Tia - Prayers and Doubts Posted: 29 Aug 2005 11:48 PM |
Tia sits quietly listening to the whispering of the wind, her eyes follow the graceful flight of a hawk as it sails above her. Her usually bright smile hints of sadness. Her voice is as quiet and gentle as the soft breeze that plays with her hair and warms her cheeks.
My Lady of the Wind,
I heard your voice, saw your vision and for the moment I was happy for you. But now I walk in sorrow. Guilt and unhappiness assail me, despite what protection you tried to give. How could you be a part of if it, of the near destruction of our world? How could you not know what would happen, what devastation would be wrought? And I stood and watched. Indeed I was awed by the power. I am ashamed now – not only of your part in it, but of my willingness to follow. And still the consequences are felt and I am helpless to do anything.
Another speaks to me of One so very different from you and your sisters. This One has shown me great mercy in restoring my soul to my lifeless body. And I listen to the Paladin’s words and see his kindness. When he is near, I know what he speaks of is right and good, and I feel in my heart I am wrong in my devotion to you.
But when I walk the lands alone and feel the wind gently caressing me and see the beauty of the birds as they soar above me, I feel drawn once more to you. And then something happens, a miscast spell, a tremor and doubts assail me again.
I feel as if I am falling and I have lost my wings. Will there be someone to catch me?
A familiar twang is carried on the wind. Tia turns and looks up in time to see the arrow hit it’s mark, and the hawk fall with a sick thud to the earth below. Sadly, she turns and moves quickly down the path trying to push the bird and her doubts from her mind. |

Re: Tia - An Answer on the Wind and Renewed Hope Posted: 30 Aug 2005 11:24 AM |
The wind sighs causing Tia to suddenly stop and turn. She lifts her head as it swirls around her reassuringly and a soft melodic voice full of sadness speaks in her mind.
My child ....... I did not know what would come to pass that day. We all realized simultaneously the damage that was being done. I protected those on the ground from the onslaught of the magics of my terrible sisters ... yet it was not enough and at the same time it was too much. Vives will heal in time ...... help it to heal with my aid child .......
As the voice drifts off into an inaudible whisper, Tia smiles warmly still feeling the Lady close by. Her head turns at a sound. The hawk is swept up in a gust of wind, the arrow falls away to the ground and it's wounds heal as it swirls in the air ...... it awakens and takes flight soaring to the skies crying out in thanks.
Throwing her arms out, her head tilted to the sky, she laughs happily. “I will do as you ask, My Lady. Thank you.”
With a renewed spring in her step and her smile bright once more, Tia sets off to find Aidan, eager to tell him and talk this over with him. Surely he will be as happy for her as she feels. A small doubt creeps into her mind, but she pushes it aside. He is a good man.
As she walks her mind turns to what could be done for the land. She suddenly remembers Vikrall’s words and a tiny frown creases her brow. Would Syn take advantage of this? Shrugging and smiling again, she would worry over that one later. Laughing, she almost skips as she makes her way to the boat. |

Re: Tia - Prayers and Doubts Posted: 31 Aug 2005 12:26 PM |
Tia sat on the hill outside the Four Winds, her mind playing over what Connavar had said to her. The gods would not interfere with Syn, it would be up to the mortals to deal with this. She wanted to aid in the fight but felt helpless and unsure. Many times she took a shortcut through Bloodwood from Brandibuck to the beautiful clearing where she gathered aloe for her healing kits. The dark wind that blew through the woods frightened her, but she was only on the edge of the Bloodwood, safe from what menaced the woods. She had let him know she would be willing to do what she could.
A small doubt crept into her mind as she thought of Malakhi and his words to her, but she quickly brushed them aide. He was wrong. Nor did she fear his goddess. Tia did not serve her Lady because she believed Vilyave was the most beautiful or the strongest of the sisters. She served her because the goddess cared and loved. There was more to power than strength.
A warm breezed filled the night air with the scent of pine and wildflowers. She smiled and raised her head to the wind, closing her eyes. Her words simple and sincere.
My Lady of the Wind,
I ask for your blessings so I may become strong to face what threatens our world and to aid in the healing of the land. Guide my hand and know that I will do all I can.
Slowly she stood knowing her Lady was with her. A name came to her mind bringing a warm, soft smile to her face. She bite her lip worriedly. Mika was right, but how would she know? She sighed and pushed the confusing thoughts aside as she made her way to the horses. It was time to begin her search., |
