Strange Death in Buckshire Posted: 02 Jan 2006 04:57 AM |
Rumours are flying around the small settlement to the effect that an elven druid appeared at the inn asking for aid and died before any could be given.
The cause of her death is unknown though Doc has spoken of her appearing feverish, coughing fitfully and almost unable to speak.
More disturbing still is an uncomfirmed story that when returned to Ferein another druid was unable to restore the druid to life, that many if not all the druids in the Grove appear to be weak or unwell and unable to cure themselves.
Others also appear to have been affected briefly by feverish spells, by feelings of weakness and temporary coughing fits. What is not clear is why it affects some and not others though some speak of it being connected somehow with recent rumours of visions discussion at the highest level within the elven realm.
((IMPORTANT OOC NOTE: From now until further notice ANY character claiming Elbereth as a deity and capable of using healing magic of any kind is unable to use it. This includes any spells which cure wounds, heal, raise dead/resurrection, restoration, remove disease, neutralise poison etc. This applies to any class capable of using those spells - not just druids and is not confined only to those of elven blood. Other magic is unaffected. On a side note, any who were present at the events which took place yesterday should feel free if they wish to post IC impressions of what took place)) |

Horror mounts upon horror, rumour upon rumour. The Ferein druid order is now confirmed to be severely weakened. In addition to los of healing powers tales now speak of an inability to use any magic.... at all.
Furthermore, strange effects have been seen throughout the land, people collapsing randomly, affected by visons in some cases, feelings of despair in others. People speak of differing occurrences, different sights seen, different effects felt. One thing is clear, however, it is affecting not only elves, nor is it affecting only followers of the mother.
Talk is sweeping he world of an expedition to be mounted into the ruined Inner City of Ferein, which is thought to hold clues as to the source of these problems, those passing through the elven realm will note signs of preparations being made.
((IMPORTANT OOC NOTE - As of v2-97-1 your journal will carry an amended entry, please ensure that you read this since there are important consequences which affect some characters)) |

| ((By the way, there are no entries in my journal. It might be a good idea to give the OOC instructions here, too, in case I'm not the only one with this problem.)) |

((Appears to be working for some and not others, but for the uninitiated, journal contents are shown below))
Horror mounts upon horror, in addition to the weakening of the Ferein druid order visions are sweeping through the world, affecting elves, both Elberethian and otherwise, but also affecting others, no matter their race or religion. An increasing sense of despair is being felt among those most closely tied to nature. Rumours even speak of the death of a Ferein druid, while others are confirmed now to be severely weakened. Talk increases of an expedition into the ruined Inner City in an attempt to identify the cause.
UPDATE! IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!
As of now until further notice the following effects are in place.
1. Druids, Clerics and Rangers with Elbereth selected as a deity are no longer able to cast spells of ANY description, this includes healing/resurrection spells, buffs and enhancements, and also offensive spells. If your player is one of these classes and Elberethian you may NOT use magic of any description.
2. Furthermore, rangers and druids claiming Elbereth as a deity may no longer use wildshape/elemental shape/dragon form if they have those abilities - this applies also to shifters - nor may any of these classes use animal empathy.
These effects will remain in place until further notice.
Please RP your characters accordingly. |
