It is with great honor I announce the appointing of two highly qualified magicians to the council of The Magistry. Draconis Flametongue, and Thorn Hallblund - bothrunnerups for the position of Lord Magister, have been appointed to the council. I spent many hours reviewing their qualifications. Draconis is a master in the art of evocation, and his knowledge is top notch. Thorn, can conjure a bucket of water in the middle of a desert, and thus he has been named to the Council of Conjuration. May these gentleman help make us wise, strong, and more insightful to the world around us. I congratulate them both.
This document shall serve as legal, and binding. On this day, and on this time. Thorn Hallblund, member, and Draconis Flametongue, member, have been appointed to The Magistry's council. Thorn Hallblund shall serve as the Councilman of Conjuration until death, or removal. Draconis Flametongue shall serve as the Councilman of Evocation until death, or removal. This shall go into effect immediatley following the signature of the Lord Magister

Be it known, The "Turnip Lord" has been placed on the Wanted list. The case number assigned is TL#230. It is of your utmost duty to apprehend this creature. If captured, a task force will be assigned to study the creature. As of now this shall be considered of a mediocre nature. Meaning, that you should not be stopping your current duties to find this creature - but should devote time to it atleast once every other day.

The Magistry Announces its newest invention for its members.
Arcana Magica Spindel Threat Finder Version III , or "Arca III",for Short.
With the help of many of our members, I was able to give you this rough design of what will hopefully improve in the future. This device, is designed to help locate nearby (within 2 miles) usages of magic. This also helps with the detection of certain items that give off natural magical auras.
If your Arca III detects a large dispersion of magic, you should investigate immediatley to find out the cause of it. It should be noted there are some minor flaws with our initial release, too little magic will not be picked up, and too much will cause the device to work innacuratley - but be assured, myself and many other scholars are working on this as we speak.
The device works similiar to a compass, with a needle in the middle. The needle floats atop a malachite gem , of an extremely carefully calculated size, weight, cut, and quality. When magic is used, the gem gives off natural vibrations - which will point the needle in the direction of the magic used. Depending on the amount of magic used, the needle can radiate in that direction for up to 15 minutes.
The Arca III is standard issue, and ALL members - MUST be sure to pick theirs up from their local Fist.
If at any time your gem is damaged, your Arca III shall be considered faulty (even if it appears to be working correctly) , and you must exchange it as soon as you can.
A special thank you to the multiple mages that have worked with me on the release of this project.
Please document and take note of any large magical auras, or occurences and turn them into your local Scholars.
Thank You, Lord Magister Solus |

*The Following is to be made Public information to all citizens of Vives The Magistry is proud to make three new astounding announcements, for all those who seek order in this troubled world.
First - The Magistry will be removing its "Permission of Circle by Rank", or rather - you no longer need to be certified for every rank of Magic, outside of Membership.Only members of The Magistry will now be required to be certified to use certain circles of magic, all other registered magic users simply need to be registered - thus allowing us to make it tremendously easier for all ofyou!
Second - The Magistry is proud to recognize a new council position, of Technocraticism. Or the Magical Art of being able to control and build clockwork/steambuilt machines. Upon approval of this position, the Technocraticism Councilor will be using his powers to help create unique sets of clockwork creatures to help with the running of our organization. This is no simple task, and the construction of each creature takes great difficulty , patience, time, and resources. The Ruling Council and the Lord Magister at this time took great thought to recognize this as a school of magic - rather than a tradeskill, and even more so - we did not believe it existed until we saw it in practice (By whose name will go unmentionned).
Three - The Magistry welcomes a new rank into its fold, the rank of "Nullifier". The rank of Nullifier signifies Mages who are specialized in the art of Counter-spelling. Who's sole duty it is to make void, and 'nullify' magic entities/spellcasters,and with great dispelling/banishing abilities, they shall be considered completely defensive spellcasters of the sort. Nullifiers shall serve under the command of the Fists, and shall have attained the rank of no less than Bronze Magus to be qualified for this promotion. At this time, we are seeking any qualified men/women who would like to enter the ranks of the Nullifiers write a letter of intent to your local Iron Magus.
As always, The Magistry seeks new membership! Council positions are open at this time, be apart of Change.
Let your thoughts be the inquisitor to all your actions! ~Lord Magister Solus |

*The Following is to be Made Public Information *
15cy Slitherax,7019*
In a continuing effort to eradicate threats to the magical community, and in our search to prevent dangerous magi and their creations from destroying the order of our world - The Magistry will take no hesitations in finding, capturing and or destroying this so called "Death Drinker" sword.
A dedicated team of Nullifiers, Headed by one of our Top Iron Magus, and with the battle tactics provided to them by a team of Scholars - that will be dispatched in the coming month to deal with this issue, we will eliminate this threat. All other adventurers need not attempt to deal with the sword, and we will not be held responsible for the death of any novice magicians, or adventurers who seem to feel otherwise. We would like to assure the public our crack team, is highly trained, highly educated, and advanced in the arts of magic - if this sword be just a rumor, than we will crush that as well.I , The Lord Magister, will also be personally overseeing the management of this task.
The Magistry aims to help you sleep a little better at night, and assures you of its dedication to aide all people of Vives, be them magical or not.
We Thank you for your Continuing Support, Lord Magister Solus |

* To be made public information*
23cy Slitherax,17019*
Upon recent capture of the "Death Drinker" sword, The Magistry will not be rescinding its designated task force. Most information points that the sword has not been restored to a stable owner, claiming even that the sword has been brought under the control of a Vampire.
Such Chaos will not go tolerated, and The Magistry will not allow such a magical artifact to be in any others hands that will mis-use the item.
At this time, the task force has been deployed has begun its search in the designated areas of the last-sightings of the sword. If you have any information, it would be highly appreciated that you assist any local Magistry officials with the acquisition of this artifact.
If the sword should strike violently again, it would be assumed that the so called owner will also be placed onto The Magistry's wanted list as the mastermind behind the swords attacks.
Reward offers still stand for those who provide information ,or aid in the capture of the artifact.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Arca IV has completed its field testing, release details will follow soon - and locations in which to pick yours up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Lord Magister is a most busy gnome, it is becoming harder and harder to speak to him directly - but he would like to assure all members of The Magistry that he does his best to respond to all letters, and inquiries, and meet all of his appointments. ((ooc: I try to play on Tues/Weds , since those are my days off from work)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A reminder that insubordination will not be tolerated. You are to give the highest respect to your officers and higher ranking superiors. If you are having a problem with your superior, please talk to an equal ranking superior - before going up to the next rank. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Magistry will be preparing an auction to hold in Buckshire trading post, at this time - we ask that all members gather an assortment of items to sell off. All proceeds The Magistry makes from the auction shall go towards the direct construction of our building projects. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Re: The Magistry - Official Thread Posted: 16 Mar 2007 01:47 AM |
And finally, after some rather long discussions with a few magisters who'd been around, she was provided with official pronouncements and some unofficial histories of the ill-fated organization.
What was acknowledged:
1. Solus/Romulus was a necromancer and was himself part undead. At one time he claimed dominion or abode-ship in Gorlath Keep.
2. His lieutenant was Talion Deraith.
A few further observations:
1. Talion Deraith's main supporter is Alyssa Elliot, Priestess of Naruth. His main selling feature, according to her, would be his ability to bring Jessup into a war against the Atalan, and would be more likely than Sir Markus to negotiate with Midor.
2. Something darker lurks in the background in Talion's history. Something tied to a half-elven ranger named Kalannar. Emma decided she would try to find him, though she doubted there was enough time.
Finally, though, it had been two days since Emma had seen Sir Markus. She was beginning to feel like he was avoiding her. Maybe, as some had suggested, he didn't want the mantle of leadership. So give it to a beast like Talion? She shuddered, shook her head, and re-read magister Salt's letter. Perhaps it was best to simply call off the meeting and go back to organizing things through the Novus Aristi. It would beat the alternative of having Talion speak for the adventurers of Vives. |
