What a nasty little girl.
Barnas? Is there any chance that Hatti is not dead? Perhaps Hatti has a sister?
I liked the flower child version of Ilyana better (while it lasted).

Re: Ilyana Fiirhaart - another new beginning Posted: 18 Oct 2004 05:28 PM |
The night was black around the Fiirhallen volcano. The only light in the area was emanating from the volcano itself. The giants who usually stupidly pervaded the area had retreated into the surrounding caves.
The volcano trembled, black smoke gushed out into the darkness .....
A tortured scream pierced the air .....
More smoke spewed forth, followed by a gout of lava .....
The scream continued, turning into a howl of absolute terror .......
Ilyana lay flat on the ground within the entrance to the volcano, oblivious to the lava and smoke gushing past her. He armour already cast to one side, she lay naked on the stone. She tore at the ground before her with her talons and bit into the solid rock with her sharp teeth in a failing effort to numb the pain.
The fire giants, mephits and other temple creatures were all deep in the temple, afraid to see what afflicted their mistress.
The whole mountain shook as another scream passed her lips. The sound reaching nearly to Midor, the earth tremors felt by all in the city. Ilyana tried to stand, and fell flat immediately. Her face distorted from a flushed beautiful coutenance to one covered in jagged red scales. She let out another cry of anguish.
"Naruth I will bear this pain, I must bear this pain" she whispered barely audibly.
The screaming continued into the night. Ilyana's body was now completely dry despite the rivers of sweat that had coursed from her in her agony. She was not able to move from where she lay, concentrating only on the change within her.
Then suddenly there was quiet. The volcano finally stilled, the dust settled and the lava flow halted and became solid.
Ilyana lay still not daring to hope that it was over, when one last immense searing pain hit her sharply in the back. Her scaley skin tearing apart, blood gushing from the fresh wound. Out from the wound, growing unnaturally fast, was a pair of wings akin to those that had adorned her ancestors.
After this final pain her body was numb, she stood slowly despite her weakness. Very carefully she stood naked and tall, gingerly unfurling her new wings. The wings dried quickly in the heat of the volcano.
Ilyana stood proud, smiling defiantly to herself. The metamorphosis had exerted a toll on the high priestess of Naruth, and awoken a powerful hunger within her. It was time for her to feast... |

((I thought some people may be interested in the goings on within the temple of Naruth. As usual, you do not know even an inkling of this IC unless you have been told by one of the characters involved. Ilyana is very careful who she shows her true nature to))
*Ilyana steps outside of the temple to find Malakhi there fighting the mountain giants* Ilyana Fiirhaart: ah I thought I heard someone Mälakhi Aquistine: *whips blade down, flicking blood to ground* Ilyana Fiirhaart: come inside *smiles* *They step into the volcano* Mälakhi Aquistine: My apologies, Mistress. I was attacked. Ilyana Fiirhaart: much better in here than out there Mälakhi Aquistine: *looks around, stricken* Ilyana Fiirhaart: who attacked? the giants? Mälakhi Aquistine: It... is beautiful. Ilyana Fiirhaart: *smiles enchantingly* why thank you Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods* Yes, the giants. Ilyana Fiirhaart: I am Ilyana Fiirhaart, High Priestess here .... you are? *looks enquiringly* Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles weakly* My name is Malakhi Aqistine... I had left word here some time ago. Ilyana Fiirhaart: ah yes, I did get your note Mälakhi Aquistine: *hesitates* Regarding my nightmares. Ilyana Fiirhaart: well there is no need to reply now *smiles brightly* Ilyana Fiirhaart: so ... tell me of your dreams Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles weakly* Ilyana Fiirhaart: *smiles reassuringly at him* Mälakhi Aquistine: Thank you, Mistress. Mälakhi Aquistine: I have been unable to sleep for some time.... Mälakhi Aquistine: Everynight now... it is the same thing. Ilyana Fiirhaart: tell me in detail ,,, *her eyes sparkling seeming to relish this though her face remains smiling and reassuring* Mälakhi Aquistine: It starts with burning... all of my posessions... my friends... parents, all of it burned. Mälakhi Aquistine: Then I see myself in the center. Ilyana Fiirhaart: ah I see Mälakhi Aquistine: My blood starts to boil... Ilyana Fiirhaart: ~listens intently~ Mälakhi Aquistine: Then... I -am- the fire... I suppose. *hesitates embarassed* Ilyana Fiirhaart: go on ...... Mälakhi Aquistine: It is -me- burning everything. Mälakhi Aquistine: And that's where it ends. Mälakhi Aquistine: Same thing, every night. Ilyana Fiirhaart: *nods looking at him intently* Mälakhi Aquistine: I was hoping that yourself or your clergy would have insight into it. Mälakhi Aquistine: *frowns slightly* Ilyana Fiirhaart: and you feel upset by these dreams do you? Mälakhi Aquistine: Well... not entirely. Mälakhi Aquistine: I am upset that I cannot sleep... but there is a feeling of power in the ending... Ilyana Fiirhaart: how do they make you feel, truly? *looks at him questioningly* Mälakhi Aquistine: *pauses* Powerful. Ilyana Fiirhaart: and you like the feeling of power? Mälakhi Aquistine: Yes... there is something intensely tempting about it. Ilyana Fiirhaart: *grins at him* Mälakhi Aquistine: To... be the fire, is very satisfying at a primal level. Ilyana Fiirhaart: *sniffs him a moment* Ilyana Fiirhaart: it is in your blood Mälakhi Aquistine: To lust for power? Ilyana Fiirhaart: *laughs* to lust for power and for fire Ilyana Fiirhaart: these dreams are the sign that it awakens in you Ilyana Fiirhaart: let me try something *looks thoughtful briefly* Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods slowly* Ilyana Fiirhaart: *searches in her pocket a moment* Ilyana Fiirhaart: *pulls out a perfectly preserved heart still covered in fresh blood* Ilyana Fiirhaart: *hands ot to him watching carefully* Mälakhi Aquistine: *raises eyebrows* Ilyana Fiirhaart: *watches his reaction carefully* Mälakhi Aquistine: *looks to heart, then to her* Mälakhi Aquistine: What am I to do with this? Ilyana Fiirhaart: eat it Ilyana Fiirhaart: smell it first Ilyana Fiirhaart: does it make you hunger for it? Mälakhi Aquistine: *hesitates, then sniffs deeply* Mälakhi Aquistine: *eats heart in one bite* Mälakhi Aquistine: *swallows with some difficulty* Ilyana Fiirhaart: *watches his reaction* how does it make you feel? Mälakhi Aquistine: *closes eyes* Mälakhi Aquistine: It makes me feel... Ilyana Fiirhaart: *tilts her head while watching him* Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles* ...makes me feel like I am the fire. Ilyana Fiirhaart: *grins happily* Ilyana Fiirhaart: they will make you stronger Mälakhi Aquistine: *inhales deeply* Ilyana Fiirhaart: feed the fire inside Mälakhi Aquistine: *opens eyes* Ilyana Fiirhaart: that is how I grew strong Mälakhi Aquistine: What is this blood that you speak of? Ilyana Fiirhaart: *flaps her wings* Mälakhi Aquistine: *blinks* Ilyana Fiirhaart: *smiles showing pointy teeth* Ilyana Fiirhaart: dragon's blood Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles* Dragons? Mälakhi Aquistine: My... father then? Ilyana Fiirhaart: no ... many generations ago Ilyana Fiirhaart: the blood has been dormant Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods slowly* Mälakhi Aquistine: Why is it awakening now? Ilyana Fiirhaart: *shrugs slightly* Naruth wills it so Ilyana Fiirhaart: I do not question Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods* Mälakhi Aquistine: So... Naruth holds sway over the blood? Ilyana Fiirhaart: *thinks a moment* she certainly holds a power over it, perhaps Brimscale himself the rest Mälakhi Aquistine: Brimscale. He is the one? Ilyana Fiirhaart: Brimscale is perhaps one of our ancestors, not the only one Ilyana Fiirhaart: there are many of us it seems Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods slowly* Ilyana Fiirhaart: some who embrace our heritage and others who are too weak and die Ilyana Fiirhaart: I myself did not know of my heritage before I came here Ilyana Fiirhaart: I trained first as a cleric of Naruth, called only by the fire and fury within Ilyana Fiirhaart: only later did my blood show Mälakhi Aquistine: Will I sprout wings as well? Ilyana Fiirhaart: *laughs lightly* in time yes Ilyana Fiirhaart: if you follow the path and let your nature show in strength Ilyana Fiirhaart: eat may hearts if your enemies Mälakhi Aquistine: ... what is the path? Ilyana Fiirhaart: *sighs* *several of fire mephits and quasits respawn in and attack* Ilyana Fiirhaart: foolish creatures Ilyana Fiirhaart: they are attracted be the lave, stupid pests Mälakhi Aquistine: Ahh... *nods* Ilyana Fiirhaart: no matter how many times they are culled, more always return Mälakhi Aquistine: *whips blade down, flicking blood to ground* Ilyana Fiirhaart: the path is one of fire and fury Ilyana Fiirhaart: keeping both in balance at all times Ilyana Fiirhaart: control then and do not let them consume you Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods intently* Ilyana Fiirhaart: eat the hearts of your enemies to fill yourself with a little of their power each time Ilyana Fiirhaart: and you will grow stronger Mälakhi Aquistine: *whips blade down, flicking blood to ground* Ilyana Fiirhaart: do you think you are ready for this? Mälakhi Aquistine: And... I should make devotions to Naruth? Ilyana Fiirhaart: Naruth does not like pandering and weak followers, she expects respect Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods slowly* Ilyana Fiirhaart: of course I expect that you should follow her in all ways *laughs lightly* Ilyana Fiirhaart: but you wouldn't expect me to say anything else Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles* Mälakhi Aquistine: And yes... I am ready. Ilyana Fiirhaart: if you wish me as a friend and ally, then you will follow Naruth and watch against her enemies Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods* Ilyana Fiirhaart: and report back anything you see that may be of use to me Mälakhi Aquistine: I shall... I am indebted to you already. Ilyana Fiirhaart: I would also expect that you offer no help to our enemies, those who follow Helkris and Vilyave *spits out the names* Ilyana Fiirhaart: yet watch them and learn about them Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods* I shall. Ilyana Fiirhaart: perhaps even it is worth helping them on occasion, if it benefits us in the long run Ilyana Fiirhaart: keep your friends close and your enemies closer *laughs lightly* Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles* Ilyana Fiirhaart: what is your favoured weapon Malakhi? Mälakhi Aquistine: I am skilled with the greatsword. Mälakhi Aquistine: *steps back and unsheathes blade* Ilyana Fiirhaart: *nods* I shall speak with the Fire Giant smiths and see if they have anything in their armoury that would suit you Ilyana Fiirhaart: *nods once* Mälakhi Aquistine: That is most gracious. Ilyana Fiirhaart: what armour do you favour? Mälakhi Aquistine: Full platemail. Ilyana Fiirhaart: *nods* follow me Ilyana Fiirhaart: here *hands him a set of Fiirhallen plate armour* Ilyana Fiirhaart: there *smiles* Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles* Thank you, Priestess. Ilyana Fiirhaart: a pleasure Ilyana Fiirhaart: another thing .... Ilyana Fiirhaart: spread the word where you can Ilyana Fiirhaart: allies are always useful Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods* Ilyana Fiirhaart: I will help any that I can where the cost is small and the gain is great *smiles enchantingly* Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles broadly* Mälakhi Aquistine: Of course. Ilyana Fiirhaart: and if you do make any assaults on our enemies .... Ilyana Fiirhaart: try to be reasonably covert Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles* Ilyana Fiirhaart: I do not want this place being attacked by frost giants and the like because of foolishness Ilyana Fiirhaart: *smiles warmly* Mälakhi Aquistine: I understand. Ilyana Fiirhaart: do you feel more certain in your path now Malakhi? Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods* I do feel certain. Mälakhi Aquistine: The way seems clear. Ilyana Fiirhaart: I am glad to hear that Ilyana Fiirhaart: is there any other help or advice you need? Ilyana Fiirhaart: *waves her hand over him briefly and fire seals the wounds with a soothing warmth* Mälakhi Aquistine: *shakes head* None that I can think of at the moment. Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles* Ilyana Fiirhaart: leave a message here for me if you need to speak to me again Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods* Is there anything that you would ask of me? Ilyana Fiirhaart: only what I have asked already, gather me information of my enemies Ilyana Fiirhaart: if you wish ..... Ilyana Fiirhaart: seek out one called Dante Mälakhi Aquistine: *raises eyebrows* Ilyana Fiirhaart: he also has the blood, but seems not to realise it fully as yet Ilyana Fiirhaart: help him learn as you do Mälakhi Aquistine: *nods* I shall do so. Mälakhi Aquistine: Would you have me travel with him? Ilyana Fiirhaart: Juylina is one who will also aid you in times of need Ilyana Fiirhaart: if you wish, yes, though I do not insist that you travel with him *laughs lightly* Mälakhi Aquistine: *smiles slightly, nods once* Ilyana Fiirhaart: I will be watching you Malakhi Ilyana Fiirhaart: when you have proved yourself, I will have other tasks for you Mälakhi Aquistine: I shan't dissapoint you. Ilyana Fiirhaart: I know you won't *smiles at him enchantingly* Ilyana Fiirhaart: farewell Malakhi *strides off into the temple purposefully* Mälakhi Aquistine: Farewell, Priestess. |

It is a travesty.
Like going to a Star Wars movie, and not seeing lightsabres. Or Jedi. Or the force. Or spaceships. Or cliched, badly acted plotlines. Or annoying aliens. Or people talking for too long about irrelevant and seemingly moot points.
On that note...
