The history of Narissa Leann

Narissa is curently 24 years of age, and a dedicated Ranger.
Born Narissa Telgaar and raised amongst humans, the Ranger knows little about her elven mother and, whilst maintaining that parent's grace and beauty, she is far more like her ever practical human father. She holds little of the elvish distrust of Dwarfs - most of what was left has been dispersed during her travels - preferring to judge the people she meets based upon their intentions rather than their appearance or reputation.
At the age of 19 she married Hareth Leann who was 24 at the time, always knowing that her elven blood would have her outlive her husband, but never realising by how long. When she was 21 he was killed in their woodland home by goblin raiders led by an evil shamen - injured, she took up her dying husband's blades and fought the goblins off, mysteriously helped by a greying wolf who was fatally wounded in the fight.
With his dying breaths the wolf charged her to devote her life to the defence of all living creatures in return for his help. Unable to save wolf or human from their wounds she left her home and, with only her bow in her hand, her husband's sword slung at her back, her hunting dagger and a pack of food, she set off to follow her new calling and repay her debt to the wolf.
Currently Narissa travels the lands, helping where she can, and driven ever onwards by her promise to a dying, aged wolf. Hareth's blade is long broken, but every time Narissa has a new blade reforged she has the pommel reused in memorial to her long fallen husband and in reminder of her calling.
She yearns for the day when she is suffciently accomplished in the arts of the wild to raise a wolf cub as her companion. |
