CITIZENS!

To all those interested and concerned in the promotion of justice and true worshippers of Midoran - a question.

Ask yourselves citizens, why it is that the paladins no longer seek to destroy evil.

Ask yourselves why the Order of Midoran no longer seek to destroy evil in Maldovia.

Has the abomination been defeated?

Could it be that it is being protected?

Could it be that all is not as it seems?

Ask yourselves this citizens - or perhaps instead ask Vidus.

*An Excerpt from a public address of Vidus Khain, Lord-Bishop of MIdor*
Posted: 03 Jul 2004 11:17 AM
Vidus held up a copy of the seditious notice, of which the final copy had only recently been removed, to the gathered crowed.

"See this," he shouted, his voice filled with anger, his eyes burning with intensity. "See how the true evil seeks to bend our will, to courrupt our minds, and to distract us from our purposes. Yes, Maldovia is a threat, yet how can the Order of Midoran destory an external evil when there is so much evil in our very walls!

"The corrupt influence of false gods, of elves and dwarves, hammer at our resolve. They seek to weaken our will in order to defeat us from within. I say this to all true enemies of Midor, 'We will not be moved. Your pathetic attempts to disuade our holy purposes will be met with resistance and, in the end, your death. You cannot win against the True Light.'

"We cannot ignore this threat, and messages such as this are only signs that we must strengthen our resolve. Therefore, the following orders are hereby implimented in Midor.

"The Midoran guard reserves the right to detain, question, and execute all those suspected of Heresy.

"We must reduce the threat of unholy sympathizers from working within Midor. Effective immediatly, all property, including land and buildings, owned by elves, who have proven themselves to be enemies of Midor, is hereby seized by the holy Church of Midor.

"The guard already has the ability to stop, question, and detain anyone based on suspcious activity. Now, the authority to imprison dissidants indefinatly is granted to the guard. This will help us control the external threats that continue to pour into Midor.

"All elves staying in Midor for more then two days must register at the Law Courts. Failure to do so will result in arrest and imprisonment. Remember, my people, the only ones that will refuse to register are evil criminals with something to hide.

"Punishment for the crimes of all non-citizens, who are the main threat to Midoran security, no long require a trial by the Tribunal. All punishments will go through the office of the Lord-Protector and Lord-Bishop Vidus Khain, who's wisdom is granted from Midoran's own touch.

"My dear people, rejoice. We enter a new age of security and peace in Midor. We shall hunt down the heretics and villans that threaten our homes, lives, and faith. The strength of the Church shall stand firm, and our enemies will fall before us.

"And when our enemies have been purged from our midst, then we shall march on the evil in the world." He crumples the paper into a ball and throws it on the ground, "Especially the evil of Maldovia. And beyond."

The Lord-Bishop turned and strode away, leaving the crowd in silence. Slowly, then with increasing intensity, a cheer issued forthfrom the crowd. The cheering lasted for over a half-hour, and the exuberant crowed remained for much longer then that.

Soon, posts were seen throughout the city of Midor telling of the edicts issued by the Lord-Bishop. By the next morning, there were rumors ((just rumors, mind you, no proof, which are to be known IC by all)) of people vanishing from their homes. Yet nothing was said, and nothing was done, for the Will of the Just Hand was surely being served.

CITIZENS AND TRUE WORSHIPPERS OF MIDORAN!

Once more is the Order revealed for what it truly is?

Once more the true evil of Maldovia is ignored and pushed to the background!

Are our memories truly that short?

Is there no one among us who remembers the battle of Midor?

Was it elves that attacked and roamed the streets that day?

Was it dwarves?

Was it perhaps the overwhelming force of Brandibuck who tried to bring the city we love to its knees?

NO!

It was the undead, my friends.

The undead that are allowed to go unchecked by the ‘White Bishop’

There are those still among us who remember the truth – who lost friends and family in that battle.

There are those still among us who remember where the Lady Fr’iel was that day too.

WHO RULES HERE FRIENDS?

*Romulus cloaked, needing entrance to the catacombs of the city had to make his way VERY carefully through the streets. Especially with the new security measures. If he had to go anywhere, he was running, and if he MUST be seen, it was only for brief seconds and quick hellos. He passed by the latest message from Vidus, and saw an easy opportunity to shift attention away from the undead*He marked clearly under the message.

"Aye! It is internally we must focus our attention, there is corruption, and the great Vidus will lead us through it. We must focus our attention internally, and remove what fouls our ranks and our streets now! To focus on problems abroad at this time would only spell disaster for the citizens of midor! May the Great hand of Midoran Justice lead us, and the great Vidus will do well to carry out his will!" satisfied with his attempt to draw attention Romulus saw guards approaching, and left the message unsigned as he darted for the sewers.
