Who to inform? Posted: 08 Mar 2005 07:48 AM |
Well I've spent long enough in Vives and have a basic understanding of the world to put finger to keyboard and type out Bhrodi's character background. I started with a basic consept and my mind has developed the details as time progressed. My question at this point is who do I send some of the info to? For example there are things about Bhrodi that noone should know unless he tells them, and there are things about Bhrodi that even he doesn't know. My current plan is to type it up in two sections. One for the public containing IC and OOC info about Bhrodi and then a second for the DMs only that covers what goes on inside the heart and mind of the character and the things that even he does not know. There are also some blanks that I will leave open to be filled in by DMs for two reasons: 1) I don't like the idea of developing something that could contridict with the world, 2) Since Bhrodi doesn't know the details of his past wouldn't it be grand to have a DM fill some in some day in a RP / IG way that rocked my boat abit also? Imagine the possabilities there? Muhahahahha if I was a DM I could have loads of fun on that one!
Soooooo who should I send the "DM's eyes only vrs too" once it is completed? |

What you choose to publish or send to the DMs is totally up to you (and to every individual here).
If you are unsure about a story or background, then it is generaly best to send it to the DMs first so they can let you know if anything might cause problems and hopefully suggest alternative but similar directions.
It is also fine to post background to the "character background" forum and state that the knowledge is totally OOC unless people have been told it IG.

Do as others have done. Post the information it the character backgrounds forum and make note of which information is ooc and which information would be known by players.
It also helps the DM's get to know the characters better.

Alright then.. is there a list of all the DMs so I can PM them all a copy once it is finished or is the a drop box common to all DMs?
If there is no common drop box might I suggest a Forum that players can drop threads in but only DMs have read access. This way all DMs can see the issues that should not be common knowledge. |

When you send a PM, one of the top addressee options is "All DMs". Just choose that option and send it.
Dont worry that the PM doesnt appear in your outbox like it does with other PMs, we do still get the PM.
Cheers.
