This thread will be used for informing the players of essential information they must know regarding the game mechanics and side effects of the vives world.
Please check from time to time so that you are up-to-date on possible game bugs that could affect your game play.

Important Warnings - OOC Area

Our OOC area has some code to prevent exploitation of this area.
Unfortunately, there are some side effects that you must be aware of:
1/ Items dropped on the floor will be removed after no more than a minute. Don't drop items on the floor if you wish to keep them.
2/ The barter window is considered the same as dropping your items. Don't use the barter window in the OOC area.
If you ignore these rules, and you lose your items, the DM's and admins may or may not replace your items, depending on the evidence, your believability and the amount of time that the DM's/Admins have.
Best advice? Please try to avoid this problem now that the information is publically available.

Important Warnings - Rental Chests

For those of you that have managed to get your hands on rental containers, you should be aware of the following behaviours
Gold Storage
If you store gold in your chests, be aware of the fact that due to bugs in the way that NWN engine handles the storage of gold, it is likely that you will end up losing most of what you have stored. There is nothing we can do about this. If you lose your gold, it's gone. Sorry, you have been warned, so please don't do it.
For those of you that insist on doing it, this is a suggestion: Store it in groups of 50,000. No more. If you do it this way, there is a greater chance that you will be able to keep your gold stored without losing it.
However, if you do lose it, it's gone. A thief in the night came by for a visit and took the excess.
PS: If you have a mailbox, don't ever store gold in there. Anyone can come along and remove it. If you do so, and your gold goes missing, A thief in the night came by for a visit and took the excess
Storing Packs in Rental Containers
Yes, you can do it, and use that to effectively by-pass the 20 items limit. However, be warned that sometimes the contents of the packs can get lost. We don't know why, but again, it is a bug in the inventory handling of the NWN engine. If you lose something that was stored in a pack in a chest, it is gone. If you have an important item you wish to keep, don't store it in a pack in a rental container. This is the sure way to keep your item.
