Rumours and speculation are sweeping the length and breadth of Vives. It seems that a sizeable number of Midoran troops are slowly beginning to gather outside of the city. The tales of what they intend differ vastly, varying from a full scale invasion of Ferein, to a force being sent to quell the problems they have faced in Icy Vale, to a simple military exercise and training excursion, to a holy crusade to fight evil wherever it may be found. The Midorans themselves have issued no public statement, and the troops refuse to discuss their orders.

The only thing that does seem certain is that troops are on the move...

((any gatherings of Midorans seen IG outside of Midor are representative of far greater numbers than are readily visible. For obvious game mechanic / lag reasons. So anyone wanting to in any way interact with these troops must only do so with a DM present and aware of what you plan.))

She looked up from her papers sharply at the soft rap on the door. Her brow wrinkled slightly in surprise at the visitor. Since the auction visitors to Eden had dropped to their usual number. In other words few and far between. As she opened the door and looked up at the figure her brow lifted slightly in surprise.

"Rufil? There is a problem?" She asked.

"Perhaps My Lady," he said quietly, passing her a sealed scroll.

She stared at him for a few moments before taking it and sitting once more at the desk to read it, the curiosity on her face developing into a frown as she read further. She finished and let her hands fall to her sides, staring at the scroll which rolled itself up as she released it.

"This informatin is accurate?" She said softly.

"Yes My Lady, huge numbers outside Midor and on the Plains," he answered.

"Very well..." she said, falling silent for a moment or two. "send for Aeladhrial, have her return to Ferein as soon as possible. Then withdraw some of our people from the patrols in the Slyvian. I want archers in Mystic Wood and Latonei... permanently. They are to remain there and watch for any sign of movement towards Gladden."

As he nodded and turned to leave she turned towards him, her expression a little paler than normal but the determination, as ever, quite clear, "And Rufil...." He stopped in midstride and turned to look towards her curiously as she continued, "make sure they all know that if anybody is attacked for any reason other than to defend themselves, they will answer to me. If it is a war that Midor wants, we wil not be the ones to start it"

He looked briefly at the green eyes which stared intently at him before nodding once more and hurrying out through the door.

((As has already been said, anybody wishing to interact in any way with the elven troops who will shortly be appearing should only do so with a DM present))

The early morning light crept across the Great Plains. Where the light touched, darkness fled revealing a sea of armour and weapons shining red revealing the Army of Midor. Assembled and drawn up in ranks, they waited silently, all eyes fixed straight ahead.

From the largest tent, a hooded figure in red robes walks from the tent. As he steps into the light, he removes his outer robes, revealing spotless white clothes with gold inlay, the just risen sun making them sparkle brilliantly in the new light.

All are silent as the White Clothed figure slowly and purposefully walks to the head of the formation with an honour guard of Mystics appearing from nowhere, flanking him, matching him step by step. The figure marches along the front ranks of the assembled army, many thousands strong. Slowly he walks back to the front, turns and surveys the vast assemblage before him.

The White Bishop Vidus Khain raised his arms towards the faithful and began to speak.

"I see before me the labours of years of hard work, long years of listening to people of lesser faith saying it could never be done. Long years of people believing this day could never come to pass. And yet, here we are. Midoran's finest, tempered in the fires of devotion, honed to the keenest of edges by the most noble of purposes."

"Already your worth has been proven. Guided by The Just Hand, you have restored rule and order to Midor. The people are free to worship our Lord without fear that our enemies will see to end their lives for their beliefs. Free to live their lives without fear of losing all they have worked for from the criminal few who preyed on them."

"In this task, Midoran's blessings are upon you for the duties you have performed..."

"But it is not enough! Our enemies still skulk in the shadows, like a viper preparing to spring, waiting for a moments inattentiveness to release its deadly bite. We cannot allow this to come to pass. Our Lord demands we finish the job we have started, so Midor will be secure for the next thousand years and his people's ascention is complete"

"This has been our true goal. This is the day we have been training for for so long. Our enemies are weakened by their own misfortunes and their own lack of faith. We will dispense justice and bring to heel those who sought to bring us down. Their destruction will set us free!"

"This day will be remembered as the start of our new beginning, a time when we broke the backs of those who flout our laws. This is the day when those who question our beliefs see them in their glorious truth. This day is the day that will be remembered when the Faith of Midoran ascended into its rightful supremacy and that you were the ones who were seen fit to make it come to pass."

"The time is right, our enemies will know the true glory that is Midoran's wrath!"

As if possessing only one voice, the troops respond to the voice of the Chosen of Midoran in the only way they can.

"Midoran's will be done!"

"Midoran's will be done!"

"Midoran's will be done!"

The troops file past their spiritual leader and receive his blessings as they begin their long journey to the northwest.

The cloaked figure ran nimbly up the steps and hurried past the pool through the garden, pausing only to throw a quick courtesy to the enormous statue of Aros.

Throwing back her hood the tiny dark-haired elf collected herself before knocking loudly on the door.

Aeladhrial stepped back slightly with a bright smile as it opened and the familiar blonde figure stepped out onto the platform.

"My Lady," she bowed respectfully, "I bring word, they are moving."

The deep green eyes stared back at her for a few moments before she nodded slightly, "Where to?"

"They are headed in this direction my Lady, they march as we speak." Answered Aeladhrial.

She studied the small figure in front of her for a reaction, eyes travelling swiftly over her swollen form to fix once more upon the eyes that regarded her calmly, surprisingly unmoved.

"Very well, you know what to do. Send word to the Princess and have her fully informed. Then speak with Master Camthalion and Lady Nariel and ask that all that can be spared of their people join ours in the Mystic and Latonei. It is to be carried out as planned."

"Of course my Lady, at once," said Aeladhrial.

She turned to hurry away, but was stopped as Elvalia called her back, "The order still stands Aeladhrial... no one will attack unless it is to defend themselves or the Midorans enter Mystic Wood, make sure everybody is quite clear on that. We will not be blamed for this."

Aeladhrial nodded and hurried off.

As she disappeared into the mist Elvalia reached into her pocket and clasped the message she had received but a few days ago and turned to look up at the statue.

"Watch over them all My Lord," she said softly and turned to look out across the Inner Sea.

His large brimmed hat shaded the gleam in his eyes.

"Ahhhh perhaps this will be easier than I thought. With luck, they won't attack until I... encourage them to. With luck, they will kill each other off, and save everyone the headache. If not..."

Hans Wilhelm chuckled aloud to himself as he sat in his room going through his chest.

Romulus had awoken that morning from the keep, while the sun usually rises opposite of his window a large beam of bright light had blasted itself through the small archers hole in his room. By the gods? Have I slept this late into the day? Rubbing his eyes, he tried peaking out through the small hole almost blinded by the sheer focus of the light. It was not the sun, but the reflection of hundreds..no thousands of Midorans soldiers lined up in the very planes...the beams of lighting lambasting their way as the sun hit them from behind Gorlath keep. Romulus shielded his eyes at first, not able to measure the amount of troops. At first he put on his robes and planned to head downstairs and give what he though might be just another small scouting party of Midorans trying to cause trouble outside Gorlath keep. As he creeped open the door of Gorlath Keep, he saw an endless ocean of Midoran soldiers. This was no expeditionary force, among the ranks were the honor guard , and very high ranking generals and others of the Midoran army.

This was an aggressive action, an attack, an invasion...no, were the Midorans after war? While Romulus had tried to stay away from Midor as much as possible, he had enough information to distinguish the higher officers from the normal soldiers by coloration of armor, and their formation in the lines. He panned around for a bit at first in awe, but he almost immediatley squinted his eyes and put on a face of distaste as Vidus Khain, so close to being killed...yet swarmed in a sea of Red and White, untouchable, invincible to Romulus at this moment....it boiled Romulus full of anger. As he blessed his soldiers, more seemed to pour from Midors fields. Had Midoran been this prosperous? Its troops were never-ending, and its faith unwavering. Every seeming thing that came from that fools mouth seemed to be met with great cheers. They were being marched off to war, and yet they saw it as some kind of great event!

So is the way of humans...

Romulus quickly snapped himself back to reality, the largest army to grace the Great Plains in perhaps hundreds of years was just outside Gorlath keep. And Romulus was far what could be considered, ally, or friend of either the Midorans or Vidus. Romulus immediatley grabbed his things, and made deep deep into Gorlath Keep. A million eyes could never find his hiding spot within the keep. He would wait, wait for the thundering of the marching footsteps that rumbled the old keep and the very dank location he seemed to be to stop. There was no other choice.

((
a quick update

the midoran loyalists forces were met by a small group on the great plains. after talking, the groups fought.

they parleyed again. during the parley, a scout came running back to let the leaders of the loyalists know that a second army had appeared in the north and that they were trapped

just then, a light shone down from the heavens, and a being appeared proclaiming to be Midoran. in the ensuing battle, the loyalists were broken and scattered

the being who called himself midoran, marched off to Midor at hte head of the army

now, anyone who looks at Midor will see a great light shining down from the heavens on the temple where Midoran himself has taken residence. throngs of people are crowding the temple trying to get a chance to see their god making hte temple inaccesible

I'll update the mod later to reflect hte changes
