Dark night for a priestess of light.

"The church are a bunch of meanies, rotten ole turnip breathed meanies!" The children taunted as they hurled rocks down on Valoria from a rooftop above.

The children were a group of half dozen ranging from the ages of seven to ten by their looks. Every single one of the boys were smeared with dirt and grime on all visable flesh. They all, except one, appeared to have missed several meals. The loudest of the voices came from one of the older boys who was nearly as wide as he was tall.

The young priestess continued walking, ashamed to look up , her red, puffy eyes brimming with tears. Each taunt , each stone landed upon her with a force she found hard to bear.

'How can the people be so misguided?' She thought to herself as she struggled onward towards the church, burdened by a heavy heart. And while it was true usually only the young or those awaiting trial for a crime were open with negative feelings towards the church, she felt a general distrust growing among the citizens of Midor. Discreet looks made by others when they thought she was unable to see, distant whispers when she and some of the other sisters passed by.

Valoria was young and idealistic still. The majority of her eighteen years of life had been extremely sheltered. Leaving her quite naive to the dangerous, cut-throat ways of the real world outside of her sheltered existance. She had decided on her fifteenth birthday to join the church, training to be a priestess of Midoran.

She had made this choice out of a sincere desire to help others. She had been blessed with so much throughout her young life she wanted to give something back. Thus the mistrust of some and even obvious despisal by others stung her particularly deep.

She wanted to do something to remove the mistrust instilled into many by Vidus Khain and those red clad righteous swords. She wanted to show the people that the church was there to help them. She wanted them not to hate the church, she wanted them to not hate her...

As she entered her small room she closed the door behind her, tears now streaming down her cheeks. Leaning her back against the door she slid to the floor, her head in her lap as she wept. She wept until until sleep claimed her where she sat.

Several hours later she rose from the cold floor nodding in understanding. She dressed in her most comfortable robe, and began preparing herself for a journey...

It had all come so plainly in a dream as she slept, almost as if someone had spoken it to her. She simply had to do a deed so great that the people couldn't help but rejoice. She would remove a great evil from the lands, purifying that evil with Midorans just power.

She would travel to Maldovia and rid the land of Vives of the Syn-cursed once and for all....
