New Huge Update! Posted: 22 Feb 2004 02:31 AM |
With the implementation of 1.77, there's a lot new in game for you folks. I've been working on the mod with the new Vives Base Hak for the past dozen hours or so, with a big thanks to Aria for her scripting help for the new travel systems Below is the patch log for you all
*During a routine patrol into the Buckshire Ruins, several rangers had come under seige from a herd of Gray Renders. Tracking the beasts back after a fierce battle, they have reported to the nearby militia that the caves have now become filled with the huge beasts.
*A recent expedition for resources into the Buckshire Ruins has unsurfaced a previously unknown discovery of one of the ruined towers. Though the tower nearest to Buckshire is in complete ruin, several lumberers report that the tower closest to the cave is aglow at night with odd lights, the rubble in different positions from one day to the next.
*The fine town of the Halflings and Gnomes, Brandibuck, has declared that the once off-limits glade known only as Faloman's Retreat is now open to all in the lands (even the Biggers). Placing a sign near the hill outside of Brandibuck Vale, the peaceful grove of the long gone Faloman is now open to grace its natural beauty to those who wish to gather there.
*At last battling past the frenzied hordes of badgers that have plagued the poor farmers and travelers of the Great Plains, intrepid adventurers have been able to hack through the thick treeline below the rising hills near Whipsnade Pass and uncovered the Sunix Woods, a primeval forest untouched for many generations. Rumors of large beasts and bears larger than Kusin's cart abound, but no one has really gone in to test these tall tales.
*After much construction and lobbying within the palace of Queen Aquinas, a new business has decided to bless us within the fine coastal city of Port Royale. Located within the plaza district near the posh Gem Trader, Cafe` Del`Mar has opened its doors to the public, a fine, upscale eatery and cafe for all to visit. A fine outdoor cafe of grand splendor is open as well for fine days and clear nights, so stop by and become a patron of this fine cafe.
*The Gladden Farmlands, realizing the need for more provisions for themselves and the nearby Icy Vale across the mountains, has been hard at work tilling new fields and constructing more housing for the humble farm folk and travelers. As well, they warmly welcome Coruva Lorehammer and Avari Lorellon who have moved into the farmlands during this new expansion of hard work the farmers have showed in the recent harvest season.
*Midor has recently announced that the famed crafter of musical instruments and composer of grand ballads, Johanne, has at last finished construction of his own music shoppe within Midor. The famed maestro can be found near the Midor Museum, located just next door with his own music store to cater to any bards, storytellers, or musicians in the lands that happen to travel through the fine, glorious streets of Midor.
*In keeping the lands safe, well traveled, and accesible to all, a new class of merchants have sprung up, those who would aid the adventurer and purveyor of the land's beauty both. Tired of the horrid conditions and dangerous journey across the lands as well, Kusin has agreed to become a part of this new system of travel allowing greater ease and comfort to which all people may travel. Kusin now will charge a modest fee for all those wishing to travel on the southern hemisphere of the lands, offering trips to Paws and Midor, while the trip from Paws to Brandibuck can be traveled along the outer coast aboard Alosynth Leaflong's boat, "de Wave'opper" for a small fee. Kusin's younger brother, Jusin, has finally come of age to aid the family business, and offers similar travels upon his caravan between Port Royale and Buckshire. The trip from Midor to Port Royale and vice versa are now manned upon the great sea faring vessel Aégea, manned by the stalwart captain Valien Sensi. The ship will make the long journey and be able to transport travelers for a fair price every other day within the ports. During other days, Valien can be seen on the inner seas, servicing Ladriel, Ferein, Buckshire, and Port Royale on the open inner sea...
Out of Character
*Buckshire has gotten a total facelift. Look for a more "distinct" look to the outpost town, as well as its trading post.
*Brandibuck has gotten a total facelift. Look for a more "distinct" look to this small town and its surrounding areas
*Many Map Pins added for Midor, Port Royale, Brandibuck, and the Great Plains
*More Merchant Signs/Placards for ease of finding them within many cities (Notably Port Royale)
*Many Interiors in all cities have gotten a facelift of new placeables and "ambience"
*Skyboxes have been added to Buckshire, Brandibuck, and Faloman's Retreat
*All Chairs in PAJWT are now sittable and at a sittable distance from tables
*Several small additions of new placeables and "ambience" factors have been added to many misc. areas
*Some spelling/grammar errors fixed within several descriptions for placeables/readables

... and a huge hand to Alosynth for learning about custom contents, fixing up the Hornv8 -> Víves base hak, many builds (FYI each Víves build takes over 2.5 hours), staying up in the burrow till 5 am on Friday so Fen have the Víves with new hakpak (must I mention all the while Fen was sleeping)... without his efforts these wouldn't have been possible at all!
