Something Wicked This Way Comes

Not that I play an evil PC or anything *cough*, but suppose I did...

Are there provisions for such characters as far as quests and DM interaction? I have seen that it is mildly discouraged to play such characters, but not forbidden. Thoughts?

I dont believe there is a large amount of scripted activities for evil players, however, evil is certainly not discouraged, and there are DM's how thoroughly enjoy DM'ing evil folks.

We do however require evil players to put alot more effort into how they play evil than required of the gooders playing good. We want everyone here to enjoy themselves, but never at the expense of another players enjoyment. Obviously, the evil folks have to be a bit more careful at this then gooders (though we expect the same forthought of gooders too).

If that made no sense, let me know and I'll try to reword it

Actually, it makes perfect sense! I just wanted to know the DMs' stance on it and your treatise certainly helps. It takes a fair amount of story in order to have "good" and "evil" interact without coming to blows and I have seen that the players handle it admirably here on Vives. I look forward to more PC interaction...

...and certainly look forward to DM interaction! >:)

I love seeing evil charachters on vives, especially well-played ones, ie subtle, manipulative and downright devious, the kind you trust until you're trying to reach the knife in your back.

Other servers I have played on, evil was not played well. It was just an excuse to be a dolt and run aroung killing guards. Blech.

But, well-played evil is a refreshing break from the "You shall fall before the righteous" routine...gads, the righteous can be so annoying sometimes.

I should introduce you to Vidus, one of my alter egos, someday. If I had more time to play here, he would definatly be around.

*nods* That righteousness routine can get old after awhile. I dont think I'd ever be able to be play evil though, so I'm currently walking the neutral path.

Evil's fun to RP. So long as you're mature about it, and people around you accept that it's possible to be mature about it.
