First Impression

I was able to log into the server last night with a new character as a first time player. I just wanted to say I was really impressed with the Intro. It combined an ooc area where I would find the necessary world info with an ic hook to get me ready to save the world or destroy it.

I also loved the ooc devices and the scripting that is involved. It's nice to actually have sundials that tell the time, even though the NWN game engines has that little clock in the display. A nice little added surprise.

Actually having trade skills again is something that I'm looking forward to as well. Its a nice way to have something to do when you can't find others to rp with.

The experience system is also fantastic at lower levels...gaining experience for working magic (as a wizard) and discovering new areas (as a low level character I'm guessing?) is a great way to help along new players/characters at the lower levels. Great idea!

The only thing I wasn't extremely excited about were the rest requirements. I understand food, but the time delay between rests (even though it isn't overly long) does make it difficult as a low level mage. My one magic missle and couple of rays of frost don't last very long. Smiley I do understand why it's implemented; however, to put some restrictions on the powerhouse mage characters. No worries, I can live with that.

Overall, I was very impressed with the place and am looking forward to exploring more of it and getting to meet some of you ingame, inchar and out.

The only thing that is disappointing is now I have to figure out some exit rps for some of the other pws that I won't have as much time on now. :)

Kudos to all of the builders, scripters, and thinkers who worked on this.

Glad you had a great experience! As for exploration RP, it is not just for low levels. XP for exploration varies on the difficulty of getting to an area, how close/far it is from standard traffic patterns, etc. Going to the desert will net you quite a bit more XP than your average inn at the main towns.

I totally agree and logged in briefly then also.

My character is not out of the Inn and I just love the place, well except for the dead animals all over the place . . . *laughs*

Had fun and was really impressed by the player aids in our inventory . . . awesome.

Welcome to Vives. As a player and not a DM I wholly concur.
