| 4. | Re: Shoutouts Posted by Yasmyn on 11/18/2004 6:42:52 PM Thain is probably shutting down, aye.. whether that is definite or not is not yet, er, definite.
So an advance shoutout to Xerah for some great RP to come on Vives. :) |
| 5. | Re: Your Funniest RP Experience? Posted by Yasmyn on 2/7/2005 1:07:30 PM I still think that the last PnP session we had was rather amusing..
kalniel decided to play a gnomish paladin who had a set of full plate. Only he never actually got to put it on because putting it on took too long. So in the end, the day was saved by a gnome in underpants. ;) |
| 6. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by Yasmyn on 7/26/2005 9:20:23 AM
Perhaps we should ask the players too - lol!!
Sol
Crazy suggestion!
I think a Vives 101 sounds like a great idea and I'd love to go on one as a player anyways! I want to play Vives again.. have 0 time from work and commuting right now though . I'm ... |
| 7. | Re: DMs : Vives 101 Posted by Yasmyn on 7/27/2005 9:33:19 AM I'd love to run some low-level events now I've finally got my haks working . |
| 8. | Re: DMs: A little ramble Posted by Yasmyn on 2/14/2006 11:04:38 AM And one thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is neutral .
If you make things too much about Good vs Evil, then you miss out on all the great stuff that Neutrals can be doing and are doing.
I do think that balance is good. I don't think that it should always be "the DMs vs the players" or "the world vs the PCs". Sometimes it's very encouraging, as a player, to have an ... |
| 9. | Re: v2-68-3 changes Posted by Yasmyn on 6/15/2005 10:27:07 AM magical circle against alignment: that is a nwn engine implementation bug and there is nothing that I can do to fix it.
Shame, as that spell would have been one of the most widely used IG.
- Paul
Actually, I have a feeling they fixed it in the last patch..? Certainly seems to work on other PWs, though I haven't seen it used on Vives.
In any case, even if not fixed, it stays active if you walk, it just couldn't keep up ... |
| 10. | Re: Vives Spell Changes (was v2-59-9a changes) Posted by Yasmyn on 11/9/2005 7:14:08 AM Currently, if you move *slowly* they will continue to work, usually.
*nods* If you walk, they work - though I did think Bioware fixed this in a patch. Maybe they borked it again. |
| 11. | Re: SR test Posted by Yasmyn on 11/21/2006 6:24:56 PM The minimum CPU speed, and recommended CPU speed for NWN2 is 2 and 3 GHz respectively... but it seems that half of the CPU's out there these days are named with some number that hasn't a #@$% thing to do with it's clock speed. And looking at Intel's website doesn't help a bit either... they have that Core2 Duo, and talk about benchmark tests against their old P4 with HT, the Core2 performs almost twice as ...well, I'd say fast, but since this is not based on ... |
| 12. | Re: SR test Posted by Yasmyn on 11/22/2006 9:28:08 AM Agreed Ara and hello . But the toolset does use dual core processing power I'm pretty sure, so if you want to build in NWN2 a dual core will help. And yes I like to run stuff in the background :D . |
| 13. | Re: SR test Posted by Yasmyn on 11/25/2006 6:21:37 AM *Waits for PDW to weigh in on the Intel dual core versus AMD dual core argument.*
Have a look here, as I linked to above:
http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=6184
Pretty comprehensively demonstrates that the slowest Core2Duo is in most cases as fast and in some cases faster than the most expensive AMD dual core.
And that's even a British site |
| 14. | Re: SR test Posted by Yasmyn on 11/26/2006 4:38:30 PM *shrugs* My personal experience is that comparably priced Intel & AMD dual cores are not comparable in terms of power. My OH has an X2 3800+, I have a Core2Duo E6300. Both pretty comparably priced (the former is currently about £20 cheaper). The Intel chip does things a *lot* faster than the former in everything we have tested (with exactly the same graphics card and same amount of RAM).
So I'm not just talking about benchmarks here![]() |
| 15. | Re: Laptops? Posted by Yasmyn on 12/7/2006 3:25:17 PM 2.0 Ghz I'm not too sure about to be honest They say a minimum of 2.4? But I would have thought it would run OK..... don't hold me to that though :P
It's all relative....I run it on technically a 1.86Ghz speed CPU, but it's a very efficient CPU so while it's technically slower, it does more in that time than a 2.8Ghz Pentium 4.
So depends on what your CPU ... |
| 16. | Re: Half finshed quests Posted by Yasmyn on 2/28/2005 1:56:08 PM Are there any plans to finish off the part-made quests, or is that already on 'the list'?
Things like the missing mayor of Buckshire (to complete deidre pink's quest);
I'm pretty sure this one is not complete yet.. I can't comment on the other ones though I'm afraid . |
| 17. | Re: The beta patch 1.03 is out, if you're into that sort of thing Posted by Yasmyn on 11/27/2006 3:48:37 AM My point being, this patch has some MAJOR problems and I've only looked at a small part of it so far.
Most unfortunate :(
But not especially surprising, since it's a Beta after all .
I'm going to wait for the proper patch myself, as the game runs fine for me as it is, though I have heard that the beta optimises a ... |

Also thanks to everyone for all the fun RP last night :D really enjoyed it.

Probably most of you don't know me, but I will be in game more over the next few weeks so hopefully those of you who don't know me, will soon . |
