Housing Shortage Posted: 17 Mar 2004 05:31 AM |
I am just curious. I have searched the land high and low. In high priced cities and poor obscure low-rent hovels in the wilderness. Are there ANY apartments for rent anywhere? Or houses for sale? I cant find so much as a room to rent.
Is this going to be addressed in the future? Because it strikes me as unfair if only older players on the server can Find housing, if others are willing to pay the same prices?
Just curious,

We've been looking at some "issues" with the current rental system..... so bear with us ;)
We're also likely to be doing some more permanent housing elsewhere too........ along with rental when said "issues" are sorted... Ferein springs to mind as one location as it is currently undergoing some "work".
So hang in there, and we'll get it sorted :D

Just a quick question about buying your own residence.
How much does this cost. Is it the 10,000 offered in Midor Estate Agents. And is it true you have to be 10th.
Is there a chance of Co-ownership? |

prices are at my/the DM's discretion.... you don't have to be a certain level.... just a good RPer and someone who has been with Vives a reasonable time (basically one who looks like staying so we don't waste our time building houses for people who leave a Week later :P)
Co-ownership is kinda possible..... I'll post more details later :D

Thank you!
Among the many things I love about Vives is that problems, when brought to the attention of the moderators / DM's, never stay problems for long. Thank you all for making this world the great place that it is.

Re: Housing Shortage Posted: 17 Mar 2004 01:56 PM |
We've never charged anything for persistant housing, just require that the person has been around for a while and is deserving of a house. These are manually put in as people have time, and additionaly, there is a caevet that there will be only one house per player (not character) and the houses are not transferable between characters.
Coownership of a persistant house is possible, and relativly easy.
Rental properties however do carry a rental fee that varies depending on the location. Coownership isn't easily doable, as it is a keyless system. Attempted to allow to people to rent the same space would be more headache than its worth. |

ON RENTALS:
the co-ownership is already happening because in certain rooms there are nmore than one door which provides access to said room and I believe that the "inkeeper" is just counting doors as rooms when in fact that is allowing 2 people access to the same room. |

I only referred to co-owenership because I thought there was a cost. How does one go about getting a house then. Evaramier would like one for the purposes of IC reasons.
Do we wait to be offered or do we ask the DMs? |

Wha?.. the only rental rooms that have two doors, the second door is plot locked. Can you provide specific details of where, with whom this is happening? |

| Dont know if this helps but Lambert and I both share a room in Icy Vale. But it only has 1 door. We just both have access |
