The (short) writings of a Freddie Falcon. Posted: 15 Feb 2005 04:13 AM |
Dear Dad,
Wow! In one word wow! The city is even bigger as I could have imagined. The streets buzz with activity and people of all sorts walk the plaza's. I can't understand why Kusin is grumbling about it. Yea there are a lot of guards and knights out on the streets, but that sure gives me a safe feeling. Either way the city is great and there is still so much to see and discover of it.
I've also been "adventuring" a bit and allready made two new friends. Ladyfriends that is (wink!)!! There is Sola who showed me a special discount shop. It must have been very special because it was so wel guarded and hidden on a secret location! And the other ladyfriend is Melinne. A young girl who fights just as hard as a grown man. There is much more to tell about them but I will do that another time. O!, I also met a man from Ferein!! You know, the Elven City. So those stories are true! Hopefully I can go there some time.
But enough about me, how are you? Everything allright with the Watermill? And did you find a way to fix the bridge allready? How is Gris doing? I probably come around next week to pick him up, I guess he should be better than. Sometimes I feel guilt of leaving you there, alone with Gris, eventhough you told me to go...
I miss you dad.
Freddie.
Freddie Falcon slowly nods after rereading his letter. He pulls a blue string from his suit, rolls up the letter and ties it together with the string. He than stands up from his table and walks to the door. Before leaving he waves at the little Cara Adams, who looks so happy with her teddybear. Freddie smiles and steps outside into the buzzing streets. He than heads for Kusin who agreed to deliver the letters. Maybe he allready has a letter from the Watermill, from home, from Dad... |
Is it a Harpy? Is it a Dragon?! No it's Freddie Falcon!! |

It was good to see the Watermill again. Although I haven't been away that long, it was longer than ever before. Gris was allready standing on his favourite spot near the gate. The dog's eyes are not what they used to be anymore, but his smell and hearing are still as good as in his younger years. So I wasn't surprised he noticed me when I was still some hundred meters away from the Watermill. Gris barked two, three times and than came running towards me. A most pleasant welcome for the returned traveler that I now was.
It felt good to be back. Back at the place I've been spending all my life until some weeks ago. Where I helped my Dad in and around the Watermill. Where he raised me and I always was in good companionship of my dog Gris and Jesper, our cat.
My Dad sat at the kitchen table, alerted by Gris' alarm. He was anxious for my stories. I was happy I could tell him now, in person, what I had seen and visited. I'm doing what he never could; travel and see something of the world. The old Miller's eyes were shinig of enthousiasm and he asked and asked. I told him about Sola and Melinne about a stalker named Garrak and my encounter with mister Johe Jaxson. Ofcourse I needed to explain what a guyver was, but I did my best to tell him everything and not letting anything out...
Goodbye came much to soon. I merely came to pick up Gris, who had recovered from eating a little bit to much ratpoison. Jesper will be the sole mousehunter in the Watermill now and my Dad the sole Miller...
Until Gris and I return again... |
