Midor: Perception by the citizens themselves Posted: 03 Jan 2006 12:39 AM |
Regarding what people perceive to be an exhodus from Midor
- anyone who bothers to check will the "refugees" to be non non humans and non believers. The numbers actually leaving might be in the hundreds
Regarding the "fear" as perceived by the populace
- anyone who looks will see the vast majority of Midorans are very happy. For the first time in at least two years, the city has been free of major crime (especially the rash of murders caused by elves), free from external threats and the object of their devotion has taken firm residence in the city.
- the fear can most clearly be seen on the faces of those who are non followers of Midoran when they visit the city, or those of non human races. Elves are almost unheard of now in the city. Those who walk openly will gather angry mobs who will pelt them with rubbish. Those who try to remain stealthy will often attract the attention of the mystics who have the ability to peer into shadows and frequently do so at major choke points within the city
The Righteous Swords and their work in the city
- are efficient, and have no leeway when it comes to the enforcement of laws
- are polite to adherents of Midoran,
- are watching everything that goes on
For those who can see invisible
- the RS Knight Patrols are always shadowed by an invisible mystic or two.
For those who have "an ear to the ground", so to speak
- people have disappeared and in almost all cases the people were non believers
- the enforcement of laws within Midor is getting more strict.
- the people are happy with this state of affairs, those that will speak openly about such things, of course. You never know when a mystic will suddenly show up with a troop of RS at her back and take people away for questioning. |

For those who frequent the Temple and chapels in Midor:
- Ever since the massacre of Paws, it's become evident that there are very few priests actually remaining in Midor
- No one knows when they actually started disappearing or where they have gone off to... if they still live
Regarding the Righteous Swords:
- No one knows where they came from
- They simply appeared on the day that Vidus Khain unveiled their existence
- Even those Paladins who have been converted to Righteous Sword Knights know nothing about them |

Regarding the Supremists:
- The unveiling of the Supremists, unlike the original Righteous Swords, was actually met with unease
- However, their recent efforts in restoring Paws and the Farmlands has abated any nagging doubts that the Midoran populace may have had about whether they are indeed looking out for the best interests of the people of Midor
Those who dwellt in the Midor Farmlands or Paws:
- See The Red March and a Time for War
- There is outrage at Ferein and all Elves in general
- None question the truth of the White Bishop's words, for he is the Voice of Midoran and Midoran's will is absolute
- All Midorans in Midor, its outskirts and farmlands and in Paws are more fervently zealous than ever
- Anyone deemed a sympathiser of the Elves or the Aristi is instantly branded a traitor
- Foreigners are looked upon with vicious hostility
- Anyone who has not been a loyal and obedient Midoran and has actually dared to travel away from the holy land in the past year is viewed with suspicion and quite likely to be dragged in for a one-way interrogation with the Inquisitors ((That means YOU, all PCs: venturing into Paws or the Farmlands or Midor is, to put it bluntly, a VERY STUPID thing to do, even if you're originally from there)) |
