The Encyclical's of Vidus Khain, White Bishop of Midor

Excerpts from the recently published Encyclical to all Bishops of Midor by White Bishop Vidus Khain ((think of it as a State of the Theocracy letter))
I greet you with the joy that can only be found in the Presence of the most holy Midoran. We are on the verge of a golden age for Midor. Through the guidance of the Just Hand, the Justification of Midor is progressing faster then I expected. The process of creating a pure and righteous Midor is nearly complete.
Midoran speaks to me, and as the White Bishop, I am the Voice of Midoran. Sole authority in all of Midor rests in me, for I am the Chosen of Midoran. Ten years ago, Midoran himself gave me a charge. To create a Midor that better fit His image. This I have done. He blessed me with the title of White Bishop so that I could implement His will. As Preceptor to the Righteous Swords, I brought strength, discipline, and loyalty back to the true knights of Midoran. Through the Justification of Midor our enemies have been brought to their knees.

It was I who cleared the way for Midoran’s return. It was I who made plain the path, so that the rebellion would be crushed in one decisive moment. And because of my loyalty and actions, Midoran has granted his people peace and prosperity.
All praise to Midoran, Holy is his name.

Midoran is for the faithful, but His justice is for all. As the Chosen of Midoran, it is my duty to assert my supreme moral authority over the whole of Vives. Justice flows from Midor through his servant, and this justice is for all of Vives. From the Cold Lands to the depths of Bregodim, all are invited to come to Midor to partake of the justice dispensed from the Chosen of Midoran’s throne. All mankind is called upon to rally to the banner of Chosen of Midoran.

Bishops of Midor, this is your charge. Accept all requests for arbitration of justice from the White Bishop’s throne. All who come to Midor seeking Justice shall receive it. None shall be turned away. It has been said to me from the mouth of Midoran himself, “Those who you free shall be freed. Those who you bind shall be bound. Life shall be yours to give and take, by my Word and Will, it will be done.”

I declare the Justification of Midor complete. Now begins the Justification of Vives. All who come to Midor for justice shall be given it. Righteous Swords, the harbingers of Midoran Justice, shall be sent as Knight-Errant’s into the wide world with full authority to dispense justice when necessary, through my blessing and authority.
Be calm, people of Vives. The Righteous Swords come only to help. The armies of Midor shall remain in Midor, and our will shall not be militarily forced upon anyone.

From the Second Encyclical of Vidus Khain
To the people of Vives,
Midoran’s blessing be upon you. May His hand, through the ministrations of His faithful, bring righteousness and justice to your cities, your homes, and your lives. Praise be to Midoran.
I have recently aquired a transcript of a sermon given in the Halls of Bregodim. The speaker was a priest of Bregodim, Coruva Lorehammer. It is tempting to condemn this poor soul for believing in and speaking on behalf of a false god. There is nothing specificlly evil about the faith Lorehammer preaches, except for the inherent wrongness of putting an idol before Midoran. The misguided in faith are meant to be pitied, not scorned. This letter is not meant to discuss saving the souls of the lost. Rather, it is incumbent upon myself, as Midoran’s representative in Vives and the White Bishop of Midoran, who is the sole moral authority in Vives, to warn against the teachings of the Cuneal.
The Cuneal is a part of dwarven religious teachings. It’s promulgation is, in some respect, the fault of Midor. We failed to bring the truth of Midoran to the Halls of Bregodim, and thus allowed false believes to permeate their society.

Dwarves believe that family and kinship are a unifying factor. While family and kinship is important, Lorehammer assigns these qualities divine properties. He places family and kinship at the pinnacle of achievement.

Divinity can never be achieved merely through observing strict rules of family and kinship. Midoran teaches that self-sacrifice, faithfulness to the One True God, and submission to the Just Hand are the only true paths to salvation. The Cuneal teaches divinity through unity, which said another way places god within the moral dwarf. This believe, that divinity can be achieved through mortal effort and creation, is an abomination of faith.

I call upon the priests of the dwarven halls, and Coruva Lorehammer in specific, to come to the True Light of Midoran. I will help show you the path, so that you may return to your people a beacon from which they may set their course. Do not be afraid, retribution and Justification do not await you in the Holy City of Midor. I welcome all who wsh to visit and learn. Together, we can spread True Light to even the dark corners of the dwarven halls.

Excerpts from the Third Encyclical of Vidus Khain, the White Bishop of Midor
Blessing be to you in the name of Midoran, the Most Holy, who holds dominion over all things on the earth, above the earth, and below the earth. Praise be His name.
Everlasting is the work of the faithful, to spread the peace and justice of the One True God to the corners of Vives. With the corruption and loss of the Order of Midoran, it is incumbent upon the faithful of the New Order to continue, and succeed, where the institutions of the past have failed.
The people of Midor have grown strong. No longer are outsiders and foreigners allowed free reign to terrorize the faithful. The Church, and her people, have found their strength through the Just Hand’s blessing. The Righteous Swords protect this chosen people from threats from without, and the Inquisitors protect against threats from within.

A new age has come to pass in Vives, an age where the guidance of Midoran is no longer just for his chosen. All Men in the land, from Icy Vale to Port Royale have a right to share in the inheritance of Midoran. I extend my hand in peace and friendship to the Men of Vives. All who wish to learn of Midoran’s ways, the ways of Men and the True Light, the light of transformation and justice, are welcome. Together, we can build a faith that stretches from sea to sea, from the mountains to the desert; the forests to the prairie.
We are one, all Men. And now, all Men are invited to join at the table set forth by Midoran.

As Midoran’s Voice, I claim all Men as belong to Midoran, and all are welcome to feast at the table of justice. We are a holy empire, a people set apart, who have been fractured for too long. Join us. Join the body of Midoran, and find your true strength. Join us, for it is your birthright as Men.

Welcome the messengers of the Just Hand when you meet them. For those who are given hospitality will ask Midoran to bless their hosts so that all good things will flow to the house that gives hospitality to the faithful. Do not be distracted by false messengers, those who claim to know Midoran, and those who claim the Righteous One is false. The Kingdom of Man can be strong through the faith, but ever do deceivers lie in wait, waiting to prey on the weak.
Remember, now is the time for Men. Now is the time to unite, and not to fail. This is our destiny, the destiny of Man, and of the faithful in Midoran.

From the Fourth Encyclical of Vidus Khain, White Bishop of Midor

Praise be to Midoran, from whom all graces flow.
See the world now, the darkness that looms, and know that those who deny the Great God Midoran have suffered. The Hin of Brandibuck lay in ruins; punishment for their heresy. The city of Port Royale lies in ruins, the cost of their decadence.

In the grip of bleary-eyed hedionism, no one sought comfort in Midoran. Brandibuck is a willful child, unwilling to accept the council of a loving parent. For this, they have been struck down in order so that they may learn temperance.
In the darkness, no one cried to Midoran for salvation. Port Royale is a harlot, sharing her bed with all without concern for cost. For this, they have been struck down, so they may learn humility.

Midoran has surrendered these people to the enemy, the dark foes of all. The elves have struck, calling themselve "Atalan" to disguise their true natures. But know this, that the elves of Ferein control the elves everywhere. From Paws, to Brandibuck, and Port Royale, they sow destruction and misery. Midoran has abandoned the faithless to the elves.

Repent, the time is now! Turn to Midoran for your salvation, and He shall deliver you from the enemy. Deny your false gods and destory your idols! Profess the truth and power of Midoran as Lord of all, and you shall be saved.
The time is now. Repent, and feel the Righteousness of Midoran. Profess your alligence to Midoran, and to his Holy Church, and be saved. Just as the fire, burning wild, consumes the crop before the harvest, so will the enemies of Midoran be destoryed as punishment for their wicked ways.

Midoran has spoken, and so the call is made. Make your pilgrimage to the Holy City of Midor and pay homage to Him at His Temple. Don sackcloth and spread ashes on your face as a sign of repentance. Come and honor him, and he will save you. The call has been made. Come and be saved, before the enemy comes to your doorstep....
