semi-forced Vives break Posted: 22 Feb 2006 03:00 PM |
Hey all, looks like I'm gonna be taking a break for an undefined amount of time.
in the process of remodeling our master bathroom, we moved/changed the wiring for the lights/fan/what-have-you and made a rare, random power flicker problem worse... apparently.
or it could just be coincidence.
dunno if we have a wiring issue, a problem with our breaker box, or just getting bad power from the power company... but for now I'm not willing to turn on my good computer when we get pretty constant fluctuations in our power (and my old computer I'm just going to use on occasion to check email and perhaps browse the forums now and then)
so, like I say, I'll be taking a break from playing (since NWN is of course installed on the good computer) untill this is resolved.
Hope to see you all soon.

Alrighty.. good news and bad news
the good news: we found the problem... the Main breaker for the electricity coming into the house is shot. (scorch marks on the side of it... if you wiggle it you can hear arcing... pretty obvious) AND it's relatively simple to replace.
the bad news: we gotta get a freekin permit from the county in order to get the power company to shut off the power... yada yada yada... get someon to inspect it... blah blah blah... bunch of stupid red tape and fees to be paid just so I can work on my own house.
sure am glad the government is looking out for me. *utterly sarcastic*
I think the permit cost is almost half of what the parts will cost. >:O
so anyway... no idea how long it will take to do this. If I could just do the work without needing the permit and inspection and all that crap.. I'd have it done by tomorrow
*wanders off in search of a 125 amp breaker* |

Hey all,
Instead of making a new topic I'll post it here. In my region there is a party going called Carnaval. It lasts several days. So Artinam will be partying for a while and not playing on the server.
See ya all in a few days

well... I'd much prefer a break where I was off partying, rather than fixing my broke house.
Picking up a new breaker today, and with any luck, will be replacing it tomorrow. then I hope to be back in action soon. |
