Vives 2 coming soon

Hey guys, I sent out a message on the Darker Days forum, but wanted to post here too, just in case. Vives 2 is going to be going public sometime later this month. They are hoping to get some open playtesting going so they can get exposure/bug squashing started. Hope you can all attend, and there will be more info to follow. I would like it to be live ASAP, but every time I feel we are close I find more that I need to work on. Its coming, but needs more time.

Working on a Worker's Lodge in the starting hamlet at the moment. Here's some descriptions I wrote for it tonight:
Dahkessa - Fleet's Landing - Lodge Upstairs
Day: "The crackle of the fire warms the upper floor of the drafty, old lodge. Along with the scent of smoke, wood and tobacco, you can smell the remains of work, earth on the gardener's shoes, mineral oil, fish, sawdust, pitch, and sweaty leather."
Night: "The heat of the smoldering fire radiates throughout the room, and reflects back upon you from the exposed floorboards and rafters. The lodge creaks in repose after a long day. In the distance you can hear the sea, and through the walls you can feel the night drifting down from the sky to clothe the surrounding trees with a dark presence."
It will be interesting to see what the final description is when we go live as I have a tendency to revise this stuff as new ideas arise. |

We are getting close to opening up the server to testing by players - as opposed to testing by team members. If you are interested in doing so get in touch with us, and we'll let you in for testing.
We are weeks away from Beta Testing (player testing) because the last technical hurdle has been crossed, and now its just a matter of putting enough content in so that we get useful test results from you.

This has been a much longer process than I anticipated, and in some respects I could take another year to get everything just right.
So I am thinking we should just open the server up even if it is not fully baked and consider it good for "casual" RP. Keep watch on our development blog ( http://vives2.dyndns.org/ ) for announcements, jump in IRC, or look here for the news on that happening. June is our deadline for this. Even if I feel it is not even ready for casual we will go live as a beta regardless before June is over. We could however go live earlier, and I am trying to. End of June is the do or die date as July last year is when we talked about doing this, and I don't want to keep this private when our anniversary date rolls around.
When we go live officially we'll blast you all with an e-mail, but before that day comes I'd like to just get something live for casual RP even if it still feels like it will still take a bit longer to really do the module the "right" way. |

June 28th 6am PST we will be open up for Alpha Testing for anyone interested. The world should be live from that day forward, but in various states of completion. It will be rough for the first month, but begin to take on serious shape in time.
