Well, obviously despite the lag (and some computer problems), I gotta say that getting repeatedly pummelled and dead has never been so much fun. Wish I should have been there throughout, but it was a great time none-the-less.

Lots of fun tonite. We'll have to do it again some time, only perhaps without the death (Why do you always manage to get my characters killed Chief?) Also, kudos to Grim for the DM'ing. Trolls playing the tamborine was hilarious. |

Oh yeah, I forgot to thank Fictrix and Elk for helping me through some computer problems during the event, and for Grim always being there like a guardian angel to get us back to the front line just in time to die! |

I just wanted to say NEVER trust anyone to go exploring with that buys their maps from Bald Rick. :)
Also I had a great deal of fun and I must say it was very hard to stay IC when attacking the leprechauns but somehow I pulled it off.
I wanted to say so bad out loud after my wolf Agard killed one of them that they were magically delicious. |

A3(+1): The Land of Smiteliness Posted: 08 Jan 2006 06:32 AM |
"It's terrible. Terrible, I say."
Melphus Benimen shook his head. Or rather, he shook all five of them. He'd fallen ill lately and sometimes his shapeshifting went horridly awry... more so than usual. At the moment, he was in the form of a five-headed drider with gargoyle wings, the huge form filling up the entire living area of Skarfell Lodge.
From somewhere under the table came the voice of Miramil Ashwyckle: "What's terrible, First? Do more people need to be taught manners? Are there naughty bad monsters in need of etiquette lessons? Did someone invent... a bad pose??"
"Heck forbid!" Melphus wheezed, breaking out into a fit of coughing. He nearly poked his eye out with his acid-tipped spear with his spasms.
"Heck forbid," he repeated, wheezing. "No, no, no... the terrible thing is... I fear I may not last much longer, Second..."
"No!"
"I have been smote by a sickness most foul," he croaked as he shifted into a harpy with the head of a frog. "And I have heard... that someone has already died of this sickness! Died, I say! It's a fate worse than suddendeathitis."
"But nothing is worse than suddendeathitis!" the young Gnome cried. "Well, except maybe being slashed to bits by a truly evil dagger and having your mind ripped to shreds, leaving you brain-dead until someone finds a cure," she amended thoughtfully. "I should know. It happened to me once and it was not fun."
"An astute observation," Melphus remarked. "Yes, very astute indeed. But alas, I fear that I am about to suffer a fate that is just as bad, or possibly worse—"
He did not finish the sentence, for he had broken out into another bout of violent coughing.
"FIRST!" Miramil exclaimed, suddenly jumping up.
Or rather, she tried to jump up: her head banged against the table she was sitting beneath. Pouting, she rubbed her head and sat back down again.
"Sekhunnd," Melphus coughed in response, whirling around to face the table and transforming into a headless basilisk. Miramil waited for the basilisk to sprout ears from its knees before continuing.
She struck a pose as she sat beneath the table, her head turned to the side, one finger pointing up.
"What if," she said in a low, intent voice, "we were to find... the source... the origin of All Smiting?"
The headless basilisk with ears sprouting from its knees bristled with shock. If Melphus had had eyes at that moment, they would have been as wide as a Halfling's in a pie store.
"What if," she went on, "we were to journey to The Land of Smiteliness? I have a theory... backed up by Gnomish logic, confirmed by Gnomish calculations... that All Smiting is distributed throughout the world through the water system... therefore the Origin of All Smiting, being the zero-zero coordinate, as it were—"
At this point she stopped, because Melphus was wobbling on his feet and threatening to fall asleep.
"Well, anyway. All Smiting must logically originate from The River Smitten," she concluded, dropping the pose.
The mutated basilisk morphed into a boar with eight legs and flapping butterfly wings where its tusks should have been.
"Then to The River Smitten we shall go!" Melphus declared in a wheezing, grunting squeal. "We will need a plus one... or perhaps two... yes, we might need a spare, for one of them might get smote..."
"Then it is agreed! Tomorrow, we journey to The River Smitten!" Miramil cried.
"ONWARRRRRRRRRRRRD—" wheezed the boar.
"—aaaaaannnnnnnnnnnd—" sang Miramil, whipping a tambourine out from behind her back.
"UPWARRRRRRRRRRRRD!!!" they both declared simultaneously.
Yes, indeed... tomorrow the threeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.... would ride again... |

A3(+1): The Search Posted: 12 Jan 2006 09:57 PM |
Word spreads... the THREEEEEEEE have banded together again... this time in the noble pursuit of a Dwarf, a Really Good Cheese, and the age-old search for the fabled Land of Smiteliness.
... In possibly unrelated news, a darkly-dressed Gnome or Halfling and a three-headed sneezing wyrmling were spotted chatting near the Buckshire Trading Post today.
