Player Guidelines Ideas

-Scaffold-
As some of you might know, we'd soon be opening from pre-beta to an open public beta. I'd like to have a place to to refer to for server rules. What should be in here? Some things on top of my head are:
(i) Talk modes - Shout/Party/OOC indicator etc.
(ii) PvP - incl. stuffs like setting traps etc.
(iii) PP / disarm
(iv) exploit policies / hard limits to what degree of advantages are considered exploits (e.g. 10,000+ gp-value / hour)
(v) item transfer (muling)
(vi) metagaming
(vii) DM dispute handling
(ix) item restriction (a thread is setup already in essential information)
(x) and... your input here?
Please start a new discussion thread for each of the categories you'd like to be discussed, as probably there are not so clear cut issues that we should talk thru together given some more knowledge of the world. |

tip - a direct link from desktop

As a PC user, I found creating a shortcut on my desktop with the following command line ...
C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe +connect 66.30.190.230 [5121] +password xxx
... a big help and speedy way to connect. (replace xxx with current password.).

after installing SoU this command line appears not to work ... something connected to the new CD key. Anyone have a workaround?

Can someone find a link to rules we did already? I remember on the old site there were a TON of little tid bits we all put in for a big list of server rules, like meta-gaming, PK, PP, etc etc...
Did it get erased? I can't find it, but I know it consisted of about 10 or so topics

Yeah Fen, those links were stickys on the old site. I've yet to add that feature in (or at least to figure out if it's already in here somewhere and turn it on). So... another items on my list of to-dos.

I saw them useing stickies on the ASP.net website.. I just dont know how they did it (they called them pinned btw)

There is a program about called NWLauncher (try a search on NWVault.com). THis enales direct connect and you are able to modify it easily for psw etc I think.
