Boracks, a lad leaves home Posted: 30 Mar 2004 12:41 AM |
Boracks had his problems as a lad; he was just a bit brighter than the rest of the boys in his village area but not wise enough to keep it from showing. He learned to use his fists early but didn't really enjoy it. Oh, he liked the combat but he didn't really want to hurt anyone unless they deserved it.
Boracks grew up into a fairly muscular young man. His parents weren't too happy with him as he was getting into trouble for reasons they couldn't understand. So when a couple of professional fighters came through the village and mentioned a school, Boracks decided it would be best to go and learn real combat stuff. He left his parents a note and, following directions from the professionals, wound up in a school learning sword and shield.
The time came when Boracks was good enough to go out and apply his new skill and learn more by doing. His teacher let him know that Boracks would be gone the next day.
Boracks thought that this meant he would be leaving in the morning to start his travels. Instead, the next morning he woke up in an inn that, as it turned out, was a short walk to Port Royale.
His adventure was just beginning. |
