Being raised for over a century by Alenia, I was always told the races of Human and Dwarf, were at best... smelly. Aye I agree they do have a pungent odor about them all the time. Be it ale, or sweat, they do tend to be a foul bunch. Ah the smells of oak after a morning rain... ooops, nice thoughts aye.
I still believe though that there is hope for them, but the animals I have talked to provide so much more intuitive conversations than that Gattab, although he's nice enough for a dwarf, he still smells bad. Alenia was right I see, ah for shame, that something as bad as an odor will stick to the front of ones perceptions.
I had thought that maybe my friend slick would have been helpful for me when I wandered into the cities of man.. He was always so boastful of how he did this, or he did that all under the noses of man. Alas he did not fair well in the lands of beasts, and you'd think a rat would do well. Ah while I was being attacked by that grump of a grizzly, I talked a sweet brown bear into helping me get away, but poor slick didnt make it. The brown bear was so upset she asked what the rat's name was, and I told her it was slick, ah she says. I would like to help you and travel with you, and I'll be as slick was. And she took Slick's name and has been a good friend since then.
Powerful creature she is, and so gentle, ah and she smells woodsy unlike slicks sour smell. So henceforth she is Slick. And she has been such a good friend these past few days, always the protector, she has often led me into some hazards, but she is good intentioned nevertheless.
All this has prompted me to make a decision. I tried something that Alenia told me of once, and I shifted my body into that of a bears shape, and I wow... I weigh so much now. The strength flowing through my arms, my legs, the warmth of fur. I am most pleased with this form albeight humans and dwarves have been looking at me as if I would eat them... silly people. I feel so much closer to nature now, the animals that I loved to talk to are now so much clearer to my senses, and I feel their presence even more.
I have decided that the world of humans and dwarves is a fine place for them, but the world of the wild is so much purer. I have since tried other shapes, and have found that that of a red wyrmling has way to much of a spicy aftertaste, but eh it is a wonderful feeling flying, and the fire I breathe out is easier to control now... except for that small patch of grass I darkened, its fairly easy to control. I will have to try other wyrmling shapes later to see if they are as exciting as red.
I still believe being a bear is more noble, and it may be preferred over 2 legs. I will see how I feel after summer hits, Im wondering how warm I will be with fur.
