Deleting characters Posted: 15 Sep 2005 08:18 AM |
Hello again, is it possible to delete some, or all of the characters I have made, I have been away from Vives for a few days now, trying out other servers, I have learned a few things which i think will enhance my characters. So now I need to know if it is possible to delete my current characters, as I have 3 new ones I want to create with more history. |

| Deleting characters is not done here in Vives, however there is no limit to the characters you can make in your account, so there is no problem with you creating three new characters. |

Please remember though that you are not allowed to transfer items between characters. And because of the unique way xp is earned in Vives, DMs will not allow you to remake characters and be given the xp back of the other character,. because the new character would be able to gain all of the explore and combat xp again that your first character benefitted from.
You are (as WA says) allowed to remake the character yourself and play it up from level one again using the same character background if you wish.
Characters cannot be deleted from the server because of all the stats that the server collects for things like the dirt-nap league. To successfully delete a character would mean deleting entries from these tables too and it is too time consuming for the admins to do this along with all of the other work they do.

hmmm...
if they are "new" characters, then that is obviously no problem.
if they are "old" characters...well..uh...
- they would start at 0 xp.
- I suppose you could continue the history and previous knowledge, (but no to item transfers).
I am not sure how the other DM's feel about that, and I would need to find their opinion.
It has been done before, but we considered it an exception rather than a rule.
In the end, why not just make a new character?
