I have a question :)

I notice in the DM: Deck of Hazards, that BKatt commented on it in March of 2007? BKatt was a DM?

Lol, too funny! Bkatt was the DM playing the dark dreamer, after I left. That's what I meant when I said earlier that I gave some pointers about how I envisioned the story going. Became a DM a month or 2 before Sol and I left for the final time.

But sounds like BK definitely met and surpassed my definition of evil. V. funny you never knew he was the DM that finished off yer story!!

And if you ever wonder why you, and Macha and a few others weren't beaten around the head until you gave in and were made DMs too....it's simply cos there were some players we wouldn't remove from the playerbase unless we had no other choice.SmileyWas the main argument against BKatt becoming a DM too, but the coverage was badly needed.

Course me becoming a DM was the opposite, they were desperate to remove my loot whoring, power gaming, monster slaughtering influence from the player base....and instead put me to work killing and torturing the players instead!!!

Cheers,

Sirac

No that truthfully never bothered me. I can come up with storylines, and DM PnP with the best of 'em, but it took me a week to figure out the HAKS with a LOT of help from Chief! My ineptitude with anything even remotely technological disqualifies me completely. Hells my wife wants me to replace my old flip phone with a Smart Phone, but all those scary buttons and no clue how they work *shivers*

Anyway, more importantly, where is Barnas!?Smiley

I'm here, for better or worse!

Very strange. I was just doing some work, then saw an E-mail in an old account I hardly use anymore. Certainly wasn't expecting Paul sending a circular about Vives. I even remembered my password, which might be more surprising still.

I think I'll poke around a little. But first, greetings, and best wishes to everyone who's still here! (Or back here?)

Hey there Barnas! :)

How's it going? What kept you busy all these years?

Hey B,

I'm surprised that so many messages got through after all these years.

You can always check out what Henesua and Chief have done over at the vives darker days forums.

as PD says, what have you been doing all these years?

Purpose in life: finding better ways of allowing players to kill themselves. Repeatedly.

Hello!

Short version: Married, moved to the US, college and even occasionally work. Not exactly in that order, though. There was also LARPing in the mix too, actually. Surprisingly time intensive.

BARNAS!!! Still pulling for your Tampa Bay Bucs?

Spend all my time watching the Chiefs these days. Ironically?

Though the last couple of years the best games are whichever game doesn't involve them.

Hey Coruva! Long time no post!

I sent the message out to everyone who posted in these forums. About 3/5ths of them got through. I'm glad to see you are one of them.

And how about you? What have you been up to?

It's really great to 'see' people from Vives again. Also, I confess, a little nerve-wracking. I just hope people can forgive some excessively bloody adventures! All supposed to be good fun, I swear. ^_^

I am doing great, though, and I hope the same goes for you.

No online games these days, though. I may, possibly, maybe... I confess, entirely... spent my first degree LARPing when I should have been studying. Also my wife wouldn't be pleased. We both do tabletop games, though, so there's a compromise. She kills my characters far more than I kill hers, though. It might be karma.

Wow, thought you always laughed off my attempts to tell you how great LRP can be. Can only imagine what you would be like as an LRP ref...scary stuff!SmileyBut would've loved to find out!! But 20 years of LRP'ing at an end for me, or at least a very prolonged break.

Whereabouts in the US are you? Sol and I (and our daughter) are visiting LA and Orlando in October.

Anyway, with the number of old faces turning up, either need to get all in the irc channel, or better yet in game for some nostalgic wandering!

Cheers,

Sirac

Funny, sounds like me in a slightly different order (minus the LARPing).

Oh, I picked up a few kids along the way, and I still work for myself (no one else in their right mind will hire me). That, and I teach Judo to kids (it's an excuse to be abusive. I blame Barnas.)

Otherwise, same old, same old.

Johe nagged me about getting the forums back up again (he did that every couple of years) and finally I did. And here we are.

[edit: and get a load of the "who's online" box - Veran, speak up!]

Not just any ref! The longest tenured ref* of the world's longest continually running LARP**! Yeah, though, you were totally right on that. I even met my wife LARPing, so...

*Unless since surpassed. Also far from the best. But enthusiastic! (Which is not entirely synonymous with murderous!)
** We swear. Not Fools and Heroes. No matter what they say on the matter.

Whereabouts in the US are you? Sol and I (and our daughter) are visiting LA and Orlando in October.

We're in Kansas City. We were actually just down in Florida a couple of weeks ago for a friend's wedding. October is a much better time for that than June, though.

Anyway, with the number of old faces turning up, either need to get all in the irc channel, or better yet in game for some nostalgic wandering!

Alas, no gaming for me. I don't have a PC which boots Windows these days. As I am constantly reminded whenever I need to run Quickbooks or pretty much any actually useful software.

IRC could be awesome, though.
