As the rain thundered down around her, Sharra stood looking over the spot where the Azure Lights headquarters had once stood. She ran a hand over the bundle under her arm, wrapped in tightly to reassure herself that her precious harp was still safe.
"Sharra? Are you ready?"
Suddenly aware of the cold and rain, she turned to see her sister standing a short way behind her.
"Yes, just... give me a moment."
Taking a piece of parchment out of her bag, she nailed it to a nearby piece of timber, sheltered from the downpour. Turning, she jumped down to where Rania stood, and together the two sisters made their way towards the docks, and onto the waiting boat. As they sailed slowly out of Midor, Sharra watched the city fade into the torrential rain, and out of site.
The paper fluttered, and got spattered with raindrops, still readable to anyone who passed by, and happened to glance at it.

The ebbing tide will sweep me away from the noise and confusion and din. One tale is finished, and others will surely begin Of Passion and glory, a bloodsoaked story Of legends and myths they will sing.
Peace comes, Peace comes, Ever closer ever closer, Peace comes, Peace comes, Ever closer ever closer, And I long for the eve of the day.
My heart has grown weary of battles, my voice falters over the song This tale is finished, my voice can no longer belong. Passion and glory, and blood has been spilt, with friends who have fought at my side.
Peace comes, Peace comes, Ever closer ever closer, Peace comes, Peace comes, Ever closer ever closer, And I long for the end of the day.
Farewell fair city of hopes and of dreams, Your streets ever part of my heart. Good fortune grace you, A great city ever set apart. Passion and glory, a part of your story, Long may it ever remain.
((OOC: It's been great playing here guys, but for a variety of reasons, I'm wrapping it up for now. I've got University finals next term, so want to focus on them and there's a limit to what I can do. I may be back in June - we shall see!)) |
