift would be stuck as a badger. 2) I also do not see how anyone who can speak with animals should be able to speak with the polymorphed purple badgers. If I was polymorphed into an elf would I suddenly speak elvish? |

That's quite simple really. We're talking about Purple badgers. They're not normal animals. They're magical creations and the laws of nature, physics and whatever else, simply do not apply to them. |

((I suppose you could also throw on top of all that, that Vives is it's own world with it's own rules and laws and physics and magic and all that other nifty stuff. Therefore the rules of DnD are not necessarily those that are of Vives (many may be the same or similar though) So anyhow, just have fun with things, and if you don't like it then there is always the cancel polymorph at anytime option.. *shrug*)) |

Re: Purpled Posted: 01 Apr 2006 02:54 PM |
As strangely as it had begun... it ended
Who knows why it really happened, or how it ended.
Some say that it was Midoran's influence that broke the spell, while some attribute it to the gods working in tandem. Some claimed that a wizard fixed the problem (and many did claim that they were the ones personally responsible for it) And oh, don't forge the inevitable gnomes who came forth with machines that went *bing* and made copious amounts of smoke and steam whilst throwing bolts everywhere.
The fact remains that no one can agree on what caused the problem, or what caused it to end.
Perhaps there are some mysteries that should remain just that, a mystery. |
