A follower in the making - Prologue. Posted: 19 Sep 2004 01:46 PM |
Arechious Moledon's journal, The second volume out of three, chapter eleven: "The head librarian's work", page one:
"Few know the actual reason I started working at the library. True, I was intrested in the knowledge of the divine and magical; there was an event that driven me to start my research, and eventually to become the head librarian. The event is mentioned in one of my earlier writings, but this is the first time I am admitting, that was the reason for my position, at this time. Those that are intrested, could read about the event at the first volume of my journal, chapter nine: "my last monthes of wandering", at page four hundred fifty six."
*The chapter continues with the description of the head librarian's chors, and duties. The ups and downs of the job, and some fascinating details about the time that takes two rats eat five and a half books, and equations of books' lifetime based on their materials*
Below, is the part mentioned in te above writing - Arechious Moledon's journal, volume one out of three, chapter nine: "my last monthes of wandering", page four hundred fifty six:
"It was a dark night, as most winter nights are...
The stench of death and blood filled the air, and the horrifying scenario was revealed as the fog cleared. There were tens, no, hundreds of lifeless bodies at the battlefield. I was watching, tried to understand the reason for all of this, and then, I noticed them. Two blur figures were standing a the middle of the mess, they looked at one of the corpses, and started talking."
*At the margin of the page, was a writing, from the brightness of the ink you could tell it was written later*
"I am not sure what the tounge they spoke at was, but I know it wasnt the common language we use at Aristi."
*The journal continues: *
"They spoke for a few minutes, and then, they noticed me. I am not sure what they did, but one of the corpses caught on fire. The first being laughed for a moment and disappeard! just vanished at mid-air! I started running to the other one, I should have known that was a mistake... The black figure (I noticed it was wearing a dark cloak when I got close enough) looked at me, I am not sure for how long, but I know it's gaze was the dreadful sight I have ever seen. His, I am almost sure it was a male, eyes turned red slowly, and started burning with fire. What happend at the following seconds is, as this story, beyond my understanding; the figure disappeard leaving a monster behind, it looked like a giant bat, but it was red, and I think I saw scales shining at the light of my torch. The creature roared at me, and I passed out. I woke up the following morning, maybe it was more than one night, I know not how long I wasn't awake. Farmers from the nearby farms came to take a look at the field, and I woke up to their voices. When I woke up, the creature wasnt there, I thanked all the gods I could name. I.. I cannot continue now. The only thing I know, is that this day will change my life forever."

This is the beginning of the new story.
"Congratulations it's a boy!" yelled one of the sisters.
"he is wonderful.. isnt he?", she smiled at her husband while holding the baby.
The day the baby was born.
Suddenly, she screamed; a demon entered the room.
"Hand over that baby!", was the cruel demand of that being. "What do you want from us?", said the shocked father, "Get lost!". and this, is where he has done his mistake: He took his wooductting axe from the corner of the room and charged at the demon; a moment later, the father's head was rolling on the floor.
The mother fainted, dropping the baby on the bed.
The Nameles, was heading to finish his mission. He started with the woman, tearing her apart with his claws.
The day his parents died.
But when he turned to the baby.. it was gone. The Nameles, with his anger, ruined the house where they lived. killing the sister that was hiding behind dinner table by doing so.
The day his life were saved.
About a mile above, the bird was holding the baby. It was more or like an eagel (the bird, not the baby), and was holding the baby with her talons.
The bird returned to the temple of Vilyave, handing the baby to one of the priestesses. "I see you have completed your task", said the priestess. The bird repliad with an "ack". The priestess turned to the others. "At the command of Vilyave we will take care for this child and raise him. he will know that he was left at the entrance of the temple, by his parents. and he should not ask for more information"
"Wait,", said one of the younger clerics, blushing as she realised her lack of manners. "I mean.. what is his name?" The priestess that was holding him smiled. "From this day forth, he will be called Keron, Keron Darichel. that is the name our godess has chosen for him".
The day when the baby was named Keron.
To be continued...
((p.s I think I might change this later.. I mean.. the way I described what happend. didnt really like it)) |

"Master Dar-Chel, the council is waiting." said the short assitant, Lans.
"The council can wait, there are thing heavier on the scales right now.", replied the master.
"Bu.. I mean.. They sent me to tell you they plan the attack to happen soon", elaborated Lans.
"Those fools! I have spoken to -him- and he said we will delay the attack for more than a month! We were planning this for two years now! If we will lose -his- support we will all end up dead!", the master shouted, and hit the table with his fist. This is not a good sign, Dar-Chel was never known for being calm tho.
"Yes master, I know.. they only sent me to..", He never finished the sentence. he caught on dark flame as master Dar-Chel snapped his fingers.
"They will not ruin the work of my life time!"
He exited the room, and headed out of his estate, planning what he will do with the other council members.

*master Dar-Chel raged into the council room* "Scarletto! you usesless rat! we have already decided to delay the attack!"
"Dear Kairon..", smirked Scarletto, "It seems like you havent realised it yet. I am the head of this council, and I am the one that takes the desicions", he grind.
Kairon's fists were shaking. "We have disscussed this, and we decided to delay as -he- told us to! We are not even close to ready, it will be suciding!"
"I have changed my mind, and as the head of this council I say the council has changed it's mind. We will attack tomorrow, and there is nothing you can do about this." said Scarletto, still smirking.
"I.. I am warning you!", shouted Dar-Chel
"Warn? me?", said Scarletto with a raised eyebrow, looking very pleased of himself.
Dar-Chel just ignored him "I do not know your motives, but I can assure you that you will be thrown out of your 'throne'!"
He stormed out of the room.
"Intresting.. but not enough", Scarletto called his servant from the corner of the room. He pulled a scroll out of one of his pockets. "Give this to the council members, we will attack at sunset tomorrow."
After the servant left he talked to himself. "And I will have the pleasure of seeing Dar-Chel's death"
