Arathon's Progress: Posted: 28 May 2004 01:57 PM |
Just a quick update as to the progress on the rather large update I'm working upon........
What I'm doing at the moment is largely working upon Underground areas in the North Part of the Lands and a couple of other locations, spanning from Port Royale in the North West all the way across to the Jungles and Fenghuul in the North East, and then down (at present) to the Desert regions.
I'm also in the process of finishing off some other areas and Quests that I've been promising for a while now....... so all told it's a pretty big update! Hence the delays etc..... I just wanted to apologise for the paucity of player-noticeable updates from myself as of late, but soon (very) hopefully you shall all "witness" the fruits of my labours :)
A Few highlights include:
- The Entirely redone Undraeth Region and Citadel, plus outlying areas. - More "developments" in Nethar'u. - Lots of new critters, including Atalan, Deep Dragons (and many more varieties besides), Beholders, Illithid, Maur,Demi-Liches, Quth Maren,Slaad, more variants on "favourites", and Lots and lots of Demonic sorts. - Fixing up existing merchants and their inventories, plus quite a few new ones in other locations. - More area specific treasure tables, so for example in a mage tower, pretty much all one would expect to find is scrolls and wands etc.... - Quite a number of new Quests (also for lower levels, and ones non-fighting/bashing orientated). - The continuation/extension of several existing Quests. - Quite a large number of new items (many are purely cosmetic, and lower level)...... I'm envisaging that items found as loot would be quite vastly different underground that overland. - Ilhuin. - ShadeMere - This is a huge Underground Lake upon Which Undraeth sits, and is quite a large place to explore/die. - Some more simple CNR-related Quests. - Player homes :P - The Travel/Boating system. - The possibility of a University teaching people languages etc...... (still thinking on this).
Quite a bit more really.......... but safe to say the module will have undergone quite a large update by Monday.
Cheers :)

Re: Arathon's Progress: Posted: 30 May 2004 02:54 PM |
Just a quick update..........
I'm aiming to get quite a bit in game and accessable to players today....... a word of Warning though: There areas are in varying difficulty but are really only suitable for groups of mid-level players or High level solo players.
You will also need to think very carefully about Tactics and use a bit of nouse is some areas, they are not really to be rushed into....... so pity the players whose characters are psychotics ;)
I'll let you know when it's in game...... I'll be doing a variety of updates today/this evening, but will let you know which one has made the areas accessable.
Cheers

Oki
After numerous crashes and whatnot I haven't connected up/finished as much as I'd like..... however there are now new areas and updates accessible to players.... not gonna tell you all where, but I think from discussions in irc it might be a tad obvious :/
NOTE: These are quite dangerous areas in this update and not particularly suitable for lower level characters or those who wish to venture alone.
Over the Coming Week I hope to be expanding and updating quite a lot, some areas you may come across still need a little work, but the bones are there In fact I hope to get another update in game tonight (GMT).
So have fun, try not to die, and I'll let you know when the next update is to be :)
Cheers
