This thread is to keep track of the various happenins of Miramil Maizwel Tuppernon Drudocsi Zarvaddin Filwallen Bodwiggel Aronomoli Peredoc Roszelina Svarignon Ashwyckle
*takes a deep breath*
First off, her background:
Real Name
Miramil Maizwel Tuppernon Drudocsi Zarvaddin Filwallen Bodwiggel Aronomoli Peredoc Roszelina Svarignon Ashwyckle
Name Meanings
Zarvaddin: agent of chaos. See Gears
Drudocsi: the meaning of this one if unknown but I’m guessing it’s something significant if she’s chosen not to reveal it.
Svarignon: meaning unknown, I’ll be filling this one in myself at some point, maybe even soon and publicly.
Name Meanings
Aronomoli: catalyst
On Gnomish Names
I originally made Miri for PNP, and the long name was inspired by something I read in the PHB that said that Gnomes had really long names but tended to shorten them around non-Gnomes for sanity’s sake.
The way I figure it, her name in its entirety has to accurately form a word picture of exactly what she is: her personality, her history and her destiny.
Oh, and she’s on the verge of gaining an additional name, depending on how current events pan out. She’s at something of a crossroads here. Miri’s been telling people that her name’s only going to get longer as she gets older... and it will.
I know people who play other Gnomes have their own versions of the Gnomish culture so I’m thinking maybe this is something only certain Gnomes do? Certain families or clans? That’s how I explain it to myself anyway.
Former Masters - Overview
The list is incomplete on purpose. Sometimes I randomly add to it if I think of something funny; mostly I just leave it open in case she needs a master for her ongoing story to prove a point. I like to use them as examples; the only criteria are (1) they must be insanely funny or impossible, (2) they can’t like paladins or Midor, or must be indifferent (yes, even Lluelallia) and (3) their story must be one that can be used as a fable.
Former Masters - List
(1) [Jevaros] A Rakshasa merchant (does Vives have Rakshasa? Failing that, some sort of really bizarre atypical merchant, like a demon or something). Has probably eaten or sold her parents and sister by now. Would have eaten Miri too but she befuddled him by proving his security insufficient then proposing a design for a new one. At age 12. Someone else got eaten that day. She got promoted from being a prisoner to working in security very quickly.
(2) [Lluelallia] An angel. Smote Master #1 and all his cronies with a righteous sword of flaming divine power. Got to Miramil and was utterly befuddled also. Utilised Miramil to free prisoners and be generally useful before setting her loose.
(3) Unknown at this point, but Miramil met Master #3 the day after being released by #2.
(4) [Adasha Strudelmeyer] Sorceress and mother. See The Emperor of Bollywop Boople. Killed in an unfortunate wand accident by her little son, Johnny, who accidentally used a wand of missiles on her and her husband. See, wands don’t kill people; people kill people.
(8) [“Gin”] Old Gnomish scientist with a name over 40 words long. Very smart, very sharp character who was interested in how the mind functioned—and thus did lots of experiments on brains. An experienced and intelligent woman, yet she died a tragic death by experimenting on her own brain in an inexplicable fit of sudden madness. Strange. Very strange indeed...
(10) [Bobel Fredderoc] Halfling spy and master of subterfuge. Left without warning or explanation. Any skills in acting/subterfuge/etc is assumed to have been taught to Miramil by Bobel.
(12) [Name has not yet been defined] This is the unfortunate guy who got eaten by rabid badgers.
(14) [Name has not yet been defined] Orc Chief, adopted Miri as his daughter. Then tried to marry her off to some Orc prince. The other clan wasn’t impressed and declared war. The ensuing battle wiped out the populations of both clans clean.
(19) [Xaggoroth] Lich, owner of “The Biggest Book of Unfinished Tales (Unabridged and Copiously Illustrated)”. Vanished mysteriously, leaving no trace at all of his existence or that of his lair and undead army. See The Emperor of Bollywop Boople.
(23) [Name not yet defined] A candelabra, who escaped from a living mansion with his one true love, a chair. #23 always wanted to be an actor and is now happily a prop residing at the Stagecrafters in Port Royale. Alas, before he and his love made it to Port, they were separated—for a passing merchant mistook them for normal furniture and kidnapped his lady. She is still in Port... somewhere...
(Note: come to think of it, that would make a FUN permanent quest. Tee hee! I might write it up, since I do know my way around the toolset. Oh, and the really really funny thing is I wrote THIS one up long before I knew ANYTHING about Carfax. Coincidence, I say!)
(33) [Name not yet defined] Half-Elf wizard, absent-minded and prone to forgetting his own name. Misremembered a Flame Arrow spell and cast Fireball instead. In a swamp full of volatile gases. It’s not a swamp any more... and he’s not alive any more either.
(36) [Luvalior El’wyl’aren] Snooty Elven tailor, reeeeally hates Dwarves, the meanest master Miramil has ever had. He took “The Biggest Book of Unfinished Tales (Unabridged and Copiously Illustrated)” off her. And made her CRY, the meanie! She left him when she spotted the Emperor and the Emperor told her to come with him. See The Emperor of Bollywop Boople.
(37) [Emperor Balthazag] See The Emperor of Bollywop Boople. At the start of her adventures in Vives proper, Miramil had been with the Emperor for nearly a year. Thus, she’s spent roughly forty years in servitude at Level 1.
(38) [Mandrake] Player character. See Gears.
(38) [Trent] Player character. See Gears and Cold.
Current Status
Miri’s at a crossroads where she will either become more independent or continue to get used. I have a feeling she’s tilting towards the latter, poor thing. If she goes with the former option, she’ll likely become a crazy mad inventor.
Tasked by Trent to spy on her friends and pass on any information about: (1) Their plans to do with him and Jet (2) Anything to do with Midor that he can pass on to Vidus (3) Any other relevant or important plans they might have
Will stand by Trent, yet is also working against herself now, thanks to 2 things Shihaya’zad said, which were:
If anyone, he will only harm himself.
Other PCs (okay, and DMs who like to lurk and watch and giggle at her antics) will attest to the fact that she gets fiercely overprotective of her masters at times and will defend them like a mother hen. Even if they’re lousy bosses. Tristan’s been scolded heaps of times over the Emperor, the silly Half-Human. After all, she doesn’t know how to exist without a master. She doesn’t know how capable she is of thinking for herself and would probably wither away without someone to follow. So she thinks.
Oh yes, and there’s that Gabriel thing, but I’mmm not tellllling. Hee hee hee! I’ll leave that to DB if he so chooses.
Okay, and quote #2 now, which is the quote she absolutely completely vehemently disagreed with in Cold:
So he failed at life. Miserably. He did not deserve any better.
Since Trent has strictly ordered her not to tell anyone that he’s her new boss, and not to speak of any of her tasks, she can’t start bopping Shihaya’zad on the head with a tambourine and pouring tanglefoot goo and Slaad tongues down the back of her robes. However. She is going to fix Trent. She is going to do it in a way that dovetails with whatever plan Blanche comes up with. I have an inkling of the various possibilities she has in mind but we shall see.
It hinges on Blanche finding Trent and chatting to him. And Miramil being there when she does. Blanche was being too soft when she spoke to him at Brandibuck and tried to turn him. So if what Blanche says in her final chat to Trent doesn’t redeem him, what Miramil says had better, because she’s going to go all-out vicious and heavy-handed. Be there or be square! Raar! Ferocious Gnome will be unleashed and she will make silly Mister Trent regret ever wearing black! RAAR! *Rattles a tambourine*

Miramil's been recurited by the Emissary of Undeath, Gabriel, to retreive the body of High Captian Jongras after he is executed. Here is her plan. I have to say, she rivals Johe:
Part 1
Miramil being Miramil, the plan is loose and adaptable. Here goes:
(1) Get squishified somewhere in the vicinity of Midor, where the survey team is sure to patrol.
(2) The staff at Midor Infirmary know her well so there's no point in getting a disguise or a new identity. And Gabriel said Midor ignores Gnomes (hmm, come to think of it, the paladin that accused her, Bereil and Anarion of killing Sir Lanson did ignore her).
Now, between Sir Peter and pre-vampire Sir Trent, she's got enough of an inkling of what it's like to be a zealot of Midoran. So. This time, upon being rescued, start praising Midoran and becoming a Midoran zealot. I mean, they're always happy to convert people, right? Shouldn't be too hard.
(Side note: she's good at pretending because she fools herself. Every time she tells a lie there's always the possibility she'll forget it's a lie. So there's a possibility this new pretense will become the truth. Just a warning there.)
Back on track: after being happy and squiggly and stuff, she'll ask if she can be of any use to the Temple. As I said, the Infirmary knows her pretty well by now thanks to too many rescues, so they'll probably get her in. Infiltration of Midor - check.
(3) From here it's a matter of befriending the various knights and priests (and maybe some invisible listening at doors) to find out about the secret execution of the High Captain.
(4) There's a likelihood the Temple will have nothing to do with the disposal of the body, but she's gonna darn well try and get on body disposal duty.
Failing that - find out when and where the execution will be, then try to invisibly spy on the execution and disposal. That's a last resort. She's really quite wary of See Invisibility and True Seeing.
(5) As for corpse removal - that may require either a scroll or a mage with a Bigby's Hand spell. Umm... *checks spells*... Bigby's Grasping Hand. Or a summon capable of carting off the body. Or a scroll of Polymorph Self: cast invisibility and haste, then polymorph into an umber hulk or troll. Or a pack ox. This bit's still TBA and is a work in progress. Besides, she needs time to buy scrolls and test to see whether she's got a decent chance of making the UMD check.
(6) From there, an invisible trek to somewhere not too far away where nosy adventurers don't poke around. The Frobozz Mines, most likely. Summon Gabriel, the end. Ta da!
(Side note #2: this'll all go to heck and fail if she does it at the same time Bereil tries to assassinate Vidus, hee hee hee. Or maybe she could use that as a diversion, hmmm.)
Part 2
This is pretty much what she's done so far and what the cold part of her is thinking.
~*~
Analysis of areas in the recent vicinity complete. Target area: Maldovia. Nearly dying will not be necessary... and is far too risky in that area, considering its nature. Injury will not even be necessary; only proof that the island was visited. Belladonna should be sufficient proof. And one very scared Gnome.
Perhaps coincide running away from the shore with the approach of one of the Midoran survey team patrols. Have to be sufficiently rattled to be inconsolable by the infirmary and taken to the temple.
Preliminary visit to Maldovia suggests an encounter with a Revenant, as well as the sight of the victims in the Inn, should be sufficient material to base act of fear upon.
~*~
Room in the Unicorn Inn has a bookshelf entirely on Midoran and the city of Midor, as expected. Research material there is more than sufficient to produce the persona of a Midoran-worshipping zealot, as well as understand the psychology of those who actually are.
Using "Midoran's will be done" a lot works too. People like hearing what they say repeated back to them. And people like having their egos fed.
~*~
Polymorph Spell too difficult to read from scroll; margin of error too high. Will not be able to use scrolls higher than about 3rd circle, meaning resorting to Pack Ox and Gnomish engineering.
Or... learn to be a mage. Very quickly—in a few short days. Have been travelling extensively with Bereil to places such as Dragon lairs, Xorn lairs, Fenguul and the likes to observe and study his methods. Is it possible? Probably not, but the probability is not so low as to be completely unattainable. We'll see... |

For the public forums?
In case anyone ever forgot or never wrote down her full name, there it is.
Fun fact: I used to have her name written on a piece of paper under my keyboard. I never had a macro set up for it. I typed it (blazingly quickly) every time. |

Ficcy almost didn't make it past the application process.
Clearly the process was flawed. |
