IMPORTANT! New Bioware Patch. Posted: 07 Oct 2004 02:34 PM |
IMPORTANT!: PLEASE ALL READ!
When you attempt to connect to Multiplayer with NeverWinter Nights you will get a message asking whether you wish to update.
This is the new patch (1.64) Bioware has released.
If you wish to play Vives please do -NOT- Update. If you do, you will not be able to play.
First of all We need to find out what's in it (Bioware hasn't even released any info, nor updated it's website yet).
Then we will need to Update our server to 1.64 which will take a little time, as it will mean a new small hak to Download (2da, very small)........ and also alterations to our scripts etc to accomodate the new "features" Bioware has deemed to include.
We'll let you know ASAP when the new hak is available, and when to update to 1.64. In the meantime, if you wish to continue to play Vives, please do NOT update....... if you have mistakenly, then please post and we'll let you know what to do.

Its not working because I think its the wrong rebuild; its for those with HotU installed but not SoU.
Go to http://nwn.bioware.com/support/patch_revert_hotu.html and select the "NWN: Hordes of the Underdark (English) with Shadows of Undrentide installed 1.64 to 1.62 revert patch" (that's the top one) and follow the instructions on the same page to revert. |

We'ew in the Process of adding/creating the new haks which will make us 1.64 compliant :)
so far everything -seems- to be going smoothly, but no doubt when we've done a couple of full builds on the module, something or other will be buggered up (Most likely by me lol)
Anyways, assuming everything is fine (and that's a big assumption from past experiences) then we'll hopefully be upgrading to full-on 1.64 status this Weekend......
NOTE: We'll be uploading the new haks to Neverwinter Vault and linking folks to them (to save our bandwidth)......... We'll try to ensure they're available for a day or so before we upgrade, to give folks a chance to download them/it (it will be one file).

Indeed. Can we get some previews!
Also is the hak going to be installed on the same server. Just so i dont download at busy times if thats the case. |

OKAY First of all the Hak will be hosted at Neverwinter Vault just like our others, so there'll be no problem with it lagging the game or anything whilst folks DL em :)
For a Sneak Preview of what's in it here's some highlights:
(1) Several new tilesets:
Gothic Estate & Gardens (awesome).
Proper Dwarven Halls.
Elven Interiors.
An addition to our Forest tileset that adds tree-houses, cliffs and stairs, ships, Lakes, and other Elven-type stuff (what Ferein has been waiting for :P).
Additions to the Rural tileset, including rolling hills, Beaches!, Sand, Shallow Water you can wade through etc.....
A new separate Forest/Rural kinda tileset with rolling hills and all that gubbins.
(2) New clothing types including: Proper Samurai Armour, Hauberks, Elven Chain, Togas (and additional Lisa stuff), more oriental stuff, Cavalier hats etc, more Wizard robes..... basically a SHEDLOAD of new armour/clothing types.
(3) New placeables: including stained glass Windows, fences & walls, statues etc etc...
(4) New monsters including (not all of em though :P) Dinosaurs (Raptors, T-Rex that sorta thing), Unicorns, Yuan-ti abominations/purebloods, SHEEP!, Griffon, Chimera,Slimes & puddings, more Demon models, and a VERY big surprise :)
(5) New Weapon types (lots of em).
(6) A shedload of new shields e.g. Many with Heraldry on them, cool for Knights and such, plus Savage shields and Viking type ones :)
(7) Other misc. stuff, including Dynamic Quivers (that show on your back when you have arrows equipped and don't when you don't) :D
Anyway that's a taster :P

Sorry it's taking us a while to update to 1.64 folks :/
Normally it would only take a Day to update our existing haks/add in existing ones/sort out any scripts Bioware messed with.
HOWEVER, some odd things are happening at present......... it looks like Bioware are kinda wrong when they say that the toolset supports a theoretically infinite number of haks associated with any one module.
What's happening is that when we add the new haks, the toolset is "chopping off" (technical term that :P) the top X number of haks, thus they aren't showing in game (even telling us that we can't open that module because it can't find'em).
So, atm it looks like there is indeed a limit to how many haks can be associated....... this means that all the grooviness we want to add is gonna take a bit more time :/ As we'll have to merge hakpaks (20 or so) into 1. This (rather annoyingly) means that we might also have to merge some existing ones :/
We'll get to the bottom of it and keep you updated!

That's the issue for those interested.
Looks like Bioware are wrong :/ and there's maximum we can use, thus we now need to proceed with incorporating 25 haks into 1 hak.

GRRRR Those Bastards.... I ran into this problem several months ago.. and My Vives module hasn't been openable since...
On the other side.. I did say that Vives would one day Pay for having a bunch of haks instead of combining them..... |

| Well Vives had like 20 haks.... I guess I'm just weird because all the server's I'd played in only had 1-3... some of which I'd designed.. (the haks, not the servers) |

We've successfully merged the new haks we want to use into 3 (there were 24 :P) and We've merged some of our older ones also, to give us some headroom.
So things are going pretty Well :)
Just some smallish conflicts to iron out, and we should be 1.64 some time next week :)
