| I am new here and wonder if there`s any way to learn other racial languages on vives or is it only possible if you get those racial language widgets from a dm? |

As far as I have understood you will need to RP it out with someone who knows the desired language and in the end be granted the language by a DM. As in RP you are learning and the other is teaching.

| Yes extra languages are DM granted, and players need to be seen RPing learning the language properly IG. |

| oh...i've been meaning to address this for a while. one of my characters, Gnimini, was raised by dwarves. he supposedly knew a little gnomish at the time...but could quite possibly have forgotten it during his raising. i was wondering if i could get a dwarven language widget or make my default dwarven or something. I didn't know if i should just PM the DMs or what. |

Hi yes, please send a PM to "All DMs" from the site, with the background and we will consider the request.
Please note that extra languages for a new character are very rarely granted, because there is sometimes a way to create that character with the required language to start with. (for example) create the character as a dwarf with a thin-set body type, but just tell everyone you are a gnome. (Not applicable in this case though).
Having the ability to speak more than one racial language can be a great benefit IG and even if a character RPs not knowing one language, they still have an OOC advantage. |

Re: racial language question Posted: 20 Dec 2005 04:28 AM |
| Can familiars be granted new languages too? My Elf charater has a fairy that I like to possess and RP with sometimes. In theroy, the fairy should understand Elven(possessed or not RP wise). But that is not the case when I possess her. Can something be done about this? |

At the moment familiars cannot be given languages. I am not sure if this is on the radar for the scripters, but it is likely to be a very low priority, because it can be RPed around. |

| Basicly all languages can be rped around if needs be, the tools just make it faster and easier. |
Nightmare this may be, but it's not a dream. |
