On a particularly warm evening, a man was walking along the shore watching the sunset when he stumbled upon what looked like a book. It was soaked and covered with seaweed. He cleaned off the seaweed to find "Janus Oceanmast" written in golden letters across the cover of the book. As his curiosity overcame him, he opened the book to find a journal entry. Unfortunately, there were many parts left illegible because of the water smearing the ink. The man could only make out about half of it because the second half was smeared to a point where it was completely illegible. From what he could read, it said:

"Afta teh incident on (illegible) island when I was a wee bitty child, my momma (illegible) to teh pirates 'cuz she said sumtin 'bout (illegible) bein' 'er friend an' such. She 'anded me ova to dem an' frum den on (illegible) on teh ship. Dah first mate taught me da ropes an' (illegible). I catched on pretty fast, I did. 'Bout a monf afta I turned to teh age o' 16, I 'cided I (illegible) me friends frum de old island. When I talked to deh cap'n, 'ee tol' me dat (illegible) wuz gonna 'appen sooner er lata. Now, we (illegible) to deh famous Port Royale, so dey can drop me off teh find me frien's, but dere be a big storm 'round us (illegible) been rockin' more den usual. Frum whut I ova 'eard we shad be in deh Port in a few hours..."
*the rest was completely illegible*

The man looked up from the journal and thought, "poor girl lost her journal". He began to gaze out into the sea as if looking for something to show up. He sat there for about five more minutes. After the sun finally went down, the man shrugged, and headed home with the soggy journal under his arm. . . . .
