Anyone looking to investigate the problems "bubbling" away beneath Port, please send a PM to either myself or Fictrix / Starry Ice to arrange times. This weekend I am free to DM stuff most of Sunday UK times, PM me to arrange,

Cheers,

Sirac

Chapter 2 of this tale will be run sometime in the next 24 - 48 hrs. If interested in attending please send a PM to Fictrix. She will post here when she knows what time she is going to run it. Thanks to all the players, hope you enjoyed, I certainly did.

The following is IC information regarding recent occurences in Port.

*The entrance to the sewers beneath Port has been closed and sealed with the strongest of wardings. That is the entrance in the lower section of Port, -and- through the sanitation area.

The stench, especially in the lower part of the city, is far worse than it ever has been before. There often wafts up from below the streets of Port a horrid chanting, and the sounds of large, wet masses of filth shambling around, in untold numbers.

Every now and then the wards flicker and dance, as though being attacked from below, but they hold, for now...*

Since I won't be able to make it tonight, if anyone needs to go into the sewers, consider that Xaranthir will be around to let people through the wards. Not that it truly prevents anyone from entering, but they would be destroyed if one just goes in. ;)

Now, if the ones down the sewers were smart they'd set up wards of their own of course and some glyphs and explosing runes and...Tongue out.

*A fierce storm is reported to have hit most of northern and central Vives today, blanketing an area extending from Fiirkrag to Buckshire, over the Buckshire Marshes and Tanglewood, the northern half of the Kobai, and the jungle and rainforest along Vives' east coast*

*No one knows where the storm came from, only that it was quite sudden and fierce, and blotted out all sunlight*

*There are fears that the storm may cause a flood if it continues*

*the wardings sealing entry to the sewers in Port are beginning to change colour. One moment the four wardings are vibrant, each ward's coloration representing one of the four elements. Then they flicker and momentarily one or more change colour to a sickly green, and the stench from below grows stronger. Currently this only lasts a few seconds before returning to their normal hue, but over the next couple of days the putrid green tinge to the wardings lasts longer and longer...*

OOC:

The finale to this story will run this Friday night, at 20.00pm UK time. All levels are welcome. The following is all crucial information for the event. Firstly, ALL levels are welcome and will have a part to play. There will be two DMs, and two simultaneous events running, one aimed at slightly lower levels and one at higher to epic levels, although quite possibly starting and finishing the quest together. This will be sorted out IC on the night, and will be down to the players discretion and organisation which group they join.

On both events the following rules apply:

When in the actual sewers, there will be a lot of things being described. Please listen carefully to those descriptions. There will be battles raging all about you that will not be actually represented IG due to lag reasons. So just keep in mind for every creature you as PCs have to face, there are a lot more that are being fought by your "allies".

A principal part of the mission will be "cleansing" the sewers. The IC aspect of this will be explained on the night. But there is an ooc mechanic to be aware of. You cannot move at a pace faster than a slow walk when moving onwards in the sewers. This is to represent the thick sludge and putrescence that you have to force your way through. No spell or ability will allow faster progress than this. However, if you seek to retreat back through areas already "cleansed" you will be able to run. It is only forward progress that is so slow.

So to be clear, we want to see very slow, difficult movement RPd at all times, when in the sewers.

See you on Friday night,

Ficcy and SiracSmiley!

Xaranthir looked in astonishment as the wards he had raised with the help from his Ka'azim colleagues became defiled. Obviously something or someone was corrupting the elemental bindings and it became clearer by the hour that they wouldn't last a whole lot longer.

"Whatever your name is," he said, well remembering the image of the lich in his crystal ball, "I will not let you break the seals I have put up with my life's blood and roam free."

His cheek muscles bulging as he grinded his teeth, he kept vigil over the wards of the lower Port entrance. Every time a sigil turned to that sickly green colour, his eyes flashed with a brief inner light, as though they had a heartbeat of their own.

OOC: I'll be there, if you'll have me.WinkI want to help finish this! ^_^

moving along in remodeling of the master bathroom. hooray *unenthusiastic*

Anyway... got a freind helping out with the labor (and the know-how) and of course the time he has free to do so will fall on the exact time of any events in Vives for the next couple of weeks. :/

so... have fun storming the cast.. erm.. the sewer!

*goes off to wrangle a toilet into place while everyone else is roaming the sewers*

*Port Royale is gradually returning to its normal level of filthiness again*

*The wards on the sewers are gone*

*In apparently unrelated news, a group of about a dozen smelly adventurers emerged from the sewers today totally covered in excrement and muck*

~~By nightfall the stench of the Port was starting to lessen thankfully. It was midnight and things finally were starting to get back to normal. It had been a rather stressful month. Yes business as usual.....

"I thoughts Mista Jessup said ta dump thes 'ere bodies in da caverns Ollie? the tall figure mumbled in the dark.

"He did Stan, he did. But Candy said she wanted ta see me tonight and she has a friend for ya ta boot! Now we can either haul these two stiffs to tha caverns like Mista Jessup said, which Stan will let two other blokes get a chance at our ladies! Or we can just take em inta the sewers like we always done and be in the Broken Mask buying them ladies a drink or two!"

"Well I cant's argua with tha I guess Ollie. But I hopes Mista Jessup dont finds out. Ya know hell be plenty sore at us ifn he does."

"Well we aint gonna tell him are we Stan?

"I dont think so Ollie."

"Thas a good lad. Now les just dump em here in this drainage pipe an get cleaned up!"

~~ The sound of the bodies sliding down the pipe followed by a loud splash could barely be heard.~~

"Well Stan. Thay my friend is that! Now lets have us some fun eh?"

"Sure thing Ollie, sure thi.......Oi!! Did ya hear tha?"

"Hear what Stan? I dont hear nothing."

"Ha guess it was tha wax in me ears Ollie, I thoughts I heard chanting or singing of some sort coming up from tha pipe! Haha! Thas funny!"

"Ya really funny...now gets a move on Stan!" Ale and wenches is waiting for us!!"

~The End... or is it? Dun dun DUNNNNN!~

((My apologies for the crash... Something came up right in the middle of the reset, and I felt far from 'fine' after so I didn't log back in.))

*news also is spread around that one adventurer, a small Halfling, is still in the Seven Sisters, having almost drowned in the muck and only alive due to the heroism of the others who had someone carry him out of the sewers*
