Hmm... how to start?
I'm a newcomer to the vives and I'd like to generate some background to my character before starting out. For my RP fun and for others.
I'm thinking of either playing an atypical elven ranger or sorcerer to start my experience of the game world but as it is not something I can research elsewhere I was hoping that the gaming community could suggest a few ideas to help me.
The sorts of knowledge I need are places of origin for elves and any places where the character could have recieved his initial training. Extra information could be helpful but I hope to learn as much as I can as I go along. I'm not looking for character ideas just the geography and local knowledge.
I'm afraid I cant offer any prizes for the best content. ;)
As a suggestion (to the development team) it may be useful to have maps, details of major population centres (with perhaps temples, schools, guilds, militias and other general info) in the PC guide or on the forum to help players get started. Doesn't have to be too detailed or revealing (one liners or bullet points would do representing common knowledge) but would go a long way to introducing the Vives game world. |

I know Ferein is the elf city.
I'm pretty sure we all just make it up as we go, honestly.
But, I could be wrong. |

The Player's Handbook Second Edition is where you want to look. Its not linked at the top of the site yet as our webmaster has recently become a father and is a bit busy with RL. |
I do what the voices in my head tell me too. |

If you become and Elven sorcerer, Evaramier would be happy to take you under his wing. |
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

But if he tells you to charge hundreds poisonous spiders, you are allowed to ignore him.
Oh, and if he suggests running down the stairs into a room full of vampires? You might want to consider that advice as being a little unwise as well.

Would this be the same spiders that you told me would be safe (even though I was only level 6) and the Vampire that was quicker than you and Sinjin *smiles* |
